Cross Progression: Microsoft Store to Steam?

I originally played DBD on Game Pass for PC. I loved it, so I bought it. I have a few issues in game and read that turning off vSync may solve the problem. This isn't an option in-game...No problem, I can turn it off via the config files. Except, I am completely locked out of my game files by Microsoft, even though I purchased the game.

I have too much time & purchased too many DLC's to just buy it again on Steam & start over. Is cross progression coming soon between Microsoft & Steam? I will gladly buy it again on Steam, if I can transfer all my progress & DLC's to the Steam version. (Sidenote: I will NEVER buy another game via Game Pass. Locking me out of game files for games I have purchased is stupid!)

they are trying to get cross Progression for Microsoft (Windows Store and XBox) and Sony (PlayStation) with the other platforms. They know the community wants it.

but at the moment nothing can be confirmed if or when it might come! Only Steam, Stadia and (soon) Switch are currently implemented

Thank you! I know it's not BHVR's fault. If I had known the Microsoft Store version was so awful & so restrictive to begin with, I would have never bought it there. I guess my only option is to deal with it until Steam cross-progression with Microsoft is available (crossing fingers) & then get it on Steam and move over.

It really sucks because the issues are almost game breaking for me & with all the research I've done, it seems to be an issue with the Microsoft launcher as well as a fix I could try IF Microsoft didn't lock me out of the game files, even after I purchased the game. At this point, MS has lost my business & I will strongly urge every one to never buy a game on their platform.

Sorry to bump this old post but you do know you can edit the game files in the MS store version too right? This has always been the case, so if that's your only issue you don't need to move to Steam.
