Facecamped and tunneled by the same killer, repeatedly.
I had what I thought was a normal game on a Swamp map YESTERDAY and I had the audacity to make a pallet save, I've had that same killer four times today (and once last night too) blatantly facecamp and tunnel me and no one else. Even with teammates using BT and taking hits for me, he just wants to make me pay.
I'm on PS4 and blocking him didn't do anything. I know he's not cheating or using exploits or anything, but it's a little weird and it's getting old. It's not really fair that he gets to know I'm in his lobbies ahead of time and I don't have the option to avoid that weirdness.
Is there anything I can do here except stop playing?

Will changing nickname help on PS4? If you have crossplay off - turn it back on to get a greater variety of killers.

If he’s doing it over multiple games, it is a bannable offense if you have video evidence.

Yeah, that too, but I wouldn't count on that since there is no proven precedent of someone ever getting banned for a similar offense.

It is only free one time. Not worth paying for it because of someone petty.
And yeah playing surv with crossplay on is more fun imo.

Do you have crossplay off? I virtually never see the same players. Occasionally I'll see someone twice, but four times in a day is excessive.

He is, but I didn't save the games so no, I don't have evidence. But I guess I'll start because he is still at it. He actually did it again since I've made this post.

It's not as simple as on PC to change your name on Playstation. It's a permanent thing, which I'm unwilling to do for this psychopath. But I did think about turning on cross play since it's probably my only chance to avoid him. It just sucks because the game runs so much better on PC, games aren't all that fun going against PC players all the time.

I do have it off. I find going against PC killers to be incredibly difficult. The last time I had crossplay on, 9 of my 11 games were 4ks and it's just not even close to fun. I guess I have to choose which way to not have great gaming experience. I wonder if he has a list of people he has grievances with.

Give PC killers another chance. We're not all serious. Trust in the MMR, like everyone else does.

Man, that is a strange reason to hold a grudge. I do not even vaguely remember the person who said the most toxic thing to me. Like, at all. And this guy remembers you for dropping a pallet? Surely he has a list and he checks it before every game, lol.

I kinda feel bad for him, because he must be pretty messed up to be that mad, but at the same time, he's kinda ruining what used to be fun for me, and it's not my fault he needs therapy, ya know?

If I suspect people recognizing me and then acting like an ass towards me I usually change my pfp and nickname for some time and private my profile.

Last time I played on PC, the killers had 4ks in 9 out of 11 games. It's just not even close to fun. But neither is this weirdo, so yeah, I turned it back on. Every game has been a loss but that guy hasn't found me yet.

You can't change your name on Playstation ID the way you can change your nickname on Steam, if that's what you mean. It would be a permanent change and I am unwilling to do that for this psycho.

That sucks. If that occurs again, just wait a few minutes instead of re-queuing instantly so you make sure to not fall into the same lobby again potentially.

That’s awful. Sorry it happened to you. I’m on ps4 too and if any players act toxic I just block them but apparently that doesn’t work

Sorry to hear that. As a killer main, yeah there are survivor players who go full toxic, but you haven't done anything even remotely like that. So you did a pallet save? I'd have applauded you for it personally, this guy or girl has seriously got issues if they have become obsessed with you and are targeting you. Nasty players unfortunately are out there. I sincerely hope you stay off his/her radar and get to enjoy the game.

And this is why I really wish there was the ability to block a player so you aren't matched either with or against them again. Sorry you have such a pain in the ass sore loser to deal with. I don't have any suggestions that weren't already offered

Yeah but this would be abused to high hell. People would block Killers or Survivors that out play them, and those Killers and Survivors would have a harder time finding matches.

I've gone back and forth on that. I mean, the potential is definitely there, but (and this may just be my old man brain thinking people are better than they are) I don't think more than 5-10% of the playerbase is that sodium-filled. I do think it likely that streamers would have a much tougher time however, which isn't great.

I like the optimism, but this is the game where bad eggs on both sides think they can shame and insult and threaten the other side for using in-game perks, powers, and tactics they personally don't like, to the point that they actually make posts on the forums thinking they can get the devs to enforce their personal rules.

The chances of being matched with the same players repeatedly (with crossplay on) are probabilistically insignificant, so I doubt it will "ruin the game". Until the system is actually tried, we can't be sure how it will actually turn out. People who will block every killer they lose to will have problems finding the game themselves, so I doubt many players will start blocking everyone. Most will reserve this power just for the trolls only, and it will surely make the game more healthy (although people who only play to ruin the game for others will surely complain that "they are blocked by everyone because they outplay everyone").

This is the same player base where a large portion think they can control how others play, and give threats and insults when they're not obeyed.
Many will block anyone who beats them, using excuses like 'They camped' or 'They had Dead Hard' to excuse what they are doing. Let's be real. And then those good players can't find a game as quickly, because salty players have blocked them with the sole reason being 'I lost to them'.

As I said, if you block 1000 players - it's the same as if 1000 players had blocked you. So those "active blockers" will have matchmaking problems themselves. Moreover, the system could be tweaked a bit, like the blocks not being permanent, but lasting for a few days, etc.
You have your idea of what will most likely happen, I have mine, until the system is actually tried nobody can know for sure.

Really, the devs have said this is bannable? I don’t see what rules it breaks. Not that I condone what this killer player is doing.
I also don’t see why devs haven’t hidden survivor names in the pregame lobby yet. It’s a no-brainer move to help stop this kind of thing. They should just convert the base game lobby to the same as it is in mobile - minus the names.

Try playing with cross play again. Even though I’m on PC, most of the killers I get are usually from a different platform. Also, if you want to aggravate him, select Claudette and give offerings for Mr Cowboys map and become one with The Bush.
It will drive him crazy if he’s gunning for you and can’t find you. Just make sure any gen you’re on is near bushes or lockers so you can counter BBQ. I forget the name of it but there is a perk that will allow you to avoid aura detection a few times, which will help if they have Lethal Pursuer and BBQ. Spine Chill is also good with helping you lurch away before they come at you.

It’s not necessarily camping or tunneling. This kind of offense falls in the “going out of your way to ruin a player’s gaming experience” category.

IMO names should be disabled. Or it should be like mobile
I also have the same problem with a PS4 user if we can’t see the names they should see it to it should be character model only

Except that downing and hooking and camping people isn't "ruining their experience", those are everyday tactics. And how would you even know that a killer is chasing someone because of some personal petty thing versus them just thinking the survivor is easy to down? Not to mention, how would the killer get themselves put against the same survivor over and over in the first place short of something like streamsniping or maybe playing at off-hours when nobody else is on?

I think it’s a form of stalking if he’s getting in the same lobby every game. I think it is possible to cheat the system so you do get in the same match with a particular survivor.

Sadly it's not hacking, just crossplay off means a smaller pool of players so the odds of him facing the same killer are really high.
But that being said constant harrasment (and kinda stalking, I mean the killer doesn't try to find out and can't about the player himself) is still bannable, if not by behaviour then by playstation. I mean hell, my friend got banned for a week because he trash talked someone after a fifa game (played on ps4). So with footage it won't be hard to give the killer atleast a time ban. Maybe a perma ban.

The original post doesn't say anything about trash talking or insults in aftergame chat. And yes, harassing people in chat is bannable, it doesn't matter whether it happens in one chat or multiple chats.
As far as going against the same killer multiple times because the matchmaking is putting you against them, that's not "stalking" and not bannable. Nor is tunneling or camping in those matches if that's what happened.

I know I was just giving an example of harrasment being bannable on playstation.
I guess the one easy thing the OP could do (and already did I think) is to put crossplay on. Since the killer which put OP on his hate list still has crossplay off, there is little to no chance of OP meeting him again.
Drawback being playing against PC, but I think it's a small cost in this situation.

There's an Australian streamer I used to watch who got targeted repeatedly and the offender got banned.
It's definitely possible, it just requires a humongous amount of work to prove one's case.

Every time a game implements a similar sort of ban/avoid system, you find out just how many people will ban someone who's good at characters they don't like. Off the top of my head, Overwatch had something similar when it released, and all the good Widowmaker players found themselves basically excluded from games this way.
Imagine what would happen here. Bearing in mind that it would also only take one person in the lobby having a ban to prevent a match.

Yeah I get camped and tunneled anyway, but it's a little unsettling that this guy has done it so many times. It's kinda weird that there's no way for Playstation players to protect themselves from this sort of thing. I'm assuming it's the same for xbox users.

Even if it's not bannable to be singled out by a weirdo, over and over and over and over and over again, there should be a way for console players to protect ourselves from this.

I have wondered if he's actively looking for me though, to be honest. I've had a few games where we have no killer and someone comes in and out a few different times. It's console so I don't think he's using any hacks or exploits, I just think the devs need to do something to protect their console players from this weirdness. It's not necessary for them to see our names in lobby ahead of time.

I just want a way to hide my name at this point. There's no reason for killers to see my Playstation ID ahead of time. I'm sure I'm not the only person who has ever had this happen.
