Dead Hard is Being Looked At... What Buff Do You Expect?
Personally as a FDHU (Frequent Dead Hard User) I can't wait to see how they make this perk more fair and balanced.

I would say a rocketbooster and little shoulder turrets that aim for the killers knees

They will reduce the distance traveled by 0.00000000009 meters, because they heard Killers complaining about DH for distance. To compensate Survivors for such a MASSIVE nerf; the i-frames will be increased by 10 seconds.

Dead Harding into the killer knocks the wind out of them, in all seriousness just make it only useful for dodging hits, it's versatility is what makes it so op.

Dead Hard no longer gives distance.
If Dead Hard dodges an attack successfully, break into a sprint for 2 seconds.

I say one change they could make is that when survivors press E or the equivalent button, the perk is active for around 1 second. If they are hit during that time they will perform a standard Dead Hard. If they are not hit then they continue running like normal and they don't get the distance made from Dead Hard.
This could solve the problem of using Dead Hard for distance while awarding good reaction from the survivors.

Good idea.

You dash forward with so much Dank, 2 generators get completed by the backwind

We don't got Jango Fett as a survivor yet, hold your horses

Damn who’s the playtester? Mileena?
6 -
That actually sounds like a decent change, so it probably won't be that
2 -
You made me belly laugh.
2 -
Unlimited use obviously.

There'd have to change the animation yeah

At this point, I’m just tired of seeing that perk in so many games. I’d be fine to go on a long break from it.
2 -
They either need to make it have i-frames only or give distance only
2 -
Same here

Idk what they might do but probably faster speed boost?

In all seriousness, I think they can take away the full invincibility and instead give endurance during the dash as to not eat powers. Us Legion users are having a bit of trouble.

im thinking they will allow DH at any time. (to bring it in line with other exhaustion)

Devs have specifically made it blatantly clear they have a problem with Dead Hard being used for distance and not for dodging hits. The only issues they have with it being used for dodging hits is just weird things that result out of interactions with specific power and making it more clear what's happening (eg, improvements to validation), not the fact that it can be used to dodge hits. So the dash is likely being removed completely, or being moved to only getting the current dash if you actually dodge an attack. Furthermore, they'll likely work on improving clarity of validation and interaction with specific killer powers.
Peanits: "What aspect of Dead Hard are we really thinking about changing? Are we thinking about changing the way people use it for distance, or are we thinking more about the way people use it to dodge a hit?"
Patrick: Yeah I mean on the technical side, we're definitely looking at the hit dodging, how that functions, how the players experience it, how you get feedback, how you know that that hit got dodged, stuff like that. There's already some changes coming I believe in the upcoming patch touching on the validation of it, it was in the PTB. From a game design side, we're definitely looking at it specifically in regards to the speed boost and how that can activate regardless of you dodging a hit. It gives it a little bit too much utility beyond what we want Dead Hard to do, so that's another aspect. I don't have anything specific to say about what we're doing there but those are the high-level aspects we're investigating right now.

they could also block windows or pallets for a few seconds when you press E, but I don’t think that will happen.

DH through bear traps should not be a thing. Evan has been tormented enough.
3 -
The forward dash will make it from one side of the map to the other while also keeping iframes.

Dead Harding gives you invulnerability for the rest of the game and makes you appear dead.

My guess is dead hard for distance is gone but when you press 'E' you now get a 3 second shield. If the killer hits you at any point during the shield they get stunned for 5 seconds.

I just want them to get rid of the distance gained from it.
The point of the perk is to dodge throw an attack, not to arbitrarily gain distance to make it to a window/pallet you wouldn't have otherwise. It's basically on demand Sprint Burst.

I used to think it was like a BT you apply to yourself.
Just when you're about to get hit, you press the button and the perk takes the hit for you so you don't get down.
I AM NOT SAYING THAT'S HOW IT SHOULD BE.
I'm just saying that's what I understood when I read about the perk (silly me).

That'd just turn DH into a third health state with even easier activation requirements than Mettle of Man since you can use it everytime you're down one healthstate. Getting a free sprint is basically the equivalent of eating a hit and receiving a speedburst from it.
