Survivor perk popularity in 50 matches
So I did 100 killer matches before for the killer perks. I realized that obviously 1 match of survivor perks is 12-16 (depending on role played) perks instead of just 4. So I really didn't need to go to 100 to get an idea of the trend so I will start at 50 matches.
These are taken both from my survivor matches as well as killer. I didn't count my perks as that would be dumb.
These represent the amount of survivors who ran the perks.
Deadhard 73 appearances in 50 matches
Borrowed Time 47
Iron Will 40
Decisive Strike 40
Boon Circle of Healing 36
Kindred 34
Spine Chill 34
Windows of Op 23
Lithe 19
Resilience 19
Sprint Burst 18
Unbreakable 17
Adrenaline 15
WGLF 15
Self Care 14. Seriously why are some still using this?
Boon Shadow Step 12
Prove Thyself 11
Urban 10
Deliverance 8
Empathy 6
Balanced Landing 5
Soul Guard 5
Detectives Hunch 5
Bond 5
Vigil 5
Flip Flop 5
Self Aware 5
Plunderers 4
I don't see the point in listing perks that showed up 3 times or less.

delete dead hard🙏 Also why are people still using self care lmao that’s a killer perk
2 -
eh, it has its fringe uses. when its 3v1 and one guy is on the hook and the gen jockey is all the way across the map, i can see the appeal of healing on the fly
Nancys sometimes eat your bones so there's always an element of risk and inconsistency in regards to Circle of+Inner Healing. Self Care will always be there for you...for better or worse.

Plus doesn't Self Care help retain Charges on a Med-kit.... Cause that's one use
1 -
it does but like a tiny portion lol

Yea... I don't use Self Care so I didn't know

it really is a killer perk if we think about it.

Not everyone plays in SWF.

Self care isn't used properly. It's fine to use it if your side is far ahead, if you're on death hook or if you are about to go and try to open or escape through the gate but if you want to use it for every injury pair it with botany. This makes it take 19.27 seconds to heal which is 3.27 seconds longer but I think 3.27 seconds extra is worth not requiring 2 people locked up doing one heal.

Dead Hard jumps well past all the other Perks. Can't wait for it's well deserved nerf, making other Exhaustion Perks more appealing.

True but you don’t need that perk it sucks. There are 2 healing perks and they are better. But yeah playing in a swf make it easier

With Killers not using Sloppy... It's not that big a deal
But yea... most players don't/ can't find teammates to heal up... So Self Care it is
Also I got a feeling that COH is going to be the same here "soon"
With "Hit and Run" playstyle going by the way side

In the past I thought people were harsh on self-care. I get it sometimes you need to be able to heal yourself. However, given how slow it is you have better options these days.
Simply bring a medkit instead if you want to be able to heal. Once Built To Last came out this only made selfcare feel even more pointless. I could bring huge charge medkits and heal myself or whoever needs it and just got it back. Even then I could still see a small benefit
Introduce boon totems? RIP selfcare. Its totally pointless. I simply quit using Built To Last once COH came out because I never under any circumstances run out of charges on my medkit. I just didn't need it anymore.
Even though there is risk involved. All the options top using selfcare. It just takes too long. The bonus on the medkits is like nothing as well. Botany does that better anyways.
I mean hell, even before BTL and Boons simply running Iron Will instead of selfcare was more efficient. Lose the killer in one chase and you basically saved a healthstate and wasted the killers time instead of the other way around.

Idk where you are getting your numbers but self-care with botany takes 24 seconds.

16 dived by .83 equals 19.27 if you are healing yourself at 83 percent speed it takes 19.27 seconds

It'll be interesting to see you do this experiment again now that the new patch is live. I'm curious to see where the new Boil Over ends up, it seems pretty solid now!

Im half asleep so I am confusing myself but I DO know its 24 seconds not 19. Why that is I am not sure of at the moment. Maybe someone else can break it down.
I actually thought Botany Made it 26 seconds because 83% of 32 seconds would be 26.56. Why it s 24 I am not entirely sure.

Self-care can occupy a single survivor for an exceedingly long time, but it does potentially free up another survivor for an equal amount of time. Self-care is just tactically a little more involved.
Autodidact is the killer perk that's in the survivor perk list by mistake.

Lol already showing up in 75% of matches.

Yeah, I’m not surprised, it seems like a good perk now. 🙂 Plus it’s a flavor of the month. The main question is whether it’ll be a short term fad or part of the long term meta.

I gotta say I don't think it will survive in its current state
I recall them saying they changed balanced because they didn't want to have to balance maps around it. This situation is very similar to that if you ask me. Heck, even the lackluster aura blocking part is now super strong due to the 25% drop because it actually matters now. lol even THAT stat got buffed as well.
Perhaps it needs a cooldown? idk.

I wonder if the aura blocking is causing some of the misses from Boil Over as well? It might be that some killers aren’t seeing a hook aura and assuming they need to go way far away for a hook when there’s actually one nearby that’s not highlighted.
2 -
FOr sure. Before it didn't really matter. In 90% of cases you could just make a hook. Now if you have to drop down survivor is at like 40% wiggle in 2-3 seconds and it makes killers panic. Rightfully as it should....

Yeah, I definitely don’t have a problem with Boil Over sometimes getting a save, if it never worked it would be a worthless perk after all.
So far the issues with it seem to be a combo of
- Maps which have bad hook or no hook placement in certain spots like RCPD library. The ultimate solution there probably needs to be placing an extra hook in those spots
- Boil Over might be too sensitive to height dropped. I saw a video or two where it seemed to trigger while just walking down an incline or stairs. It should really only trigger probably when the drop is at least two meters straight down (a little less than a story)
- Boil Over probably shouldn’t trigger more than once per carry. This is exacerbated by the above sensitivity question.
The stagger is impressive and effective but not game breaking so that’s probably ok. The aura hiding to 16 meters is also effective but if a killer is smart they should be watching for nearby hooks before they pick someone up anyway.

Self Care is cool in Solo Q. I don´t have a teammate around often.
I don´t have CoH on every character. And i have to find a totem - someone cleansed all in a match today.

I'm almost positive it counts stairs sometimes as a drop.
