I expect another drop in the killer population.

I've been away from the game for a few months, enjoying a couple fun 4vs1 games in the mean time.

Still, as a Nurse main, I had to try the "fixes" so I've reinstalled the game, warmed up and tried.

There are indeed less bugs, although I still got M1 a couple of times and some weird short blinks.

What is new is chasing survivors doing tiny but insanely fast left-right movements (6 to 8 a second) sending my dead-center hits on the side and missing at point-blank range. It happened a couple of times with two different survivors. Can we get rid of auto-miss already?

What was really bad though was the number of escapes from my grasp. That's something that used to happen once a week at most. Now it happened up to twice in a game, often right in front of the hook.

Most of the time it happened going down the basement. If I didn't took the stairs cleanly, if I did a mere hop down they were out.

I did a few wipes slugging survivors way too cocky and confident their "tech" would compensate for their lack of skill (it almost did). I did a few full team bleed-outs as hooks are now less reliable and none were close enough (Are we having fun yet? Me neither.). But for me the game is now even worse than last time I've left.

After an evening of miserable games of catch and release and slugs I've uninstalled it again.

F* this, back to VHS & Prop Night.

This. I think this is what happened to him. Otherwise it doesn't make sense. He probably had no idea, the poor bastard. My hats off to him.

As killer you already have to play around DH, DS, BT, unbreakable, even if the survivor isn’t running any of them, and now we have to do it with boil over too 😂😂

I'm with you, the whole "Move back & forth" mechanic which throws off auto-aim needs to be fixed. Auto aim shouldn't be a thing b/c it can be abused like this to make what would otherwise be a hit, miss. I'm a console player and it's pretty bad. Survivors don't even need to 360 to force the miss. Sometimes as a survivor you just need to move left to right fast enough and the swing will miss.

Seems to be heading that way. Its starting to look terminal. Serious competent movement on needed changes is massively needed. Gameplay is becoming increasingly more stale due to a lack of variety in builds killer options further straining and burning out vetran players.

If I was in there shoes i d focus on establishing some rotating game modes alongside "trials"(the main game). Stop nerfing killers till they have figured out how to add some agency and variety back into the role.

I really hope we get people pushing new modes it would open up more variety in terms of gameplay and create a casual enviroment where due to continious rotation the modes would become stale at a significant slower pace. Dbd needs an enviroment to push casual expermentation build wise and sbm has thrown a giant wrench into it.

I'm in the same boat. For now DbD isn't gonna be taking space up on my drives. I occasionally peak at updates or "what they plan" to see things are getting switched up, but I'm definitely not holding my breath.

Even then, if DbD is going to turn this hemorrhage around, they're going to also have to beat VHS to the punch on it at this point.

Switched to survivor a loooong time ago. Using the increasingly long queues to entertain myself on the forum.

Why do you bother to come back and post if you obviously do not like the game? Sounds to me like you miss it, because whatever it is you are playing isn't fullfilling you.

    Stay in VHS and Fort-Propnight.

I like seeing posts from players who have quit. Looking at the Steam charts is only part of the story. It's natural to miss a game one used to enjoy.

I don't, because usually when people move on they move on. No need to go back to a game that you obviously do not enjoy.

    Nobody cares at that point.

Nurse really gets screwed hard by 'aim dressing' (auto aim, lets face it) and having not tried her since the update, it sounds like not much has changed or improved there.

Disappointed to read this experience. Hopefully it goes better for me or I will just keep playing survivor and suffer horrendous queue times and questionable solo team mates

I'm only following the game from afar. I don't even know what Ringu is ... Ring? Like the Japanese novel リング?

Yes, it finally hit me. I remembered they have buffed that along with the faster wiggle. It's so ridiculous it's almost funny.

Yep, it quickly became obvious that was my only sane option. Of course with the boons, unbreakable, ... it's now more difficult to pull off.

At least, once it's safe, the killer can rest a bit while the survivors are slowly bleeding out.

The MMR wasn't too much of an issue. It's garbage but when going against weaker survivors I just switched to a more playful mode, only killing when they have 2 gens lefts and leaving one out. When the boons came up though, it was just too much. Faster heals, no tracks, ... ? Now way. RPD was even worse with two layers of boons below and above the library. I always did these games bleeding out the survivors. Most didn't enjoy the solution.

Survivor, as a group, can be funny as a party game, once in a while. But it's just boring most of the time. I need something challenging (why I play killer more) but fair and fun (why I left).

I've got a bit less than 2.5k hours in the game. I'm the last player in my group that was playing as a killer, the others have stopped years ago : first killer only, then survivor too. It's kind of sad that such a good concept is being destroyed. I'm happy there are finally better alternatives available.

Yep, exactly. Since I only look at the game updates from time to time I've forgot hearing about that part until the end of the evening. That's such a bad idea I don't get how anybody playing this game would have it, let alone develop and release it.

I'm not sure that was worth a reply, but thanks for spending the time explaining to him ;)

Right? I'm wondering how much this movement is macroed. It was so fast, so smooth and these misses so ridiculous. For a couple of seconds I thought they were cheating then I remembered the auto-miss was still a thing.

They'll probably wait until it's too late to do what's right. It seems to be a thing nowadays in the entertainment industry.

I've not liked the game for the last few months but given the time I've spent on it I'm still checking to see if a spark of enlightenment has hit the devs and they've started to do the few changes needed to make it right.

I recognize the efforts. I've asked for them fixing Nurse in every single feedback form I've filled the last few years. I'm still having more fun with the new competition so that's where I'm going in the mean time. Maybe, just maybe they will not "Deathgarden" this one.

    And it's still a thing in 2022.

I swear, at this point they must be trolling us.

And thus you should understand "nobody" cares that you don't care (nor anybody else).

Some though are interested and keep discussing this. You can move on.

Guys. BHVR did at least something right this patch. They made some really bad perks kinda viable (again). They changed some insanely useless Killer and Survivor Addons, so we can have more diversity in our matches with more viable perks. Thats great!

If they "remove" the ability from Survivors to dodge hits, how should Survivors be able to win?

Overall the patch is good in my opinion. They did some things right and instead of flaming and complaining, we should be kinda thankful and happy for that, because we all know, that not only BHVR but also other Game Developer Teams from other Games can do unusual crappy things to their games and therefore we should just stop complaining and instead try to help the devs finding the right path of future features and changes.

Imagine you are a developer and read through the forum posts and like everyone is saying: "omg, such a bad patch again! i will never come back again." xd

Happy Devs/Dev Teams = Better Game = Happy Players =)

Devs in general have an incentive to make a good game because happy players give them money. They are not 12 years old pouting in a corner when they don't get praises for a sub-bar work.

The "dodge" part wasn't about dead-hard, only about a broken mechanic that shouldn't exist in the first place.

I like this approach and POV. Yes, the only way to break up the stale meta is to elevate other perks into viable status. Though, the criticism of Boil Over, and that it was more then a bit too much, is valid, too.

Balancing is never easy and always an, well, balancing act. But there is this feeling, that a lot of killer players collectively share, that the game has strayed into the survivors favor, and not just a bit, but far, far, far too much. If the game was relatively well balanced, this wouldn't be too bad and you could easily live with an overtuned perk, but in this situation and environment its quite literally adding insult to injury and sending more and more killer mains over the edge, so that they think "why even bother?"

But yes, its a good thing that they zry to elevate some old and dusty perks, the more strong options there are, the less likely we will see the same 6 perks over and over and over again.

But it would also be nice to get some meaningful QoL or even strength buff for killers, instead of adding more and more stones in their way.

Improving dusty perks is all nice but should be done in a way that doesn't further tip the balance to the already stronger side.

Maybe start to make killers fun and viable? Fix the map sizes, the infinites, the auto-miss, ...

Ah, what do I know? /s
