Does blocking prevent going in to same lobby?
so i block a lot off people in hope off not getting them in same game anymore but does it do it thou?

But it was abuseable in overwatch. So they changed it to only block people from being on your team and you only get 3 slots. Before you could block anyone, including enemy players that were better than you.
They changed it around the time a high mmr widow player inquired about why their queue times were always so long, only to find out that they were blocked by a massive amount of people.

they have a system that you can avoid max 3 players for 7 days so i dont see how that would be abusable ?

You may be shocked to find out how often not losing is considered the most toxic thing an opponent can do in DBD.

For that I wouldn't be totally against if it also had a limit or reset totally at some point just so people don't put themselves in perma-queue. But I did like way back when you could see the rank of your teammates. Then you could take a deep breath and willingly take the plunge when you saw you're teammates were all brown rank.

People used to be able to do this with mods but what ended up happening is that people would always block people who beat them causing legitimate infinite queues.
Also even if you don't abuse it you're still stuck with the consequences because a single other player can screw over the entire lobby with their blocks.
All of this resulted in the mod that caused it to be banned and permanently unusable to save the game's health/Queue times.

You could easily change that by having a lower priority to queue with certain people, but that the need to queue always overrides the lower priority if everyone blocks you.
If I block someone, it's not necessarily that I never want to play with or against them, it's simply that I dont want to play with or against them if possible.

Yes but whit those conditions that i said you would still be against it ? And i am meaning that survivors can avoid each others. Killers can never be avoided or basement bubbas and toxic killers can never get a game :D (in my opinion it would be right to them)

This was in the game using a 3rd party program back in 2017-2018. It caused problems and was ultimately removed when one of the best nurse players couldn't even get a game because everyone had them blocked,.

aaaaaand this is exactly why it won't, and should not, happen. It's an abusable system that has already happened in the past in the form of MLGA (Make Lobbies Great Again). Good players were unable to get any lobbies at all because everyone and their dog had them blocked because they didn't want to play against someone better than them.

Because there WAS a block function at one point, and the best DBD players ended up blocked by so many salty babies that they had 20+ minute queue times.
I don't care how overwatch does it; it was abused here.

probably people will not block for that and if they do its gonna be only couple (if you are not toxic or troll) :) and it has time reset like ow :) so its not gonna affect your que times like at all :D

Nah killers get too big que times probably if they play like they want to win aka camp and tunnel so only survivors eachother

That's not true at all.
Anyone who has played DBD for more than 20 hours knows that this community will absolutely abuse the ######### out of that. "people won't block for that" people will block you for running a charm they don't like

Well ow has it and the que times are 1-7 mins depending on the role you play :) and it needs 12 players rather than 5 +ow is consireded dead game now days so i think que times should stay about same than now :)

Yes if you count console players but pc and console players cannot go comp togheter and about half maybe over than that is console players. So its about same. + ow has to find 3 different roles wich each have 4 players in its mm :)

i checked and yes you are right ;( this game has 50k monthly players o_0 and its going down a lot :( i thought this game was much bigger (and ow has like 2m pc players) like if ow is considered dying game then dbd is murder victim that has been burried long time ago 0_0

You can't compare that. Dbd don't had that much players to begin with like ever cause it's a rather unique type of game compared to ow wich is a team shooter and it comes from a giant that had a enormous fan base bevor ow even came out so many got into it. Ow sadly is kinda dead cause blizz screwed up so much in every game they make atm

The reason why I brought up player counts is because overwatch can afford people blocking and avoiding eachother and not have a big impact on search times dbd can't afford to as it will literally cause extremely long search times like extremely longer than the times we have rn

i mean people like to watch dbd you can see it from only from otz videos that get like 300k views per video atleast so lot off people know about the game but dont wanna play it cos off the big af grind/balance issues/getting camped at hook/cheaters and other fun stuff like that so yes the game is dying. and this game is really hard to bring friends to too cos how hard it is at the start if you dont know anything of the game. Atleast from my experience :D most of my friends just die couple first games and say ######### it too hard :D

i agree on the mmr part. Old system was much better cos it meant you had to do more than escape or get kills. And yes cheaters can be anoying if they are one of those ”trying to hide cheats” but i dont mind meme hackers who just fly and ######### a around. And it isnt that many hackers if you turn off crossplay so the epic games free to play cheaters cannot come against you.

I had some dude take my game hostage for 2-8 hours on New Year's Eve.
I just started streaming it so that I could watch it at the party I was going to. He was still t-bagging when I checked in 2 hours after I left, so it was good to know he had nothing better to do.

I respectfully disagree. We should be able to block players who are cheating or sabotaging the team via trolling. There is no ranking system to see who is number one/top 500, like a sports, FPS, or a fighting game.
The game should have a block list you can toggle to take players off, and it should let you know your que times may increase due to blocking other players. There should be a cap as well like maybe 20- so it doesn’t punish good players with a smaller pool, for being good. But that’s not going to happen. Only in a perfect world.

Yes because then lots of salty people will block a teammate for making one mistake and then they're being punished for simply not being up to snuff.
