Why do survivors take this game way more seriously than killers?
You see it everywhere, from top streamers to twitch chat randoms, saying that killers are the whiny side of the community and how survivors are "chill" for the most part. But every time I play this game I see survivors bming, using slurs, toxic in post game chat etc and I never see killers doing any of this, is this anyone elses experience or am I the only one that sees this? Survivors just generally seem to care way too much about a game on the same level as mario kart in terms of competitive but hey maybe its just me.

If you never see killers doing this then you are intentionally looking away.
it‘s a problem on both sides - well it’s not even exclusive to DbD but any online PvP game.
you may see it more on the survivor side because per match there are 4 together against 1 killer, so generally more to see and they are in a group against one.

Obviously I'm exaggerating saying never but its 1/10 games, survivors are like this probably 5/10 games. I'm thinking about doing a stream project over the course of a month just to record the results but idk if its worth the effort, people will still say killers are bigger bmers than mw2 12 year olds.

Because you can't be a casual player anymore. Games aren't balanced in most of my killer experiences as I either get high mmr try hards or low mmr free blood points. Rarely there's an in-between and the it fluctuates so much. You can't play the game casually as a killer

I don't justify any kind of bad behavior and I don't really know how to "analyze" why this is happening on the Survivors side.
Everyone takes their anger and chooses to respond in a different way, most of them choose to insult.
There are the others who probably find "comfort" with negativity. And if they have an audience or friends who listen to what they have just said, there's 99% chance that the others agree with them and they have this negative circle that encourages the others to continue this bad behavior while ignoring their fun altogether.
I came across a Streamer on Twitch who was just like that. I couldn't stand the disgusting things they said about strangers and how the chat felt good to watch them and join their bad talk.
I think they take the behavior of other players and judge them based on that. Although there is nothing to judge in this game at all but it is very easy to get caught up in the little things.
I can admit that there are times when I'm angry about what I'm facing against a particular killer.
It could be because of a perk, because they play better than me and this is another unlucky match I need to waste my time on.
In the end it's just a game, it's not a big deal. Some people do not want to make that difference because of anger.

They don't. Both sides are equally bad or good about it. Many survivors are extremely chill, including streamers. Many killers are extremely try-hard and toxic. It goes both ways. People are individuals, and everyone is different.

I only play killer so cant talk for how other killers behave, but in my games its random. 2 or 3 games in a row toxic survivors, then 5 games in a row a bunch of sweat hearts waving and nodding at the gate and gg in post game chats. If i get a cool team i always try to send a ty and gg. Most survivors are pretty cool. Dont become bitter and start taking it out on random survivors. enjoy the nice feedback when you get it and ignore the jerks.

We all play to win its normal, competition brings that out in us which is fine. People just have to chill and hold themselves accountable for there behavior, I understand your not in control of other peoples behavior but you in charge of your own. Be civil, be nice to others I live by the age old saying if you have nothing nice to say don't say anything. I control what I can the rest I let go not gonna lose sleep over it.

This is honestly the funniest take I've seen on these orums filled with people who say "hmmm, 2k 2 escape should be the norm and the standard for balance" being met with a resounding "NO I NEED 3-4 KILLS OR I'VE FAILED MY JOB AS KILLER"
The player base is HELLA sweaty on both sides but we're def not gonna pretend like killers ain't sweaty try hards in here.

idk what ur talking about tbh like ur statement is actually hard to read but the most reasonable answer i got in here is that there are 4x survivors per game to killers 1, so im just gonna rock with that reason for now, have a good day

Killers suffer more on a bad game, get punked till everyone is done with them, survivor gets to die

Seeing tinkerer, ruin and corrupt is just a sweat mode on killer. Seeing Ds,borrow and dead hard is just sweat on top of each other. I'm just like well that a fast game and back to the survivor's queue.

It happens both ways, but you probably dont see it as much when survivor. So i hear. I only play killer. Just play your own game. Stay chill whichever side you play. It gets noticed by real gamers. Ive met plenty of cool survivors, probably because turd players are so forgettable. Hope you find them too
