I don't like killing
So I actually enjoy playing killer but dont like killing the survivors. I know how long their queues sometimes are and it sucks if they are the first ones out and in the end I really just want everyone to have fun. Like I enjoy the chases and mind games that the killers do and I 100% hook people, 2x but I just feel bad hooking them the third time, unless they leave someone to die on hook then I lose all mercy (killing yourself excluded). This used to be fine but because of the MMR system the caliber of survivors I am going against has dropped pretty far.
I didn't really mind it when it was a small gap. I got to do some nice things like drop a survivor and pick them back up to help another time the flashlight right, or give them more practice with looping. And I still don't really mind the gap except I feel like I am bullying because of how fast I am able to do hooks vs them doing gens. Like I have a max of 8 hooks without someone dying and there are a few games where all 8 get done before a gen gets popped. And I don't want to hold the game hostage if the survivors aren't having fun. Like if they want to meme around I am all for it but I just had a Feng wave me over to a hook and ask for death, and idk that feels bad too.
I have had a few killers meme around be it challenges or had other survivors afk or whatever and I still enjoy those games but I don't want make the survivors stuck in a game just doing gens.
I know I can get my MMR back up by just murdering people but as stated earlier eliminating people from the game isn't the part I find enjoyable. I am just wanting the opinion of other survivors out there, does this sound like a nice killer or is it a mercy killing them sending them onto their next game. If nothing else survivors get in the 20ks of BP and thanks to bbq I am generally getting around 60+ (assuming no bloody streamers) so I know its not a total waste but... IDK

I thought this was going to lead into a Joshua Graham quote and follow with:
"But when done righteously, its a chore like any other"
The only kinds of survivors I feel bad for are one with an afk/dc'd teammate at 5 gens or actual baby survivors.

I can only speak for myself but I don't like when someone gives me a pity escape or kill or whatever. I'd rather lose and they played well then them give me a meaningless point or whatever.

I usually don't like "playing for real." In most cases, I don't get any kind of enjoyment from killing survivors. That's not to say never (definitely not saying never), but in general I just like using my power and screwing around. When I play killer, I can get 29k (before BBQ) if I double-hook everyone; killing the survivors and taking away 5k+ from them wouldn't net me that much more in BP, so mathematically speaking it's a poor trade-off.
The least fun I have in this game is trying to pip as both survivor and killer, because this game's mechanics are better for memeing than for taking anything seriously.

Survivor queues can be long but no sensible survivor is going to be mad at you for killing them first assuming not camping or tunneling them. Honestly some will be annoyed if you don't kill them when it's their time, you can't please everyone.
And as you said you not killing means you're going against babies. Getting stomped most of the match then set free might be nice for them in terms of points but ideally they should go other newbies. Be cruel to be kind.

I run mostly meme add ons/non meta perks for this reason. When I play meta with iri add ons it usually just feels like I stomped someone hard in the face for no reason. Since I use a lot of bloodpoint buffing perks too (Distressing, etc) their deaths isn't as important to me as the adventure.
Sometimes 2 hooking everyone and having them drop their items at the exit gate is more satisfying than destroying them.
Sometimes.

As a survivor main Ill throw my two cents in. I do not mind getting killed as long as it was fair and a good match. If it was tunneling/camping, or other generally unsportsmanlike conduct ill be rightfully pissed, but if the killer is doing their thing and just outplays me? I cant be mad at that.

I feel ya. Most of my killer games result in a complete steamroll(at least 5 hooks before 2 gens are popped). I almost always let the last survivor get hatch. Hell, what is the point in me killing everyone when I know for a fact I'm double pipping? I've even let entire teams finish gens because not a single gen was done in 6-8 hooks and I know I've already double pipped. I'm mainly a survivor so maybe I just have empathy, but literally what can I do more than double pip? There's nothing for me to do at that point other than ######### around.

Don't kill anyone until everyone has been hooked twice. Then, kill three and give the last hatch or gate. Players are happier if they have an opportunity to play the game and you just gave them one. Very few people and only the most entitled ones would complain about that.

But sometimes as a killer you can tell that a team brought down a certain survivor. They did really good in chase and everyone else went down in like 20 seconds. Alot of time I'll give hatch or let them open the gate because the got screwed and I feel they earned it.

I guess there is no right or wrong here. There will be survivors who appreciate that you don't kill them and there will be survivors who call you a bad killer, cause some people are never satisfied: they want more friendly killers, if you are friendly the will call you boring and bad. If you kill them you are toxic and unfair. The best thing you can do is play how YOU want. I really like that you want everyone to have fun and if you have fun as well...perfect! If this playstyle feels good for you, don't change it!

Killing people is the role of the Killer. I mean, it's in the name.
This game is ultimately based in the threat of death and the (relative) powerlessness of the survivors to stop it. It's a core mechanic and the objective of the Killer is to get as many kills as possible. Obviously, the path to getting there is where the fun is, and I don't think there is anything inherently bad with letting survivors live or anything. I occasionally let people go out of amusement one or two matches, but generally I do try to kill people, since again, Survivors and Killers are opposing teams and no one in this game owes you anything either.
And besides it's not really a big deal. If you get killed as a survivor, even if you got face-camped, the worst that happened is that you lost 2 minutes before going back to queue and spending, what, 5 more maximum? I know time is valuable, but it really isn't that important. I do feel that SBMM has messed up this though, cause sweats and for-fun people now find themselves way more often and a lot of people feel more pressured to be competitive.

Its alright. I am getting a lot of teammates who dont like surviving too
2 -
You literally can not double pip without killing everyone.

You can in the lower grades
0 -
Well yes, but like.. do you gonna suddenly start killing once you hit higher grade or what.

Now the entity is gonna be displeased with you.

Well i personally also don't like to cut someones fun short by killing them early.
I see myself more like a BP grinding crash test dummy for survivor. I give them the excitement of a "real"/normal trial, until they are all on death hook and then it depends on how far they have gotten and how they behaved during the trial.
- More than 1gen left? => slowly kill them one after another
- BM? => your are dead (if i can catch you)
- gates powered? => I take the gate opening points for myself (if i haven't maxed deviousness already) and out with you
- DC? => Same but you get to escape either way. Maybe some BP farming too if wanted.

Idk. Ask @herbaljellyfish

Sometimes a meme match is fun, but not all the time. Playing normally is better for me as a survivor or killer. I hate farming tho.

I said I was a survivor main. I play killer when I want to take a break so I usually don't go beyond gold grades.
