Slurs, encouraging harm, and threats should be immediate permanent bans.

Getting mad over a video game, yeah, whatever. People have moments. But there is a reasonable boundary to that. There is literally never ever an acceptable excuse for using slurs, encouraging IRL suicide/harm, or threatening someone. People don’t “accidentally” have a “heated gamer moment” saying a slur unless it was already in their vocabulary.

Before someone says something stupid like, ”You can just hide the text box.” The point is people shouldn’t HAVE to do that to not get told things like “I hope you get cancer” or worse. Apathy to a firmer stance is exactly what lets this type of behavior flourish. If you think an immediate permanent ban is too harsh, maybe realize you have it seriously backwards, and allowing people to continue to play after saying slurs, encouraging harm or suicide, or threats over a video game is the thing that’s too harsh. Also, before someone says something stupid like, “It’s just words,” don’t be disingenuous. Language is literally how people communicate with one another and nuances and aspects of language exist that affect the people communicating. That’s like saying, “Cheating is just having help moving some pixels on my screen better.”

half of the people in my matches should be permabanned then... you don't have idea about how much reports (with screenshots) i did and no one was banned... honestly i just ignore it, it's pointless arguing with those kind of "people" since they don't have nothing positive to say

BHVR should really reconsider adding in a system that bans you from using the pre/postgame chat.

If you cannot repeatedly try to be cordial to other gamers, then have a temp ban from the chat service for: 1 week/1month/2month etc etc

That's my experience.

I reported A LOT of players using RACIST slurs against me (with screenshots too) and nothing ever happens to them. I don't know why BHVR chooses to just ignore this kind of thing.

I also told this to Mandy here but she just ignored my post.

Gaming by nature is toxic. Games with the harshest rules are the games with the least amount of players and profits. Just because they don't fit the "gaming culture" model that is expected from them.

The appropriate action would be for the company to issue a MUTE BAN for foul or obscene language and suggestive texts.
If it is cheating it should be a suspension from ONLINE PUBLIC Matches.

I grew up in the era of online gaming where nothing was FILTERED at all. If a person played a game online. One-self had to be ready for the worst.

In my country (USA) you have a right to free speech, some will say but not hate speech, technically in America there's no such thing as hate speech (in constitution/legally) because it's hard to define exactly. You can't say anything however like yelling FIRE in a crowded movie theater or anything that may cause physical harm. Threats are looked at differently as well, especially if they're coming from the same person repeatedly. And there are hate crimes which are punishable.

I don't necessarily agree with all of this, but it is what it is. I'm on ps4 and can tell you I have no post game chat, but Sony is good at banning you, to the point it can be obnoxious (like Facebook) for using any cussword for instance in like a private message or on your profile and even in videos.

Gamers like this remind me of people stuck in traffic or that get cut off in traffic, get so heated in the moment they say stuff they don't mean, for the most part.

First of all, the legal right of free speech literally ONLY applies to the government not being able to take legal action against something you say (as long as it is not another crime such as slander/intent to cause harm/etc). It does NOT apply to private companies and domains. So no, it would not be applicable in the first place.

There is a difference in getting heated and in saying a slur/encouraging harm/threat. The latter is never ever excusable. People do not say slurs when they’re angry if the slur wasn’t already part of their vocabulary. And encouraging IRL harm/threats is absolutely unacceptable.
