Rage inducing double flashlight blinds
The most rage inducing thing in the game, is when survivors exploit game mechanics to do dirty #########.
Playing the killer is bad enough during normal matches, but then to have to deal with broken game mechanics adds salt to the wound.
Nothing more annoying than when a survivor who hides somewhere or just happens to be near when you get a down and gets the stun, and they get off your shoulders but during the animation they double blind you extending the stupid blind screen. Tell me how that's fair to be blinded again, while your already blind and still in mid animation so you can look down? To me that's cheap. And DC worthy gameplay.
You should not be able to keep blinding an already blinded killer who can't see especially mid animation where they can't counter it.
Thus game is broken man.

Sound like you didn't have lightborn on.

This. This is why lightborn.

Someone doesn't look at walls when they pick up.

Doesn't always work :)

I do when I'm near walls. I wasn't. It's not that they got a flashlight save. It's more or less about the double blind while I'm in mid animation. That's unfair.
Being able to blind while already blind is unfair in general but worse when the killer is In mid-animation and can't look away.
It needs to be fixed so the bs double blinding can't happen. A killer should only be able to get blinded once, until he can see again then be able to get blinded again. You know, actually be able to counter.

To be fair, even though looking at a wall usually works, they do sometimes get a lucky angle. 🤷♂️
I agree though, flashlights are seriously overrated, as a killer I'm happier when survivors are trying to use flashlights than tools and medkits. (And hell, I think firecrackers get more saves on me than flashlights, those are hard to see coming sometimes!)
1 -
Not so much hard to see coming but take a tenth of the skill to use. Just run up and drop it near the killer = guaranteed blind. At least you need to somewhat aim with a flashlight.
2 -
That's true, they're definitely easier to use. I guess the flip side is they're one use items, if they miss you have to recharge them somehow. Flashlights last a lot longer.

As much as I hate blind times, I think certain addons are more the issue. The duration can get quite long, especially if survivors chain two together because you're too blind to see you're being blinded a second time. Some people can power through that stuff on sound alone but for some players its so intense all you can do is move your mouse so you're looking straight up or down and wait it out.

Someone didnt play killer enought to know that surv sometimes can blind from behind you.
1 -
Chain blinding, you mean? Just look down/up (depending on if you're near a downwards/upwards staircase) and you're immune from being blinded further.
1 -
I disagree, flashbangs/firecrackers are harder to get saves on because of the earlier timing you need which means you have to be really close to the killer. only advantage it does give tho is that you can get saves when killer's facing a wall. plus firecrackers make a loud noise when dropped, it'll be hard to catch a killer off-guard when they're coming around a corner. dont know about flashbang sounds though.

Some one doesn't know how to look at a wall properly
1 -
Ya but you cant tell the devs that. They havent even learned how to balance the game yet and we are how many years later. (cough)

Firecrackers and flash bangs aren't nearly that easy to use my man. I wish they were but they really aren't. To get a flash bang save you need to either time it perfectly as the killer is picking up, or hope the killer is too new to under turning away for a second when they hear the sound of it being dropped. Which really doesn't happen unless you're at the lowest of low mmr

Like what do you want? Remove animation locks for killers, how're you not going to remove animation locks for survivors too? Getting survivors mid vault is like a third of my downs at least.
Small tip: If you down a survivor and the chase music does not immediately end but lingers 2 extra seconds, there's a survivor within 16 meters of you. Find them first if there were flashlights in the lobby.

wow your screen has the blind effect for 2 more seconds better dc

Being able to blind the killer from an angle not actually in their minuscule FoV has been a thing for a while. There are also some walls that survivors can blind through due to cracks/gaps (think the boarded window in killer shack)

I have no sympathy for those not chosen by our lord and savior, Lightborn. It is literally the strongest counter to anything in the game. If you hate bright lights, you better start praying.

If it doesnt work then you arent doing it right <3

When im hit with torch i look down while blind to avoid second hit. You can still move when blinded so quickly look at the ground. Yeah, its a form of face camping

I mean I use Shadowborn all the time and even then I only get FL saved once a game even if there are multiple flashlights.
To say Ive never had an issue with them is a lie, I have but its when I first start playing. Nowadays I find theyre the most fun item a Survivor can bring as its the only one that has an active interaction between both sides.
Its not hard to angle yourself in an awkward way for them or plant your face into a wall, every time I see some one complain about flashlights I cant help but think of that one reddit post" "This. This is why Lightborn"

Its not just a 2 click. Some survivors hit you over and over. I dont mind torches, its a cool challenge to look out for. And the fact we can still move while blind is interesting. Ive hit players while blind by lashing out. Raging over 2 clicks is a bit over the top. Its just a little annoying.

they literally cant blind you more then twice if you just look down
0 -
Locker save is pretty much exploit, lol
0 -
I rarely get hit twice. But looking down also makes it easy to hit a player using torch as you can see where the light beam comes from and follow it. Experienced survivors realise that and run.
0 -
Ahhh yes, everything survivors do that you don't like is an exploit :)
1 -
Considering how boil over abuse was pretty much considered as exploit and about to get fixed, it doesn't work that way.
0 -
What even is this sentence?
1 -
If you use your ears, you can usually get the hit on them if they're foolish enough to blind you twice. If you don't, you can at least hear, and move, in the direction they're going so you can get a quick hit on them and move into another chase.

it works 99% of the time unless its a hacker
0 -
Tbh killers should have a blind immunity for a few seconds after getting blinded
1 -
There are lockers where it is impossible to pull someone out of them without opening yourself up to a flashlight blind. If you've never seen it in action, its pretty bad.

Sounds like a skill issue tbh.
