Blight is not a well balanced killer.
I see many people toss around "Blight is one of the most balanced killers we have" when discussing any changes to him. That is not true at all.
He has the best mobility in the game by far. Very little charge time, quick regeneration and fast movement speed. His mobility can be enhanced through many add-ons. Alch ring lets you catch up to a survivor almost immediately after hitting them. The blighted crow/rat will make you zoom at the speed of light. The new adrenaline vial not only increases speed but also turning rate. These are very problematic because they can turn blight into an extremely oppressive killer with very little effort on his side. A ruin + tinkerer blight will spend the ENTIRE match just chasing people off of gens. And eventually the survivors will either run out of resources or the blight makes a bunch of mistakes. Yes, ruin does not last forever. But it's not suppose to. It's suppose to reset progress long enough for you to build pressure. A gen or two reset after so long is very harsh on the survivor team. Especially when the killer can cross the map in seconds.
His power in general is abusable to get unintentional hits. Many of his "techs" are just exploits. Either abusing hitboxes or using external means to break the game and get impossible hits. I think the best way to envision the flicks is to compare them to billy curves. The curve is intentional design, not an oversight or bug in the engine. You cannot call an exploit or bug "skillful", because it's just taking advantage of the game's internal flaws. It's like calling a survivor who glitched themselves into an invincible spot skillful. All they did was cheat the engine in their favor.
Blight without the exploitative techs or busted add-ons/builds is mostly balanced. And he's actually bearable in this state. But people don't play blight for that reason. They play him to master the techs and demolish teams. They use his strongest builds available so they can win easier. Blight is fun to play and also very strong. I like that. But it reaches a certain point where the fun aspect of him becomes one sided. He went from being fun to so massively exploited that loading into a match with him cant help but make you wonder how miserable the match will be.

what techs are talking about?

Many of his "techs" are just exploits
Kinda like most techs, even looping was technically an unintended exploit.

This. It's the greyest of grey areas.
BHVR also seem to be rather inconsistent on what exactly qualifies as an exploit.
He has some problem addons, sure.
However, his kill rates look completely fine.

They'll probably cite the hug tech.

I agree, like the killer becomes boring to go against if they’re simply playing him just to use the exploits and broken add-ons.
1 -
the only "tech" that is an actual exploit are lag flicks. every other flick and tech aside from j flicks has never been nerfed so i assume bhvr is fine with them.
3 -
Base blight is the most balanced. That means no addons. Also there really is only 1 tech left thats still a debate on whether its an exploit or not. That of which is hug tech but everything else is fine other than the obvious m flicks that are a thing. Scoot slide was an intentional mechanic that mclean approved of since you're looking down therefor no m1 collision to you can make yourself slide.

Survivors really don't want killers to have anything

Blight is one of the most balanced killers we have
Pretty much. Some Survivors think Killers are employees of Dead By Daylight: The Ride; they're allowed to scare the Survivors, but killing is against The Rules. 😂

if the only thing you have to add to this discussion is "us vs them" then you can leave

Survivors don't want killers to have Dead-Hard, CoH and Boil-Over. Survivors bad!

Sigh, it always comes down to addons and exploit techs. Nothing new. I love going against blights. The interactiveness between one and me while looping is fun.

Why do people make brand-new threads for the exact same topic another active thread is about?
4 -
DBD players stop calling intentional mechanics exploits challenge (impossible)
5 -
The new adrenaline vial not only increases speed but also turning rate.
Um.
Adrenaline Vial: Decreases the Rush Turn rate by -0.5 °/s.
Why do people talk about things if they haven't even read what it does?
5 -
Adrenaline Vial decreases turn rate, not increase it.
4 -
I mean could you try playing a killer for once if you really want to talk about balance?
It doesn't take any time thanks to excessive amount of survivors, you can do it within 10 seconds or so.
2 -
Why would you not run the best stuff if the other team is,especially as killer ?
0 -
imagine getting mad that the killer brings a build to counter the 4 man swf's BT/DH/UB/COH
100/0 survivor/killer players really are allowed to have opinions about a role they don't play huh

I think if people consider any S-Tier killers the most balanced killers in the game, that highlights a serious balance problem.
6 -
It does.
there is a reason people keep yelling killer is miserable, and there is a reason why survivor ques take this long.

The game is balances around the blight more or less.
Spirit and pyramid are more or less like the blight.
The nurse is a killer that, if masterd, shift the game on killer's side.
The other killers are in disadvantage against very skilled survs.

Nurse and Blight are the first and second best designed/balanced respectively and the majority of the rest of the cast is behind what should be the golden ideal though.

I meant the look angle, poor wording on part.

Because its raising awareness to the issue. If nobody ever talked about how busted things like pre-rework DS or pallet vacuums then we would still have those issues. The only way to have your voice heard is to make enough noise until you cant be ignored.
Another point of this thread is to highlight the double standard and bias that is given towards balancing killers. Many killers have received necessary balance changes that have improved the overall health of the game. Yet, those changes are the most controversial. There's this stigma against making healthy adjustments for survivor gameplay. Everyone cries out for balance changes but more often than not they just want their games to be easier. They don't critically view the things they like and just slap "balanced" onto it. Then when somebody does criticize their fun pony, they don't take it into consideration and just see it as the other guy trying to take away their fun.
If we never talk about these things then we will never see things improve. And further more it makes the forums useless. If everybody kept their controversial opinions for themselves then there would be no criticism to be formed. There would be no actual discussions and it'd turn into an echo chamber.

You can do that in one of the multiple already existing threads for the exact same discussion.
