Hillbilly has many things in his favor during the meta

For those unaware I’m one of the 5 Hillbillies left even his rework didn’t phase me.(Even though there were 300 reasons it was stupid and makes me wish the devs weren’t so stubborn). And he is my top main. And I think he his well suited for the meta.

1.Pre Drop pallets and Hold W. This is the most effective survivor strategy available. Killers have to waste their kicking and catching up. Hillbilly has an ability to shred pallets quick. And then immediately be up on them again.

2.The instant down burns through so many meta perks. His built in instant-down by passes Circle of Healing, Dead Hard, and Iron Will. And I hate those last two so much.

3. Hooks can be worth it for him. Personal experience. Hook trades work well with since he can down the saver right away and be upon the unhooked person quickly. And thanks to his mobility he can use perks like Pop or Resonance to his advantage quite well

That’s my take. Now let’s hope there’ll be 6 Hillbillies in the world.

Doesn't change the fact that trying to play him is tragic and he makes you wish you were playing other killers like Bubba or Oni. We live in the timeline where Bubba is considered to be way stronger than Hillbilly.

He deserves some love, dang it.

Bubba isn’t stronger. Certain things are stronger like the anti-loop. The pallet shred is the same. But, Bubba can’t do much against Hold W. Hillbilly can. And Hillbilly is the best mobility killer in the game. And COH has been hard for Oni while Hillbilly hasn’t cared. And they’ve been making him a little better more add-ons are useful and his animations are a little bit better. But, map designs have been brutal. (F U RPD)

I dunno, I think Bubba's just way more threatening these days. Aside from Flick Billy or Endu/Spirit fury builds Billy in most tiles can't really do much without some good mindgames.

What I mean by people wishing they were playing Bubba/Oni or even Blight - their powers don't punish you as much if you mess up and you can play around tiles a bit better than Billy can. They are also reward you more, for less effort if you get what I mean

You have to put in a lot of effort to play Billy well, would you agree?

Remember when all you'd see in red ranks was Billy and the occaisonal Nurse? And as a result everyone complained and hated Billy? Now it's an anti loop killer apocalypse and everyone seems to miss him. Oh how times change. I still play him though. He's still a strong killer, but they really screwed over his fun factor with the jank animation changes. That being said the chainsaw finish animation was recently somewhat improved thank god.

I agree though. In the hands of a great skillbilly he can still be a menace. If you're gonna be playing M1ly though it's not worth. Just play Bubba for better results.

Yes, I can confirm you do need good hours on Hillbilly. Compared to others. But, the versatility of his kit for me is worth it.

The thing is, Bubba is also adapted well to the current meta, even better than Billy is.

Ranged killers are also pretty good against holding W.

Billy isn't the only killer with a lot of mobility, nor is he the only one with an insta down (he's not the strongest killer with an instant down either)

My point is, Billy can be good, and I think he still is a pretty decent killer, but he will never be the best at anything. (btw I respect you for still maining Billy. I just find him so frustrating to play after overheat was introduced and all of his addons got replaced with gimmicky trash. Glad to see he still has his players.)

Combine that with really bad addons, having to micromanage like 3 different things at once (Chainsaw charge, overheat and the direction of the saw) and the fact that his collision/animations are wonky

Or you could just play bubba. "haha chainsaw go brrrr" as they say.

Sometimes I feel like the biggest problem with Billy is that he's been power crept by other killers. Billy curves can do some wild things, but they also take a lot of effort and are punishing to miss.

I've been playing a lot of Billy since Nurse feels awful post patch. He has some things going for him, but the maps make him super frustrating and can really suck the fun out of him. You basically have zero power on any indoor map or Haddonfield. So you're rolling the dice any time you queue up as Billy.

Haddonfield I’ve had luck the narrow pathways are in his advantage. RPD is possibly the worst map for him

Billy has always been strong. Even with the overheat he still has a lot going for him. I don't get why people act like he's a helpless beaten dog.

Despite the nerf I still think he's really fun to play. Don't have much experience with him but those juicy insta down saw kills are still 👌

yea once I got comfortable with billy and started maining him i started noticing that i dont give a ######### about 99% of the ######### that messed me up as pig or something. its super nice, hopefully it insentivises more people to play him

Sorry but post-rework, I would disagree he’s the best mobility killer in the game. He has almost worthless add-ons compared to his replacement, Blight. Who can maneuver and correct his mobility a handful of times, rather than one straight path.

Use to absolutely love Billy he's the first I really hooked onto and probably has a quarter of my total 800 killer hours alone but the rework really sapped a lot of the fun in his base kit out. I was the type to never use addons and it was always my goal to get through a game without using my m1 with him but he's certainly still strong. Not as powerful as he used to be but I've seen some people put him in like c tier which is just ridiculous.

Well a lot of people crutched on his insta saw addons but he also just feels a lot worse and clunkier now. Plus most of his addons now are hot garbage. His strong base kit still certainly makes up for it and he's still in the top 10 killers in the game to me. He's just harder to use effectively then most killers and doesn't get as much payout for the skill required as say even bubba. The required to master Billy is not below that of nurse, blight, or huntress but he doesn't have as good of addons as them or the impact and snowballing capabilities they have. Plus there are killers that take much less skill that I'd argue are better the him.
