STOP instantly judging how good or bad killers are on day 1.
I recognize that some people are just giving their first impressions, and that's perfectly fine. However, a first impression would be like saying "This killer seems kinda bad/ kinda OP, but I can't be sure yet", not "THIS KILLER IS F TIER FKJSDKJDN"
There are so many strategies, techs, and builds with the killer that are waiting to be discovered. Instantly deciding how good or bad they are isn't a smart thing to be doing.
"But Doritohead, this killer is F tier! (or overpowered) This time it's true, I promise!"
I'm not suggesting that Sadako is either strong or weak. In fact, I don't have any opinion about how strong she is at all, and that's ok. Time will tell if this killer is good or not.

Honestly just from reading her power and perks, shes going to have issues due to the game balance atm.

Im just gonna say she's mid with the current state of how dbd is played. Same problem with pig, all you can do is hold W on loops and eat the pallet but has actually good 1v4 potential. Overall great mobility with the TV's but is recommended (by me personally) to have at least 1 chase perk.

I'm excited for her, but until some QOL changes are made to matchmaking and Killer gameplay I don't see her doing anything except giving other Killers new perks to play. I could be wrong but my opinion.
For now though I see myself running Tinkerer, Brine, Fearmonger, and Im all Ears on her

I mean, she is an m1 killer who can teleport. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out how she plays into this.
If there were like something new that we didn't understand, sure. But everything is recycled.

I agree. Now I haven't been on the forums long enough today to see what people have been saying but I agree some people decide a killer is too weak/strong way too quickly. People do the same things with perks also.

I didn’t get excited this go around. Hopefully she will be fun but I won’t fully know until I try her out. Too bad they don’t do the splinters anymore.

I mean... Her power is really simplistic and it's super obvious the kind of playstyle that the devs imtented her to have. She is clearly a hit n run killer in a game where hit n run is the worst thing you could possibly do

This game really isn't that complicated all these strategies and perks normally coke down to strategies that are already around so when a old strategy works to counter a new killer the majority of said strategy is already perfected.
There is really only 3 things a survivor can do vs a killer loop,w key, or hide once one of these are know as effective against said killer the majority of the community already knows how to do said strategy.

The game came out in 2016 and has had almost zero major updates to its core gameplay loop in that time You are either a 110/115% killer with either a bad/meme tier power or very heavy zoning/anti-loop potential. Sadako is a killer who is an all or nothing (literally get 7 stacks of her debuff and kill the survivor or it doesn't matter at all) who has TONS of counter play in that regard(popping out of a tv is only +1 , there is no natural gain over time unless you choose to grab a video tape and NOT go solve). Solving is a -4 to the counter. Explain to me how the math works where you can reliably make use of her power against anyone who has a brain and knows what she is about. If we remove her tv shenanigans she is literally a worse wraith+Fredddy.
Edit: They had SUCH good ideas with pinhead and debuffs, I don't understand why they didn't do something like nix the mori completely and make status effects happen per level so that sadako can get value out of her power the entire game + punish survivors who choose to not get rid of her debuff. Instead of that we got "hey you should really only be concerned when you are at 4+ stacks and then go solve".

People try to act like this game is so complicated when it's really not. Sure it's got some things that are harder then others but the overall skill ceiling in this game isn't that high.

We can tell she's gonna be terrible because she hasn't got an ability that can beat the top. Survivors can just pop a tape in and get rid of your ability you've been building up on them for the past 4 teleports. Sure, it's slowdown. But it slows her game plan down more than it does the survivors'. Hit and run was dead even before CoH was a thing, because all people had to do was bring medkits. So why now would they release a hit and run killer? This killer is pandering af to the survivors, with built-in counters and everything else.

I agree, and honestly I've defnded Sadako in a previous post ripping into her by saying:
"I... don't think you are giving her enough credit. Yeah she's a basic M1/RT killer, but she has many advantages that you aren't counting, and her iri addon that turns on 4 tvs after she manifests (and hits a survivor in 8 seconds) is broken at hell in chases! I realized this after 3 matches as her: she has ridiculous pressure if you know how to use it, and the fact that she can shift between ghost and manifested without any drop to her movement speed is crazy good (way better than wraith)!
I'm still toying with her, but overall... I actually think she's a lot of fun so far. I also believe that the fact that she's limited to being an m1 killer is everyone's biggest gripe, but when you have this level of pressure/mobility... that actually feels fair in my book.
honestly the only gripes I have with her so far revolve around her perks and add-ons, Especially the Perk that gives survivors 1 chance per second to hit a "great skill check" when the gen is 90% done... SERIOUSLY? NO KILLER IS GONNA USE THAT! Sigh... Hopefully they fix those things in a few more updates."
She definitely has her strengths and weaknesses, but overall I'm enjoying her so far, but the bottom line is that this is still a PTB, and thus not a representation of the actual live game in any way. If the devs did something to incentivize players in to play the PTB, we'd get a better idea of how the new killer/mechanics/perks feel to play with or oppose, because more people would be playing the PTB. I also already gave my own suggestions for this in another post here:
And I hope as least some of these suggested incentives make the cut for future PTB's. Otherwise, the PTB simply can't be seen as a trusted source of actual player feedback, and is pretty useless.
I like Sadako/The Onryo so far, and like what she brings to this game. Too many are writing her off as a worse Wraith or Freddy, when in reality she's actually better than both, but you just have to play her longer than an hour, and discover her strengths, in order to find that out. So many complaints are coming out about the killer too soon after they are introduced via PTB... and none of them should be trusted at all. Instead it's best to Give it time, let people get the hang of the new killer, and then we can respect any gripes about them (although Ghost Faces PTB was legendarily bad, so yeah, there are exceptions to this rule... but the current PTB is no where near as bas as that imo). Otherwise, Complaining this early? You're just blowing smoke in the open air, and not even enough to get up our asses!

She has incredible map pressure combined with a mandatory secondary objective that can kill. That has to be OP, especially with a strong killer meta.

100% agree with this. There have been several times an early assumption about a killer has been completely overturned; the Blight was one of those who initially was said to be "weak" by some. One day is a poor basis for judgement.

The difference is that Blight works entirely different from any other killer. The only hypothetical way for Sadako's early impressions to be wrong is if the condemned mechanic was actually consistently killing people. But given the power is a tool for the survivor to manage, like???
Sometimes early assumptions are just going to be the way it is. Not everything is so nuanced that we need weeks to understand something we have already had years to understand...

That's not even the only difference with Blight.
Blight's ptb was an old build with messed up collision detection that was adjusted for the live build. Not only that, but Blight didn't even have the ability to break pallets base kit as that was added to him later and his own PoV was so low it caused him to struggle at many loops, because he couldn't see over them but survivors could see him. They've also adjusted his turn rate a few times as well.
Today's Blight is significantly different than PTB Blight that using it as a comparison of people being wrong about killer strength on the ptb just shows how out of touch the person is.

In some cases yes but you can objectively see that a Killer that doesnt has a chase power is worse then any other Killer in the game. You can try to make any argument you want or try to make the power look nice, as long as there is no chase or loop ability the Killer will be weaker compared to others. If that is something bad or not is up to you, I wouldnt mind having a weaker Killer, not every new killer doesnt need to break the meta or beat the other top tier killers.
But the complains are definatly valid, the new Killer is basicly a new Myers or Freddy, that makes her pretty boring.

No. If I see the killer is M1 killer with weak side effect power (that slow stacks of instakill) + recycled power we allready seen more times, it's easy to kinda know where the killer will go.
I don't need 10+h and major from that killer to see on avarage if they will preform well or not.

I'd suggest not reading the PTB forum if you don't want to see such posts. This is precisely the place for such feedback and generally speaking I'd say experienced killers give fair first impressions assessment. There's always pinch of salt as PTB can only give a limited impression due to the vastly smaller player pool and how that impacts matches.

Evaluating strenght is not the point no, but obvious flaws should be pointed out so the devs are aware of them. Thats exactly what the PTB is for

False equivalence and just wrong in general. I hate to break it to you but the Blight on PTB release wasn't the Blight people play today so actually yeah it was a very valid take at that time period. His FOV was extremely low which gave people trouble running tiles correctly and he was even more wonky with his collision than he is still today. Peoples' PTB judgment has actually been accurate for quite a while. People always say this and then 2 months later wind up agreeing with the people that initially ranked them

I heavily disagree and I'm sure many people can back me up when I say that this game is not that deep for you guys to keep saying this same thing every single time there's new characters in the PTB. Does it take only 1 match to find out a characters' potential? No, but you guys also try to stretch it as if any feedback is invalid as if it takes 2 years to figure out the truth. Its a casual party game with pretty binary gameplay, its not that deep to analyze. The meta is very transparent and the majority of the time people are actually accurate when ranking characters as they're still fresh.
Perfect example of people in PTB: Trickster is fun but just a weaker Plague. You can stomp babies and down people fast at hooks or short loops but that's it. Mid-tier at best and needs something else to make him viable
You guys: He just came out, you're not using him correctly so I'm sure this will change. Give it time, you can't accurately judge in such a short time
Also You guys 2 months later: Yeah he's pretty weak, mid tier at best. *Agrees with everything people said in the PTB within the first couple of days*

The killer power is not rocket science,it doesn't take weeks to make a general opinion about how weak or strong a killer is.
I think everyone agrees she is on the weaker side and she's not even mid tier,her power is almost useless.

I know this game well to judge a killer day 1, and sadako will not be used at all in this meta, I'll see her for a couple of days after release and then back to nurse/blight simulator, only at low MMR will be used a lot

She really reminds me to demo in a way( like even before removal you saw 1 demo every 100th game or so) and the add on reliance (for demo the rat liver , for her the anti heal)

Some killers with more intrincate chase powers like Pinhead can't be judged by very few hours, in fact Pinhead was considered weak at first and that was wrong, but that's not the case of Sadako.

Because Blight was garbage in the PTB, his hitboxes were messed up and required more than a patch to fix that and playing him without colliding with non-existent objects.
