Been a while since we had one of these, and they tend to be pretty enjoyable.

For me:

  • I actually really like the new Wiggle mechanic. I have a mechanical keyboard and the rattle of it drives the wife insane.
  • I feel legit bad 4king. Unless someone is being a jerk, I'll almost always give someone hatch or gate.
  • I'm really bad at playing survivor, but enjoying it more recently.
  • I'm partially deaf in one ear, and so find it almost impossible to play Spirit without Cherry Blossom.
  • Sometimes I main Mirror Myers, and wish those were a brown. It's just so much fun.
  • I suck at chasing around loops, due to my terrible reflexes. I've thus become quite good at mindgaming.
  • I get spun constantly.
  • I've never bought a killer with shards, so I've got a heap of the damn things.

+ I am so bad with M1 killers. If i am not facing with baby survivors, it is 4 or 5 hooks.

+ I don't like to play as Bubba because he is best camper in game. And i don't want to be bad guy. I know there is some people are playing him with normal ways but even proxy camp is unfair for Bubba, he is so strong at that. So i am not playing him.

+ I need to escape for higher mmr as survivor but i am always going to save my teammates. I just don't like to leave someone behind me. And for this, so many times i died.

+ I never understood why people hate Haddonfield so much. I hate Swamp and Badham more.

-As overpowered as CoH is, I still have it on my build 24/7 due to how good and how efficient it is in SoloQ

-I have bought every Artist skin, aside from the prime ones, because of how much I love her

-I hate to say this, but I'm getting a little tired of Demogorgon. I've played with a lot of Killers and never did I find one that is as much fun as Demogorgon, but recently I've started playing Oni and he's quickly growing on me, almost to the level of Demogorgon

    - I detest dead hard, but still constantly use it.

    - I like Spirit, but I feel bad playing her because she feels too easy.

    - I go out of my way to play the killers that are hardest on controller.

    - I like Badham's atmosphere so much that I don't mind playing on it.

    - I struggle to kill Steve's and Cheryl's, and I give them hatch the most.

    • I actually like Swamp, both versions of it.
    • I do stupid crap as survivor sometimes.
    • I like playing as the new Deathslinger.
    • I miss my M1's occasionally, sometimes due to FPs issues, sometimes due to me being dumb, sometimes due to me feeling tired (usually if it's midnight), and sometimes me getting 360'd.

I hate DH as a killer but keep using it as a survivor because its just too good not to.

I never used purple or iridescent add ons on killers even though I have them plenty. Only time I use them was getting Evil incarnate

I dont use any add ons on Blight in hopes I master him before I start using them. Several months later I still play Blight add on less even though I should finally try them out

I buy and level up many characters I never play just to collect all perks in the game

    Well I've got a few I suppose

    - Haddonfield and RPD aren't as bad as people make them out to be and usually they're quite fun.

    - Despite me often claiming I'm a Billy main, even before I quit I hadn't played him in about a month as I was getting bored of him presumably out of repetiveness.

    - I literally never use any add ons on killer unless I'm doing a meme build or new to a killer.

    - Solo survivor gets me way more frustrated than I like to admit.

Swamp is...fine as a survivor, but the logs are just too strong a loop and when one happens to be in front of the boat, it creates a literal infinite.

Very few survivors know how to run it, but when they do...you may as well AFK, because they'll go there every chase.

I am hopeless with any kind of range attack killer. I just don't have the eye for those aim techniques.

I am on console, and I don't know if its due to frame rate issues or just me being bad, but I can be prone to getting spun.

As a survivor I feel like when I get in chase with a killer I either do terrific or bad. There's rarely an in between.

I will always give a Dwight the hatch unless they've been toxic.

I am something of an achievement hunter with this game. I just have to have them all no matter how annoying they are to get.

    Interesting.

I'm...actually really good on ranged killers (my reflexes are bad, but I'm damn good at predicting where people are going) - I just don't enjoy them. I tried Huntress and Trickster for a while, but just never liked playing as them.

Then...I found Artist. And she's quickly becoming another of my mains, right alongside Demo and Hag. So, so much fun. Just wish her addons were a bit more interesting.

RPD is miserable for both killer and survivor. The amount of times I've died (or seen people die) on their first hook simply because nobody could figure out how to access them...

Haddonfield just sucks. I'm hoping the remake removes some of the really dumb loops and a few of the fences/vaults. It's a paradise as a survivor, but kitten-eatingly awful on killer.

Solo survivor...yeah. I just find survivor so chill after playing a lot of killer that it doesn't really bother me when someone is cheezy. The only thing that annoys me is people who slug everyone and bleed them out - I hate having my time wasted.

That said, a lot of them are doing it because of bloody Boil Over.

    • I started putting points in Legion and getting prestige on them despite only having 1 or 2 games with them and playing mainly survivor. I just loved their aesthetic.
    • There is no map I hate more then the Swamp
    • I have a kind of strange quirk as a killer. When chasing someone who tries to spin around or juke me, I swiftly move my camera from right to left and back multiple times everytime Im in a hitting range. Its so I can confuse the hell out of them and make my hits unpredictable. It actually works pretty well.
    • When I play against a streamer I actually try to kill them last in hopes they are streaming right now and I get to watch my match afterwards.

    - I literally can't play normal M1 killers. The only killers I know how to play are Huntress, Nurse and Artist.

    - I usually refuse to do gens when there are only 2 left unless we're under a lot of pressure.

    - I break pallets as Nurse because I hate seeing dropped pallets.

You are not only one who can't play M1 killers. They are so weak at current meta. This is why Anti-Loop killers are so popular.

I love the Swamp on both sides. Even when it was the large size prior to the rework(s), it has always been my favorite Realm.

Love the new wiggle mechanic. Feels more interactive and achieveable even though it's the same timer.

I like playing against Nurses. I get a real feelsgoodman vibe when I can juke them, and I feel good for the players who master the Nurse and utterly wipe me across the map. Win/win.

I miss Billy. He was the only Killer that could give me the chills when I heard that chainsaw revving at the start of a match. Now, he's a pale shadow of his former self, and no one ever runs him.

    glitchboi Member Posts: 6,023

The logs are the biggest issue with the map IMO. If more survivors knew how to use it then I would probably hate it. Thankfully, not many survivors utilize it.

    My few confessions:

    • I really enjoy playing RPD. I prefer the more complex and larger layout which allows different types of survival/chase techniques. Both as killer and survivor, I like the challenge of a map that's way more than space > jungle gym > space > jungle gym. That design bores me after a while.

    • I've always liked Midwich, and feel it's a far deeper map to negotiate. Again, a decent change over the usual fare a lot of maps have. Also, the attention to detail is great.

    • For me, the meta is not so meta. It's more that those perks give more instant feedback. Some of the perks that have a more passive effect are great, but never really noticed.

    • Meta =/= best build for me. It's how you use perks, skillful play, intelligent decisions and experience which matters.

    • I play each character as I would imagibe they would be in game. Makes the experience far more fun.

    • I cannot 360 for #########. Thank God I can negotiate obstacles, but when there's nothing the only thing that will save me is a mistake by the killer - and a real bad one.

    ThiccBudhha Member Posts: 6,987

Wait... A killer main who has never purchased a killer with shards? Does that mean... You spent real money, or like, you just don't have access to half the killers?

  • Anniehere
    Anniehere Member Posts: 1,264

    • When I play with a male character I feel judged more decisively.

    • I really hate the sound effect of the blood splash. It's like nails on chalkboard in my ears.

    • Playing Killer and not catching anyone in chase makes me feel self-pity.

    • I never use a flashlight and probably never going to.

    • My favorite spot in the game is the little circus at Crotus Prenn Asylum. I always go there when I'm the last survivor alive; the horse and the music pretty much comfort me.

    • I have an unexplained crush to the fictional character, Leon. I always dodge a lobby if I play Killer and He is there.

    • I'm never going for risky saves or a body block because I'm scared of the Killer.

    • The reason I play Survivor a lot is because of my over-empathy and because I want friends...

    1. Gearhead was my main tracking perk before the nerf
    2. Autodidact is my go to healing perk (######### COH)
    3. I have not played half the killers I have bought. Not even 1 match (PH, Artist, Legion etc)

    1. I use Autodidact sometimes. Even though I know it sucks and it has on occasion gotten my team killed due to a loss of healing progress.
    2. I still have 41 anniversary cakes on Wraith.
    3. I have 1300 hours and haven't learned how to flashlight save. I also can't 360 hardly at all and I still get spun sometimes (although I've gotten better at this lately).
    4. Over those 1300 hours I have never prestiged any character since I feel like it's not really worth it.
    5. I almost never use purple or iri addons on killers with very limited exceptions.
    6. I almost never use dead hard as survivor. I know it's good but I hate it so much that I'd be a hypocrite for using it in more than 2% of my matches. It's probably even less than that.
    7. Bubba is one of my favorite killers when they don't facecamp. I play him a lot too.

    • If I see another surivor using one of my mains (Jane, Quentin and Steve) I switch to that survivor to match ^^
    • Huntress isn't that fun to go against
    • On the other hand, trickster isn't unfun to go against if he isn't too good
    • If it were smaller, temple of purgation would be my favourite map of the game
  • landromat

I usually give up against Huntress and Blight because their bullshit is just unfun. I also can't take people with huntress and blight PFP seriously. You know they're biased and you better ignore them.

Im one ear deaf too. Spirit is a no-no

I love Nemesis even if he sucks against decent team

Used to play with plunderers build exclusively and now i have hundreds of each item. I got 200 of each ultra rare

-I'll tunnel the weakest looper/survivor if I'm playing a regular M1 killer like Trapper, Wraith, etc.

-I always 4k when possible until I hit Iridescent 1, then one survivor is allowed the hatch every so often

-My steam profile has 4 pages of "-rep" comments since I started playing this game as mostly Killer two months ago, I take pride in those comments

-As a Killer main, playing survivor is a lot of fun, but only when friends, I have never solo Q'd survivor and will never solo Q a team-based role

-I face camped a lot when starting this game (especially with Trickster) as teams were too altruistic, leading to easy 3k or 4ks, I do this less now that I've gotten better and use other mobile killers like Nurse, Blight, etc.

-Bubba is the only Licensed Killer I've bought, the rest have been bought with Iridescent shards, still need Deathslinger, Hag, Spirit and others

  • C3Tooth

I main Yui and have my optimized build on her.

But for over half a year, I grind on other survivors and gave each of them a unique 1 aspect focus perk build to save me time to play later, and today I mostly play other survivors because of how much fun 1 aspect perk build can give.

I gave the most interesting perk builds on female survivors so I would play them more.

I never 2nd hook a survivor at 4 Gens because Im afraid they would suicide on hook.

I play every self-fish and scaredy if I got double hook too early. But I never suicide unless to give the last survivor hatch.

I always attempt to add friend the last survivor to tell them leaving me bleeding on the ground, if killer slugs me for 4k. I even wrote on my profile that.

I success 2 flashlight save at my 3000h. 1 on Plague and 1 on Slinger.

I use Small game to dedicate finding Ruin, not Noed.

I still dislike vs Spirit if I dont have Ironwill

Despite I enjoy drawing Spirit, I barely play her (10% of killer time), mostly I play Trapper.

Because I dont use headphone (it slowly damage your ears), Im really bad playing Spirit

I enjoyed End game build for power trip. But after Mika update, I felt so powerless because Coh completely nullify my play style (prefer to injure multiple survivors if I found 2 or more of them at once, dont kill unless 5 Gen done...) and Gen speed goes too fast that there are still alot of Pallets available to predrop, combined with Boon (which makes Noed useless). I had to change to 4 slow down to have fun.

I dont play to win (escape or 3-4k), I play to have fun. Do 2 Gens, make 2 chases, 2 unhook, do 2 bones...not being tunneled/camped as survivor. Have 8-10 hooks as killer, kill doesnt matter.

    • I’m a terrible shot, Huntress and Deathslinger are easily my worst characters aside from Nurse who I actively don’t play. (Trickster is a little more forgiving.)
    • I still get juked all the time. I’ve gotten a bit better more recently at knowing when to not just hold forward as someone is about to juke so I can track them but good dodgers still give me trouble.
    • I can’t be bothered trying to memorize optimal pathing on tiles so I’m sure I run a bunch of them incorrectly. If I’m running the shack in the wrong direction it’s pretty bad against a survivor who knows how to run it correctly
    • I’m positive I have a blind spot for people in bushes. I literally can be actively staring at them and not see them. Sometimes I’ll swing into a bush on pure instinct and get a hit and be like “oh, ok, so they were there, still don’t see them though.”
    • I don’t have the patience to play enough games to get to Iri grades. I do a mission a night, maybe an extra game or two, that’s about it. I’m sure if I played a lot more games I’d do it but once you get into the high silver and gold ranks it starts taking longer since it needs a couple more pips and you tend to only get 1 pip on a 3 kill. (And I don’t care enough about pips to slug the third person all night just to increase my chances of getting a 4 kill. I just hook the third and if the last person beats me to hatch good for them.)

    • I don’t run slow downs on trapper
    • i never camp with leather face due to the build I use until EGC
    • I only try 4ks with a few killers like the Artist and Nemesis
    • I don’t run flashlights on survivor unless at least two other survivors use them. Not because I’m going to use them but it’s an attempt to get killer to waste a perk slot on LB or FD.
    • I don’t like using rare skins because I feel it conveys an image that I’m better than I am as survivor.
    • I like to horde and collect items and offerings.
    • I have only prestiged one killer and no survivor. I prestiged Billy to P3 a couple of years ago.

Well 40 minutes ago I dced out of a match because a Claudette didn’t bring borrowed time and the trickster when right back on me. He didn’t do anything wrong it was Claud’s fault for not bringing borrowed time or body blocking. Like I said they are terrible teammates. Let me think what else. I guess that I like the female survivors more than the males even though I’ma dude lmao. And that demo is the only Killer I have at level 50.

    - I dont have a problem with dead hard if its use to dodge an attack but i lose my mind when used to gain distance

    - I only give hatch if I hear it while carrying the survivor to the hook

    - I really like the combination of pop and eruption even if I had the choice of ruin and pain resonance

    - When i was a baby killer I used thrilling tremors and ruin thinking that they worked together

Unless I'm running aura reading perks I'd rather go to Haddonfield then the Swamp

If a survivor asks for mercy I always give it

When I get tbagged at a pallet, I like camping and tunneling that person out. After tunneling them out, I let the remaining three survivors farm BP off of me and hope the tbagger is spectating

As solo survivor, if I want to pip up in red grades I use map offerings a lot

Also, if I care about pipping up in red grades as solo survivor I 99 gens. It makes pipping up easier

I'd escape a lot more though if I didn't try to save everyone as much as I do

-- I started playing this game when COVID-19 shut my workplace down. I had NEVER played an online video game before, so DBD was my first. I had watched other people play it on YT, but that was the extent.

-- I am definitely one of the oldest people who plays the game. Without revealing my actual age, let's just say that the huge majority of people I play against, I'm old enough to be their parent (or in some case, grandparent)

-- I had no concept of why anyone who purchase cosmetics for a character when I started playing. I convinced a friend to play with me initially, and my exact words to him at the time was, "Why would anyone waste money to look different? It's not changing how the game plays!". This was coming from someone who now has bought cosmetics on pretty much every survivor and killer in the game, and multiples on almost all of those. So much for what I thought then, lol. I also have never used Shards for outfits.

-- I have the least experience, and I'm the least capable, playing the "S-tier" killers. I'm still a baby Nurse (I play on console, FWIW), I almost never play Blight, and I rarely play Spirit. That said, I never had any incentive for the achievements, until the friend mentioned above gave me good-natured grief over not having any Adepts. Now, I proudly have all of the Killer Adepts (and nearly all of the trophies).

-- I can be ultra-competitive, but when I play killer, I give a LOT of hatches or doors, and I'm always willing to farm as Pig when someone Boops the Snoot. I can alternate from ruthless to embracing a meme literally in the same match at times.

-- I have no idea if I'm actually good at the game or not, half the time. My survivor skill has definitely improved, but I'm capable of really bad plays at times. As killer, I get spun far too often, and I mix in really great plays with completely potato ones literally in the span of seconds of the same match. I have really good game sense, but my eyesight and hearing aren't always the best. My results as killer and survivor are normally really good, but what does any of that mean? I'm somewhere in that great expanse of "total noob" and "Otz-level" player that the vast majority of people are in, I guess.

-- I refuse to bring in flashlights as survivor, simply because I can't use them to save my (or anyone else's) life. I rarely bring items at all into a match (unless it's part of a daily or Rift challenge), and I'm a hoarder/collector -- I've made sure that every survivor has at least one of a item/offering that's part of an event.
