Dev's game on the stream
When will there be a stream where the developers will play the game for several hours? In my opinion, it would be a fun sight) And it would make developers reconsider their development vector and solutions.

I know for a fact that Almo and Peanits both stream sometimes, and not_Queen used to in the past.

Even if they do, they are at low MMR and the game is easy down there, I'd love to see them playing against blight every single game that camp/tunnel with the usual build to slowdown gens

Working on a game for 40 hours a week, then playing many hours in your free time is the fastest way to have a burn out.
Game designers understand game design, know how to design a game, know all the details that are needed to be able to design a game that people want to play. A designer doesn't necessarily have to be great playing that game to understand the mechanics of it and how to play the game or how it's played.
Many of us in the team play on our free time - not many of us stream it, I've streamed a few times but I don't enjoy streaming. And many that do stream do not even say they're developers because they'd rather enjoy their stream time without being constantly asked about their work - pretty understandable there.

A lot of them do or at least did in the past. And some of them are actually pretty cracked

isnt one of the (rightful) complaints that new players can get matched against very experienced and skilled players?
also, can you tell me a streamer that is so high mmr that they only get matched against blights every single match? All streamers I sometimes click on that have ‚high mmr‘ in their title don’t have that problem. Although they certainly are not high mmr from how they are playing..

please separated working and gaming bruh. i know how burn out are you when you already working hard in front of PC/computer to do 3D, designing etc. on their free time they must be taking their time to beer, or hang out with friends and family. They have their own life. But maybe they sometimes playing their game for only chilling.

Unfortunately, as the community has demonstrated time and time again, being a dev and making any comment on the game is an invitation for the ignorant majority to misinterpret what you're saying to fit their preconceived notions, and then throw all the toys out of the pram thereafter.
There's been at least two major examples that I can recall.

Agreed... but who's to judge whether something is silly or not?
Case in point is the latest meme re: what Patrick mentioned about skill. From a developer perspective, what he said makes perfect sense (I made a whole post on this already so no need to rehash here). The problem is the community at large didn't understand what he said/meant because of the ambiguous nature of the term "skill" (from a developer perspective, it is the correct term) and thus presumed he said something dumb and meme-worthy. And there's literally no convincing people otherwise.
The ignorant masses are not in the position to determine whether someone who knows more about a subject than them said something silly when chances are it's the masses that have misunderstood. But again, convincing the masses of that is not going to happen because far too many sit very happily to the far-left of the Dunning-Kruger effect curve.

Seems to be the trend here.
People demand/ask for more communication, but when it is given people (hopefully different from the first group, but not always) tend to either use that information to be petty and toxic arguing with other users, or just use it to be ######### to the dev. As a result, we end up with fewer devs willing to get harassed just for trying to let people know what's going on

the issue is that people clump everyone together. Its not everyone being toxic. Its a group of people, not all dbd players are like this. Theres an old saying "the smart people listen to the wise and fools. The wise know the difference." The devs need to learn this

They dont have to be. Only because you are doing one thing frequently does not mean that you can do the same thing on the other side and have to be good at it.
E.g. I am pretty good at eating, but this does not make me a good Cook.
I am also very knowledgeable in a Trading Card Game, because I am organizing and Judging this TCG. But that does not mean that I have to be a good player as well.

People playing often enough to stay "high mmr" or whatever you want to call it, are far too close to the system to objectively analyze it. All of us here are doing nothing more than trading in anecdotes, pretending they are evidence of things that we don't have the resources to see. The devs (ideally) are able to see the bigger picture. It's not just knowing the mechanics, it's having access to the real data, the kill rates, pick rates, item and perk rates. All of it.

If their opinion was bad, sure. It has nothing to do with anyone's experience. Bad design is bad design. There is a lot of good in DBD that is commonly criticized and there is a lot of bad that people just take for granted. I do not care if they went to game design school and got a PhD or if they are a professional player that scrims 16 hours a day. I care about their take.

I mean game balance is pretty different from cooking or simply knowing basic knowledge of a game. If all it would require to balance DBD is someone who just know the basics of the game then literally any player who has more than 10 hours would be able to balance it according to you. You should at least be able to hold your own against high level opponents when balancing a game especially when you're only balancing around your own skill level.

Yes. Because stuff like this will always cause problems. Even if someone is good at the game this does not mean that they will be good at balancing the game. Some ideas I have seen from Content Creators are just terrible. (e.g. the frequent idea of one Content Creator to put a Debuff on SWFs)
And while I think I have some decent knowledge of the game, I know that others would find some of my ideas terrible (and some will probably be terrible, because I am not really able to see the whole picture of the game aside from my own matches as Killer or Survivor).
And then, if you have Content Creators with those good players, you will have the problem with their communities. Why is Content Creator A in the position to balance the game but Content Creator B is not?
And you think, for being able to balance a game it is enough to just play it a lot and get good at it? This is really wrong.
Personally I think that the Devs have way more knowledge in game design and game balance than every Forum Warrior (myself included).

Well I mean yeah how else would you know the existence of certain strats, whats meta, what characters are good which aren't, how most matches in high ranks go, how one action or thing can be problematic etc etc. If you don't we get the game in its current state. Only balanced by numbers and stats that have no variables at all. Also especially if, as I said earlier, you're only balancing based on your own skill level.

I mean, it sounds a whole like you're saying that since some people in the community put forth bad ideas that all ideas from the community should be ignored. Why can't we just, y'know, not generalize, and evaluate each suggestion on a case by case basis? Good ideas are good ideas, and bad ones are bad, no matter who puts them forth.
On another note, while I respect the training and experience of game designers, this game is so big and so bloated with mechanics, and has so many people working on it, that they need to have a greater than average understanding of the vast majority of the working parts of the game in order to make meaningful improvements. And that is not the impression I get from the devs. While they do make many good changes, they also either: make good changes at such a glacially slow place that makes people frustrated with how long they took (ex: keys, hatch, moris); bury their heads in the sand about obvious problems (ex: Almo saying on stream he liked to kill people who used old Object of Obsession then defending the perk's design on a Q&A by saying that the stats show people who used old Object didn't necessarily escape more.) (Granted they did change it, eventually, but anyone with half a brain could see how problematic that perk was in a game where you can play with your friends and use external coms.); or just make plain bad changes (ex: adding old Mettle of Man, which was obviously stupidly overpowered to everyone, then later soon nerfing it to the ground, making it seem like a shady bait-and-switch cash grab); or make statements that show how disconnected they are from what the game is actually like despite having all the data and technical knowledge of how to make a game.
I could go on, but really it boils down to this: their good changes take too long, and meanwhile they either don't address longstanding issues, make bad changes, or put theirs foots in their mouths when they say something stupid (and then take away cosmetics from people who call them out on it). While I sympathize with their situation, there's a reason that a lot of people think that the devs are incompetent, and it has nothing to do with bad ideas that community members put forth (though I do commend the devs for not implementing those bad ideas).
