Cenobite Box Gold Border?
I just played against Cenobite and as him and I couldn't figure this out. What's the significance of the amount of gold that the portrait outer-area is filled in?

that's an indicator for how long the person with the box has before they get hit with chain hunts.

Hmm. Really? I'm not talking about the blue-ish chain outer-area.
I'm talking about when it's gold and someone is mid-solving the box.
When it's fully filled in, it means chain hunts are already going?
Damn, I thought it was a distance thing.

While someone has the box, Chain Hunt still progresses, just only on them. The timer can still fill up while someone's holding the box.

Interesting. Thanks.

yeah, if they don't solve it, they'll get chained like they normally would, but only them.

And the gold cog border would continue to fill up? Because from what I saw, it did not change. Whether in chase or solving it.

It should? It moves slowly, but it does charge up over time. I can't think of a situation in which the timer would halt.
Do you mean the frame itself? The cog will be static when the player is just carrying the box and rotate when they're solving the box.

it fills over time like the chains, but once full, will only target the person with the box.
it also visually replaces any progress the chains have when the box is picked up.
if you play some ceno, you'll see it pretty quickly.

Played some before posting this and didn't see it. Hmm.
I'll see if I can get a clip next time on Twitch.

Unless it's already full it should fill itself up, yes.
