SBMM

now we have seen how sbmm works ,every games are the same , resuming :

Game Starts : Nurse or Blight , eventually Spirit.

1 st down : Tunnel .

5 or 4 gens left , 1 guy out = 3vs1 GG game done.

where is the fun ?

mosts games killers hard tunnel 1 person. wich lead @ 3 escape most matchs.

Survivors complains for tunnels and Killers complain for genrushs.

i'm 50/50 playing every side . but my biggest problem is i cant play with my wife and my son anymore because we dont have the same sbmm like me , their games are very bad. the sbmm seems to match the higher skilled player , why cant we have a mix sometimes higher or sometimes less so they can escape a little more. i dont want to sweat every games , and i dont want to smurf too because i want to be better when i m solo .

Maybe you can teach them how to play, when you are that good?

Why should you bully baby killer, just because you play with bad survivor that you chose?

It's not 100% based on highest MMR, I think it is more based on avarage of survivors MMR. I have played on official discord with players that had less than 100 hours, while I have over 1k and killers were way worse than what I face usually.

i teach them they have more than 1 k hour but they play at medium low lvl~ and me more at High well i think. i got 3k hours .

i dont want to bully killer , i ve never said that. every game before sbmm i let killer catch me after a certain time when i see he had problems to play so they can have an other objective than gens, now i cant do that anymore = less time in game less deads, Not fun anymore . when we group we ve got Killers which are more in my lvl or more difficult. they never got killers in their lvl.

Maybe their MMR is not as low as you think.

MMR is gained collectively, so SWF gets boosted even when one is performing less than others.

I wish they would just show MMR...

The experience degraded a ton for me this week. At release, i was matched with players around my level that knew what they were doing, they were efficient at saving/doing gens/chasing and i was facing skilled killers.

Now, i'm matched with potatoes that don't even know that spreading on the map is a must and i'm facing the exact same skilled killers.

I'm at a point where i don't want to play soloQ anymore. SBMM worked at start but many players, old rank 1 potatoes have reached the mmr cap, it's obvious as the disparity of the skill level is huge between survivors.

That's the problem when you cap a ranking system : Top 0,1% will be at 2000 (let's say the cap number) but would be worth 4000 in an uncap system and top 30% players will also be at 2000, there real value in an uncap system.

We end up in a system close to the old one.

So what to think about this SBMM ?

    • soloQ is worst than in the old system as the killers are stronger but the survivors aren't
    • playing killer is okay unless you face SWFs, which are way more present in the new system at high MMR

I end up suicide on hook more often and feeling powerless in half the trials as a killer.

Is there something wrong with SBMM the last two days ?

My trials have changed a lot, on both sides. Sometimes i'm matched with/against great survivors, sometimes they are average at best.

Did BHVR do some changes ?

What you have to remember is once you reach a certain skill level with survivor, you start to get past the MMR caps for certain killers. Simply put, no matter how good you are at Trickster, you will reach a point where you can no longer beat survivors of your skill level, no matter how well you play. Way above that skill level, you have Wraith. Then way above him, Blight. Then slightly above him, Spirit and Nurse. And then there are survivors who don't even lose to them. As you get higher and higher, you reach that point where you just don't lose, because realistically, Killers cannot win against perfect survivors, so those survivors stop coming down, or they stay at high levels.

Personally, I get good teammates, but I am stuck at that level where these people used to go against bad killers and are learning they weren't as good as they thought, so they are ragequitting constantly. So for every win, I lose a game that became at 3v1 at someone's first hook, which happens more than 50% of my games. So you might get matched with someone like me who just lost 2 3v1 games, and then I win easily, because my MMR shouldn't have been going down like it was. I think these are the kind of things contributing to the weird skill sets.

This 1:1 with my experiences exactly. For soloQ I think it's the system creating artificial "balance" by grabbing a high level survivor and expecting them to carry 20 hour potatoes every game. Sure the match is balanced and I'm sure the 20 hour survivors love the free wins. For the 1000 hour survivor it's boring though, like they are stuck in green ranks forever.
