DBD has some kind of black curse or something.
I keep playing it even tho i dont enjoy most of my games. Its like a burn out but at the same time i want to play more and more so i can get the slight dopamine of one good game. No other multiplayer game has made me feel this way.
Also it doesnt help that all of my favourite characters from other horror franchises are in there.

DBD is always fun for me personally. It all depends on your current state of mind when you start playing really.

I compare it to an addiction or gambling. It makes you suffer, but you live for those small exciting moments and that's what keeps you going.
It feeds on hope.
DBD is the first ever game I've invested time and effort in.
I didn't have video games growing up and don't have the mechanical background per se = I have butter hands and bad coordination. I recently got into Uncharted and Tomb raider (easy mode if super easy doesn't exist).
I started playing over a year ago and was interested in perks, builds, powers. Started watching videos on how to do things, etc. Something that I'd never understood before.
So yeah, this and coffee are my drugs.

Do you wanna play a multiplayer horror game yes you have dbd and ........... vhs I guess. You get my point but dbd has zero established competition. You could play some scuffed horror multiplayer steam games but again they will likely not have the established power of dbd.

It's simple: DbD is the monopolist of its genre. There is no other thriving game like this one, no real competition, although some attempts to make similar games have been made (mostly unsuccessful). The situation is unique for DbD: ie. if you don't like, say, CoD, but like the genre - you are free to go to Battlefield (and vice versa), if you don't like DOTA, but like the genre - there is LoL (and vice versa), etc. But if you like the general idea of DbD's gameplay, but hate the game itself with all your heart - you don't have much to go to, so most people uninstall, refresh and then install again, because they don't have a choice.
Although recently some more successful attempts to recreate the same idea have been made (Propnight, VHS), still they are far from DbD level of popularity and quality.

Looks like fortnite.

I like the idea of the gameplay changes but it for sure isn't a "horror" themed game at all. Visuals aside it could be really fun but I do agree that the look of it will automatically cause some people to ignore it totatly.

From what i see it has skill based gameplay. I dont like how the main objective is to kill the killer.
I havent watched that many videos but (correct me if im wrong) you also cant choose the role you want to play so the game decides what role to put you in.
Ugh...
Reminds me of Evolve and we all know what happened to this game.
Also i know twitch views dont matter but this game can barely get to 1k views even with a DBD personality streaming it.
