Scream is coming to Among Us
So its been announced that Scream is coming to Among Us to commemorate the new movie.
Does this mean that its likely they will extend the license to other games?
Or do you think DbD is satisfied with the Ghostface we currently have?
I think a lot of people would be delighted to get Sidney or Kirby in the game - even without the movie Ghostfaces themselves...

Its honestly usually the cheaper option aside from Ash no other chars really even look like their screen counterparts. i guess quentin sorta looks like him now

I don't feel like they need to get the survivors from the Scream chapter. I don't think the money they'd get from the community is worth the amount they'd need to pay to get the characters.

They already have Ghostface. Much like with Bubba I think they are content with that and are not bothered about getting a survivor, too.

I like the Ghostface we already have. He's not 'THE Ghostface" but to be honest one of Ghostface's gimmicks is they could be anyone underneath that costume. (I.E. when their identity is revealed, it's often surprising that whoever it is was the killer the whole time.)
DBD Ghostface's lore is decent. Some smug narcissist journalist who writes articles on his own murders.
I wouldn't mind some survivors from Scream, however. Or a map.

DbD Ghostface is perfect as he is from the lore perspective. I would like to get more insight into his life and how those murders played out and I really hope we are getting a chapter about him someday. After a Pig chapter was announced I got high hopes for this to happen someday...
We do not need a different Ghostface, unless there is a character in his story that played the switcheroo with him and got killed in the end.
Sure I would love a survivor for him but honestly: Why? This Ghostface could murder Dwight during his free time as well as David in the gym and it would be fitting. He could be everywhere as long as it gives him his fame and reputation.

I still found the Ghostface crewmate to be one of the most hilarious ######### I've ever seen for some god awful reason.
Sidney Prescott would be a cool paragraph survivor since lots of people want her, but other than that I see no reason to get the Scream license in the game.

To answer your question, no, I would not believe BHVR are satisfied with their Ghostface over the real one, but I believe they are stubborn enough that they wouldn't get the license for Scream.
Also, ngl, I feel like subverting the licensing for the character by just getting the mask and not the movie rights probably burned any bridges with the people who own Scream in the future.

Very true. But I also think at this point Scream TM could be thinking - theyre already using our killer and we're getting no money. We might as well let them use Woodsboro/survivors to get SOME money out of this!

What was licensed? Ghost Face? Scream? They're separate licenses. If you license Ghost Face, you don't get SCREAM and vice versa. Behavior has never licensed SCREAM, just Ghost Face. Funworld isn't very exclusive when it comes to that and will license it out to pretty much anyone since they're a costume company and not a media company or anything. They also get special perks for licensing to DBD, such as being able to make costumes out of whatever costume they put in the game. Scorched Ghost Face halloween costumes exist and are made by funworld. Devilface, too.

I would love if they added Sidney to DBD. I've seen a few people mention Kirby and I don't get why anyone would want her. She wasn't even that interesting in the movie.

Kirby resonated with a lot of people as she was a pure horror movie fanatic. She had attitude and was a good friend.
Plus the way 4 ended and you werent 100% sure if she died or not left it open. She could easily be taken by the Entity in that time.

I mean... what counts as the "real" Ghost Face? Up to Scream 4 (because I haven't seen 5 yet), there have been 7 people under the Ghost Face mask and even in the movies it's canonical that it's just a costume that the killers decided to wear. I feel like if they wanted the Scream license specifically, they would have done everything in their power to work with Funworld and the owners of Scream from the get go. Basically, I don't think they "subverted" the licensing of the character just because they didn't get the movie.

I would say I'm satisfied with Ghostface in DBD now, his range is limitless due to no "real world" tie-ins. He could be an agent that The Entity itself created if BHVR wanted to go that route.
Survivors from Scream would be cool, but ultimately unnecessary.
As for the map, they don't need a license for that, the store GF went into during his cinematic would be more than welcomed by the community, and a fun as hell concept.

The "real" Ghostface is the one that comes with Scream licensing. The one that properly gives credit to the people who made the character popular for decades and created a series of movies that parody the tropes of horror beautifully without devolving into trashy horror-comedy. Without Scream, nobody would give a ######### about Ghostface and he certainly wouldn't be in the game, otherwise they could have just as easily licensed any other product. The only reason we don't have the real Ghostface is because BHVR didn't want to bother/pay for 2 different licenses to get the one character.

They're not getting those character as their license is for the Japanese light novel which is apparently very different from the American film adaptation.

Are you sure money is the only reason? Getting licenses is already like moving through a mine field in order to get a license. (Without taking into account money) So now you want them to move through a larger minefield that's more dense with mines? Just because people know what Scream is? Also, which Ghost Face would they even choose? There's 7-9 of them and they aren't going to bring in all of them. There's no reason to. So once again I'll ask, who's the real Ghost Face? Like when you imagine the Ghost Face killer, who from the Scream franchise (since now that's what we're specifically talking about) do you imagine when you think Ghost Face. You're only allowed 1.
Edit for first part: I seriously can't think of one time where BHVR worked with multiple license holders for one dlc unless licensing ownership changed after they got the license.

I very much disagree. Nothing comes close to the Ghostface of my childhood.
That said, I'd be hype for Woodsboro map and Sidney/Kirby survivors. Even a paragraph with those would satisfy me. Unfortunately, I feel if we do get a Scream survivor it would be Sam...
