PTB advantage

After almost every Q&A I started wondering about some stuff they were saying.

Many many times when problems, ideas or solutions were brought up, BHVR said they have or had many great ideas but they didn't work when brought I to practice.

But did they ever said what the ideas they had or have?

I can't remember i have.

They just keep silent about what it was and keep us in the dark.

Why not get the community involved in it and help testing it?

I mean there is a Player Test Build (ptb) which is a perfect place to test those ideas and see what and if there are problems with it.

If there are problems with certain ideas which you can't find and solution for, there's always a chance that people from the community can.

I mean a pair of fresh eyes can often do wonders.


So why not take advantage of the PTB and get the community involved with actually testing of ideas?

It's imo a good use for it other than just show off the new chapter and some changes you made.

    Because they usually ignore the PTB feedback so it doesn't even matter.

    I know, but if they bring in their ideas then they will need to take a look at our findings.

    Right now it's just a way to show off what is about to come and not to actually test anything.

    Which is a shame and a waist of time and effort for them imo

    Probably due to time and money...it's a massive investment to make changes, and if the design team (or any other department) have enough of an idea about whether or not something will work, then creating builds to put on the PTB just to have that notion confirmed is rather pointless and a waste of manpower, the people could be working on things that they know would work instead.

    I mean they must have something ready to test, so why not let the community test stuff to see what they come up with the findings?

    I mean if you do something for a long time you get tunnel visioned whether you kike it or not.

    So it may seem to the devs that something might or might not work, but there's a big possiblity that they miss something.

    And having some fresh pair of eyes (in this case a few thousand of pairs 😜), it can really help them work out problems.

    Imo the PTB can be used so much better than how it's used now.

    This is why I would love to see an ETB (Experimental Test Beta) A limited playground to really test new ideas. They could put in ideas the communtiy thinks is a good idea only to show how bad they are ha ha and be like "SEE!?"
