Basement needs a rework

With the way basement is in its current state, it is extremely oppressive towards survivors depending on the killer and if they're camping basement. One thing I saw someone mention (I don't remember who) was if basement had 2 entrances instead of the one. Then killers can't sit and defend at the bottom of the stairs and try body blocking, and then multiple survivors can attempt to try and go for the save from 2 different angles. This may also help towards killer notorious for camping basement, like hag, trapper and bubba (probably wouldn't help much with bubba though because of the multiple down sweep).

Feel free to add to the discussion if there's something else you'd like to see change with the basement. This is just my thought on a simple thing that would balance it out for both sides. :)

    But it shouldn't be impossible to unhook someone if its basement trapper or basement bubba.

    The basement is meant to be a downside to the insanely strong structures that it always spawns by.

    You're meant to be at a massive disadvantage when dealing with the basement.

    So no two entrances would never work as its not meant to be something you can easily escape.

    I'm not saying unhooking should be easy. But it should be possible. And if a survivor gets hooked in there it doesn't mean they were near basement. Perks like agitation, iron grasp, mad grit, can get survivors far away into the basement. 2 entrances doesn't make it much less oppressive for survivors, its just meant to make it possible to unhook

    A major disadvantage makes sense. But impossible to unhook a survivor? I don't think that's the intended purpose of basement, it would still be a great place for killers to defend hooks but not impossible for a survivor to at least trade or unhook someone.

    Survivors can choose where they down, it's non issue.

    If anything, basement should be stronger for everyone... maybe add a teleport ability when someone enter there? things like that.

    If all maps were much more balanced then I'd say maybe but with the current state of game, killers can't afford to have basement taken away.

    I agree with most of the people on here. Dbd was originally a horror game that was survive or die so if you got caught in a tough place like basement then tough.

    Also if the killer is camping basement then you shouldn't even be bothering tying to save them. Heartless and unfun for the guy in basement but the most effective way would be to do gens while the killer waste their time. If you try to save them and are successful, good on you but if fail and get your entire team killed then that's just the game.

    Rescue isn't impossible. It's extremely difficult and not in your favor on purpose. That is exactly how it is supposed to be.

    Basement Bubba is impossible to get a save, unless the bubba is a dingus.

    It is, but can be countered easily by not getting closer to basement.

    I play both sides and the amount of times I/my teammates get camped in the basement (rare) isn't often enough to warrant such a change. Sometimes basement camping happens and we all hate basement camp Bubba but it's just not encountered enough to punish all the killers. When I began playing killer, I found basement really useful because I knew people weren't going to run around sabo-ing hooks down there at least. DBD is supposed to be a scary game and I like that there's one place you definitely need to avoid as survivor or go in there knowing the risks.

    Just came into the basement chat to say - wouldn't it be awesome if killer got to decorate the basement as part of their cosmetics? Like idk, put christmas lights down there on the holidays or have creepy TV sets watching you Ringu-style or like for the Artist maybe have it look like a crow's nest or something? I think that would be so neat!

    Almost impossible yes, at very least you need to go there healthy and with borrow time ready and you are going to lose both these 2 things.

    But this is the way it is supposed to be.

    Always remember, BEFORE asking a nerf for the killer ask yourself if the killers, in the actual meta, can afford to lose that thing.

    Really wish both basements spawned in a map. Really awful getting Badham and not getting the basement in the main building.
