Fair Change To Boons???

I was scrolling through Reddit and I saw a post about this change.

A survivor cannot bless a totem more than once.

If you think about it this may help alleviate the nonsense of boons.

This would be a GREAT start toward balancing these things out.

Opinions????

There's no point in going for boon-wide nerfs when only CoH is OP, and the rest of the boon perks range from mediocre to trash-tier.

CoH could do with a longer bless time, a shorter range, and a cooldown.

Aside from coh i agree with the devs when it comes to sweeping changes to boons: not necessary.

Coh should have that nerf, that would be great.

nah this would destroy all boons when only circle of healing is a problem

Snuffing just needs to break the totem. That way boons can be replaced but it'll be limited and would require more thought into when to put down a boon.

I think there is something we are overlooking as a community- Scourge Hooks. They are the killers’ “boons.” And they are getting better with every update. The new one with Onyo that lets the killer see aura’s after unhooks for six seconds is going to be very strong. Imagine that on a god tier Huntress/Artist or a killer already mind gaming a chase at a tall tile? Scourge Hooks can’t be snuffed out. In the right hands, this is going to be a problem. I can see the DC salt: “how did he find me?? F this.”

Let survivors have their boons. They’re overrated IMO.

    They're already balanced.

I saw the word Reddit and I was instantly skeptical, this rework should only apply to COH. Shadow Step, Dark Theory, and Exponential all rely on their effect taking place over time.

Here's the thing other than CoH the other Boons are in a good place besides being allowed to be re blessed over and over again....

So here are the changes to CoH I think are fair.

-Boons has 3 tokens when blessing a totem.

-CoH and Medkits and perks don't stack with each other

Boons won't lose any more range and CoH will keep it's normal boots just not get stacked with Medkits and Perks.

And the Tokens will make it a risk and reward to using Boons

Shadow Step is very powerful on indoor maps, especially multi-level maps like The Game (which is bad enough just for it's role as Pallet-Breaking Simulatror) It's very easy to lose LOS and without scratch marks plus aura blocking over both floors it's highly effective.

Shadow step can break game in plenty of maps, it's another problematic boon beside CoH.

  • Reduce the sound notification by half, increase the range a small amount and make them a 1 time bless, you bless a totem once and that's it, no more boons once it's snuffed, period. A hex that you can pick the spawn in essence.

I think only SWFs really use boons. I rarely see them in my games. I have never and probably will never run a boon perk. When I do see it, I see people waste a lot of time running all the way across the map to heal instead of just letting their two teammates heal them. I think CoH is just unhealthy for both survivors and killers. And I'm a survivor main.

I'm not sure on how I'd nerf boons, since CoH is the one creating problems. Any game as a survivor where a CoH is well placed, is a half-won game, at least against killers who can't deal with survivors constantly on full health. Games where CoH is randomly placed or the one placing the boon is like hardcore focused on booning instead of doing anything else, well, those games feel a little lost.

I think that when a boon is snuffed, the totem should become "damaged". Blessing a damaged totem takes 7 seconds longer. This way, repeatedly blessing the same totem isn't as uncounterable and snuffing boons might actually be a good use of time for killer.
