The Q&A was good
The Q&A was really good they touch some good point. So they did a good job i think this was one of their best stream in a long time anyway in recent memory.
The fact that BT basekit may become a possibility in the future is god damn scary. They are looking at the game delay perk too and with how hard they nerf perk on the killer side im kinda scare. I know they are going to do the same on the survivor side but unless they MoM them they are still going to be over performing i assume.
For me that Q&A was a win for the people who love this game and play this game like its a religion but for me the second Pokemon, Dying light 2 and Elden ring get release this game will be dead for a long time. Because its not enough and its going to take too much time for some good thing too happen in the game.

I agree, i was pleased with it.
Wouldn't focus to much on BT basekit. That's not what they said.

Stretch res despite upvotes was not mentioned.
DH is going to be reworked (soon tm)
Apperantly they will have a look at AR aswell
Boons unchanged. CoH down to 75%
Patrick confirmed that playing ugly and tunneling is kinda “secured” way to gain MMR. So playing fair and getting 8hooks 0K = negative mmr
Not sure either regarding BT becoming base kit

My only complaint about the Q&A. is yet again they kept answering the same questions they've answered at least 3 times before.
I know it's based on upvotes but it's still sad to see.
"What about the early game slowdown?"
They've scrapped it. stop asking.
"Shirtless Felix"
You've got one with an open shirt you don't need to keep asking. Honestly This question alone feels like an intentional waste of time.
The worst part about it was watching the chat. I really feel for the mods on that one. It's the usual storm of BS.

The devil is entirely in the details. If they just made Borrowed Time base kit with no other changes that would probably be terrible, it would just be giving all the survivors a fifth perk essentially. However, if that change was paired with something to rebalance the game back towards the killers, like slowing the gens down a bit, that would be ok. I'm totally fine as a killer main if Borrowed Time is base kit so long as the overall game balance is kept relatively intact because of some other change that comes with it.

where can I watch the Q&A?
0 -
Keep in mind, the devs have mentioned in the past they consider Stretch Res to see over obstacles be cheating, so it's quite possible they're reluctant to talk about it one way or another as they mentioned in the stream when answering a question about cheating in general. They specifically avoid talking about particular cheats one way or another because, if they ever do implement something to mitigate it, they don't want to give cheaters additional ammunition.

What is AR? Adventure rank, assaulf rifle? Lol...
1 -
A Dead Hard rework is coming! (worse than the current for sure, as happened to Object of Obsession).
Good Q&A, just for that news.
0 -
I feel that you could switch the invulnerability of dead hard to temp endurance during the dash so it has more uses. It won't eat up powers in the most terrible way and it won't give that DAMN SCREAM!
1 -
Infamous Alchemist Rank. But some people do see it as assault rifle
0 -
true. But its not via injecting code/editing memory. Its more of a dbd setting which is obvious :D
0 -
Wait, when was that? I came in a little late, so if that was at the start, I might have missed it. If so, that's incredible news to hear.
0 -
Just because it's an easier cheat to do doesn't make it not a cheat.
0 -
You mean by changing resolution in settings?
0 -
Confirmed Legion is getting Assault Rifles
1 -
I thought it was very good - definitely exceeded my expectations. CoH nerf was very welcome, but not sure it’s going to make a huge difference. It’s still unlimited free healing for the whole team and doesn’t require a perk slot for 3 of 4 survivors - still quite OP.
The one thing that bothered me was the allusion to possible “basekit” BT. If that comes with no major buffs on the killer side to compensate then that’s going to destroy the game as killers will quit in droves.
1 -
Yes. We're not talking about just picking a standard resolution, we're talking about going in and setting it up to allow for weird custom resolutions that break the game.

I totally understand where you're coming from here. As someone who watches every stream, you probably don't want to hear the same questions and answers again. But there's a lot of people who don't catch every single one, or who may tune it half way through a stream and miss the answer the first time. We try to keep the duplicate questions to a minimum, but when they're highly voted and frequently asked, we'll toss 'em back in there to spread the word a little more.
To put it simply, for every super hardcore player who catches all the news & Q&As, there's two or three more who play the game casually and check in on the news only every once in a while, if at all.
8 -
As someone who complains about Dbd a lot, i'm satisfied with the answers they gave us.
They are considering a new casual/different mode which is great;
They will be changing overused and overpowered perks like Dead Hard and Circle of Healing.
The only problem is that these changes are not that huge and will probably take months or even a year before we see them...
0 -
It was AWFUL. Only things answered were early game collapse, dead hard, COH and the killer stats.
nothing said about killer to survivor player ratio, and y’r man said that ridiculous hockey analogy which frankly soured the Q&A
0 -
Who said that?
0 -
I am fine with the Q&A.
Nothing to exciting and nothing I did not anticipate.
Addressing cheaters is not possible and they explained the arms race character pretty well, not making fixed time tables is good and it seems that they have learned a harsh lesson here and announcing that things are "on the radar" is good enough.
People complain about the Hockey analogy...well, that was a given. Anything where people feel like "their skill" does not get a reward makes them feel bad. I will continue to ask people who talk about players just "warming the bench" if we should just exclude reserve players from receiving the rewards and the cup at the end of season if their team won...
0 -
You guys have a pretty low standard of "good".

So, I am hearing a lot of flak about this Q&A, and I don't think people are really being fair. I think it was very good, but I want to counter something I am seeing a lot:
"The devs just answered most questions with a no answer."
Yes, they did. And that is an answer. For example, perk tiers. They said no. You may have wanted to hear yes, but they answered your question. I hope that by giving you people a flat no to a lot of these questions you will move on to other questions. Some of these horses are very very dead and no amount of Summon Undead casting is going to Maurice those horses back up for you to twist their arms into yes answers.
I want regressing 99'd gates. I am not going to get it. Okay. I can move on.
But stop saying the devs are not answering questions because they did not give you the answer you wanted to hear. It happen to think they were very transparent about a lot of things.
3 -
I feel this is a good thing to bring BT as base kit. It softly removes the chances of being farmed off the hook by your solo q teammates. But it should come with some tweaks like remove the possibility to bodyblocking the killer.
I also think they should compensate the killer with this - as this literally gives survivors a fifth perk. I would personally make kicking a gen automatic somewhere between 2,5-5% regression and remove the possibility to gen tap to stop regression.
0 -
Ad astra abyssosque.
1 -
I think it was decent, I'm glad that they are wanting to be more transparent. While not being able to hear out more details about certain things is kinda disappointing, I can understand why they don't, because of the possibility of certain things being scrapped or changed
0 -
Dude the ######### example Patrick gave about hockey was terrible
And the whole if you run the killer for 5 gens and then die example was also really really terrible
They clearly have no idea what any example of skill in there game is
2 -
That was awful the chat was full of rage. With they did something about the prestige system tho😢
0 -
A built in BT for survivor? Lmao Have the dev's completely lost it? Give survivors a "huge" buff while killer stays the same (actually weaker and weak killers have been getting nerfed) haha. So people who want to play killer more like me are basically gonna get screwed over big time by this. Now were gonna have to have a strategy based around BT which is gonna be waaaaay more scummier..If you think we were tunneling and camping NOW! haha If this gets implemented its definetly not gonna be healthy for the game! I can guaruntee that
0 -
The answer to all questions:
"We're investigating it, going to look into it and test it, but that's down the road, anything can happen, maybe, but it's not on the horizon."
It really should just be called Q.
2 -
Best Q & A?
Best stream so far?
Satisfied with the answers??
######### are some of you on??
They literally said 'no' or 'soon probably' to 99% of the questions.
The ones they DID answer was ######### like 'Whats your favourite lobby screen?' and gave answers like 'oh boy I'd love that but I don't know if we're planning anything at all'.
These streams are getting to the point where they're useless because they don't want to commit to anything, they can't handle criticism and they can't stick to an ETA.
This was a shambles where the only good points they brought up were common sense such as bots replacing people who leave being a bad idea. But then they say that a testing ground is too hard to implement, just put some basic survivors in a map so you test how fast a killer is/how their powers works!
They're either out of touch, their team has a serious skill deficit with game developing on this mess of a code or they're desperately trying to hide the fact they're managed by money-hungry management that only wants profit.
Balances and health updates don't bring in profit, not unless their player base suddenly starts crashing then they have a miraculous big update with lots of things we asked for.
This is obviously a very cynical view but what else can I think at this point? After all these Dev streams I can't help but think they're completely unaware of what the game actually needs.
I really hope a game like VHS kicks this dev into gear, that's the only way they're going to start making the changes we want and the changes the game needs.
I don't want them to run this game into the ground to eek out as many microtransactions as possible, that's why we can't shower them with praise for every little thing they say that makes sense.
Criticise them for their bad choices, let this Dev team know that we live the game but we don't like not being listened to or given radio silence on what they're changing.

yeah, although I wasn't the biggest fan of the QNA personally, I don't think people should get onto you for this. it's unfair, most would do the same as a community manager.
0 -
Here's an idea - why not have an FAQ page with the questions asked & the answers from the Dev Q&A sessions so that new people could come up to speed?
2 -
Given the devs recent "nerf" with COH along with their other bs they seems to be the kind of team that would rather tell and admit to killers "suck it up we want to sell more #########" rather than actually balancing their game
0 -
I'm sorry to sound like an ass but TBH anything to make this game balanced ATM seems more a case of players smoking hopium rather than the devs showing that they acknowledge the issues that the game has
The perk tiers make no sense now since there is a massive bloat of them and most are useless now
The "nerf" to COH did little to nothing about the issues with said perk along with the problems the boon mechanic has
And it doesn't matter if it's true or not the single fact that bt can be base kit is a horrible idea both cause it just shows bias toward survivors and much like most survivor meta rewards bad plays. Yes some people said they might balance it with a killer compensation but is it going to be noticable or is it going to be like Dh and BT's "nerf" where the problems people had about survivors abusing the perks.
Also I need to say the whole "escapes and kills only matter" shows the devs do not play or at the very least not care anymore for their game if they did the game would be more about skill than bullshit rng.

It really wasn't good. I guess it let many of us know that the game won't be making any positive changes to the overall state of the game, so good in that regard, I guess. The lame answers, and bad analogies were terrible, and the arrogant attitude that was dismissive of players concerns was definitely off-putting.
That is just continuing the bad analogy. That is a situation of team play where everyone wins or loses regardless of how players do individually. Do we have that in DbD? No. If all survivors lost if one died, or they all won if one escaped, then that would fit, but that is not the case. The players warming the bench are not as skilled as the players on the ice, that is why they are on the bench. The league tracks individual player stats: Goals, assists, shots on goal, etc... Benchwarmers have a bunch of goose eggs on their stat sheets. The best players tend to go to the all-star games even if they are on a team that lost the majority of their games. They also get much higher salaries. And if you play in fantasy leagues, all of the players stats are used to determine their rank, and their owners' scores for the week/season, regardless of how that player's team did. Why? Because it is based on the player's skill. Individual skill matters, even in team sports. Having a skill based system that doesn't actually take a player's skill into consideration is ridiculous.

Playing "fair" getting 0 kills is probably not anything a killer should be happy about, or get points for? Should the entity be happy with a killer who can't kill? I think it's fair that a killer should be judged on number of kills, not hooks or how many pallets was kicked etc.
0 -
No.
Have a look at scott junds videp
regarding MMR as it clarifies all i was trying to say. No need for me, to create an essay
0 -
Didn't even give teasers for the Legion/Ghost Face reworks....Hell even Clown's yellow bottle got it's own teaser in a stream.
0 -
No thanks I don't want to give him views. Guess it's the usual hooks or looping the killer is "skills" even if you never get kills or you and your teammates constantly fail to escape. But then you are still doing something wrong and should not gain MMR anyway even if you are so "skilled".
The only real way to judge if a killer is good at killing is by the number of kills. And the only good way to see if a survivor is good or not is to see how many survivors escapes during that players games. The rest of the things hooks, escaping chases etc should give you smaller bonus MMR points perhaps but they only tell a small part of how well you do anyway.
All I see is either complaints about camping killers that they can't be good, although you need to end chases fast to be a good camper. Or that a survivor can survive by hiding in a locker, but you will never reach high MMR if you hide all games it does not work like that you will get yourself and your team killed by playing that way.
0 -
No not really. In so called high mmr and where you go against sweaty teams you will never achieve 4K without tunneling.
Where the map is survivor sided, where BNPs are involved or lets generalize it with sweaty builds, it will be even harder to achieve 4K.
MMR based on escapes and kills is not and will never be representing playerbase skills.
Boosted bubbas and claudettes will be equally punished in high mmr, as somebody, who is doing massive pressure or can loop killer for gens.
Okay, lets hypothetically agree that running around tile in circle before dropping pallet doesnt take much skill, as you need mostly experiance predicting which circle will be last before lunge gets you.
But is something that makes doing gens safe - Distraction

Question! If i run Rancor/Remember Me/NOED/Blood Warden or No Way Out and i hardcore tunnel the Obsession then go for another secure kill after he's dead thats healthy? Dont get me wrong i can care less and play the way i want and others should and "do" the same but hooks is obviously a bigger indicator of skill. A loss is a loss however, even if i get 8 hooks (everyone on deathhook) and they all escape its a loss! If 2 escape its a draw.
0 -
Im glad killers are finally starting to play like me and others like me and not care and do absolutely everything in they're power to secure kills (ensuring ppl get to 2nd hook state from neglegance etc) The devs over the last year or maybe longer have been making DBD increasingly more difficult for killer (boons, nerfs to certain killers, very bad maps for killer etc) so its no wonder he game is taking a very unhealthy direction, the dev's made it this way!
Personally and thankfully im good enough at this game where i can beat survivors (3 or 4 k) with multiple builds with various killers so im not complaining too much or as much as everyone else but its always an uphill.

Basekit BT is one of the worst ideas. It would also defeat the whole purpose of the perk system.
0 -
It really wasn't as it made loads of people lose their last shred of faith in the devs.
0 -
That why its a good Q&A like that you wont feel bad when you uninstall the game for dying light and elden ring
