Trolling/griefing in DBD

I'm fairly new to DBD, tried playing in the past but couldn't get into it, but trying to get back into the game again. Though one issue I had back then which started happening again is the killer Trolling/griefing. Not accusing stuff like camping as trolling/griefing, seems like a perfectly fair strategy. What I mean is the killer toying with people, for example in the last game it was down to me and the killer, I'm still getting used to the game and was running around like a headless chicken trying to find the hatch, but the killer would always pick me up and take me to the furthest away hook, I'm sure some of you are wondering why I'm complaining about this, well after about 3/4 hook escapes the next time they downed me, they took me right to the hatch, and just as I was about to recover they locked the hatch. It's this sort of stuff in games which makes me hate the community, why couldn't they just have killed me and got it over with, instead they just messed around with me.

Can anyone recommend what I should do if this happens again? can't exactly report them and I don't what to have to give up on the game again because I do want to start enjoying the game.

In my experience these don’t happen that often.

it’s definitely not reportable as the game is not exactly held hostage. As with the bleed out/egc the match will eventually end…

if something like this happens to me I just tab out of the game and watch a video or stream until it’s over. Usually the killer loses interest if they don’t see you reacting in-game.

Yes as @Mooks said, AFK is the way to go and it is infrequent. If you think this is bad, wait until you play killer!

Unfortunately there is not much that can be done. You could either let them take you to the hook without struggle, wait for end game collapse to end, or do what you did in this match. It's up to you to weigh whether the frustration that causes you is a fair trade off for the rest of how much you enjoy the game.

I will say there are people constantly frustrated by poor player behavior and neither the community that commits it nor the devs have made much movement to address this, so I would not count on that. Best bet is trying to set up private games with friends on a Kill Your Friends lobby. I also wish the devs would consider unranked KYF lobbies that you can allow public invites for like other games do. I think this would make a much better space for more casual players.

Could be they were just frustrated by survivors being toxic to them, and they were acting out. However, you don't need to recover to use the hatch. If they dropped you at the hatch and you just laid there recovering, they may have decided they didn't want to wait anymore and closed it. No malicious intent.
