I mean, don't gem me wrong, I'd love some more cosmetics, but this is Behaviour. You should know not to expect much.

Atleast compared to the other two games I've participated in with battle passes, this is quite generous.

It does seem to be even sparser than usual. There's two pages in a row where there's just one item on the free track. Between levels 39 and 70, there's 6 things to unlock. That's less than 1 item every 5 levels.
I suspect this is because there's no Saw content on the free track and there's tons of Saw charms this rift, similar to how tome 7 had tons of charms in the free track because all of the L4D content was explicitly free instead of explicitly paid.

I mean, it is free to me because they refund you. So for the price of one battle pass... I get them all. Pretty insane value. And thicc Pig fishnets...

It's less than we usually get in the free rift too. They need to fill those blank spaces with something like BP or Shards, make it not look so empty and pathetic.

Apex also has a much harder grind than DBD, let alone that if you can get the full ticket, you might aswell buy 1000 auric cells to have the premium items for practically free as your investment is consistently returned.
I've had all premium items and I only paid for 1000 auric cells back in 2020 once

Playing the free track is really rough, and it feels like that's intentional, to push you to buy the paid track before you know if you'll complete the rift. In this case, though, almost everything on the paid track looks horrible to me, so I don't think it would enhance the experience.

Well they want you to pay....their a business. What i cant figure out is why there are still so many charms...cant we get them cut in half and replaced with BP and iri shards? I bet it would get more purchases that way considering there is no way to purchase BP out side of buying already owned perks from shrine.

They could atleast put party streamers or other items that are not available to purchase or used to purchase content in there.

Looking at the free pass aspect specifically in both cases, Rocket leagues free pass usually contains joke items and the occasional loot box which you are bound to get rubbish from. The other game which may have changed since I last played it would be Fortnite, the game that really started battle passes gaining popularity. Most of the stuff in their free pass are things that are beyond pointless.

I'd like to jump in here with Paladins as well, their Battle Passes were terrible and their new Event Passes are hardly any better.

I wish people understood you only need to buy the pass ONE TIME, and then just keep 1,000 cells on your account and get the rebate every time you finish the rift.

I think rifts are fine honestly.
You get more cosmetics in less time than you get them for shards.
Also if you get the paid track and complete it you get all of the ac's back.
I don't like some of the parts of the grind in dbd like measly shards per level but the rift is great imo.

The more I read, the more I understand that Sea of Thieves is the gold standard of battle passes.

Only issue with SoT's battle pass is that if you buy the pass you're not getting all your ACs back (or at least not until this season, we'll see if the rule sticks in the next one), but they give some of them in the free track so it kinda balances out.
A better "Battle pass" could be the one in Marvel's Avengers: each hero has its own pass, it doesn't have an expiry date, the premium track costs 1000 credits BUT gives you back 1300 credits meaning that as long as they keep releasing (free) characters you can keep earning them and buy stuff in the shop.

You're getting stuff simply by playing a game. 17 items is more than adequate for just playing a game, bearing in mind those items give the game nothing back in funding.

It's been said before but the premium track is essentially free if you manage to get to tier 70, which used to be an insane grind and a huge drag but as of the latest few rifts, it really isn't anymore. Last rift I often played only two games per day or there were days I didn't even play at all and I still made it to tier 70 in time.
I'd like to imagine many people out there play more than I do, so I'm confident in saying the whole thing is basically free after you've bought it once.

Dunno how it was on last rifts because I just have known this one and previous one but the real problem isn't free way that contain not much items but that the paid way is full of items that are really ugly, for 10€ (on a paid game), we can expect better looking items or I'm dreaming ?

I find it hilarious how dbd and r6 are both paid games and also the only games to not have paid currency on the free tracks lmao
Atleast R6 has alpha packs to give you skins though

R6 has alpha packs with set rarities in their battlepasses, not dup protected but they can give you one of the 2 currencies in the game to get new characters, it also does infact have pieces to other operators
The paid pass also gives you stuff after you hit max tier too, being alpha packs

Yeah, it would feel adequate if the empty levels had something in them like bloodpoints, or shards
And more importantly, if they could stop showing the "NEW REWARD AVAILABLE" banner when there is nothing there
Plus yeah, if you compare it to other games there are plenty of good examples that could be followed

obviously in fn, you dont get skins in the free track of the bp, but you get basically everything else. pickaxes, gliders, banners, loading screens, emotes, wraps, even vbucks
