is it worth it to be p3?

I like the prestige cosmetics but is it worth it?

The cosmetics are the ONLY reason to do it right now. There is really no other noticeable benefit.

All i can say is, do what you feel like.

Imo prestige does nothing for me and i don't like the cosmetics either, on killer P1 is nice with the blood dripping from the weapons but that's all.

    Prestiging < 7 pages of t3 perks

As a killer or survivor? You actually always want to p3 survivors for the higher quality nodes and it depends on the killer for their addons whether you prestige or not

Well, yeah, that's the big question. There is supposed to be some vague "you will get better/higher rarity drops from the bloodweb" with higher prestiges, but that's not really felt that much, and it isn't taking into account that for quite some killers the iri and purple add-ons might be strictly worse then the brown or yellow ones. You are paying through the nose for a super vague bonus and some bloody cosmetics of the base outfit, but if you already for some other outfit via rift or an event, then that might not even be worth it.

I would love for some real tangible reward, like "all perks are upgraded by your prestige level" or "at p3 you can reroll the bloodweb for 10k BP", or best of all, give us just a bloody shader that can be applied via a checkbox to all cosmetics! It wouldn't look as good as the hand crafted ones we got now, but I bet that a lot of people wouldn't mind at all, if they could bloody up their favorite cosmetics.

Only if you want the bloody cosmetics.

You do, but you'd only notice that you get pink and purple ones more consistently. The "gains" are that the pink roll gains a 10% chance of rolling, the purple one gets a 20% chance of rolling and the green one gets a 30% of rolling. This effectively lowers the amount of grey and yellow things you get from bloodwebs. Which is a good thing for quite a lot of killers and especially for survivors.

There is 1 big issue though. Most rolls will be green due to map offerings being green.

To make prestige in DBD more worth it:

For killers, make map offerings grey, builds rarely rely on maps but if they do, its a pain to get the maps you need just so you can use a build. For survivors, rework the item and addon rarities. It's all over the place. Once thats done, push map offerings either in their own rarity or make them pink. It's overall easier for 1 survivor to have a map offering, so if a build relies on it, odds are that your friend has one anyway.

If you were to re-distribute survivor addons with killer addon rules(4,5,5,4,2). You should have 11 greys, 14 yellows, 13 greens, 11 purple and 6 pink addons. Right now, you have 12 greys, 23 yellows, 10 greens, 7 purples and 3 pinks. That means 1 grey one should become yellow, 10 yellow ones should become green, 7 green ones purple, and 3 purple ones pink. Thats not even including offering and item distribution, because its also kinda weird to have 6 green items and 5 purple items, but only 2 grey ones.

Thats not even talking about offering distribution on both sides. Spoiler alert, 40% of all your offerings are green, when in reality about 25% of your offerings should be green.

Prestiging isnt worth doing, because rarity distribution is a mess. If they spend some time cleaning up rarities, prestiging will be worth doing.

Not at all. I am just doing it to flex p3 Sadako day 1. It is a complete and utter waste...

    I think it is individual.

For me it is not worth it. I prestiged only two characters to p3 and even that was pointless.

Absolutely not, imo. Not with the current state of the grind. The cosmetics are not great, and I don't feel like you really gain any actual prestige from prestiging, since all it realty takes is playtime, and not feats of skill or anything.

So the question is, how much do you value your time? Is having the base cosmetics with a bit of blood thrown on more valuable to you than the all of the perks and items gained through 150 levels of the bloodweb?

Once I really realized just how significant the grind was, the answer became an easy no for me. I don't buy paid (actual money) cosmetics outside of what I earn from the premium rift, and I have so many I never wear the few P3 sets I did get.

I would gladly trade them back for the millions and millions of BP I spent prestiging.

Again, just my own feeling here.

Unless you have a similar mindset to mine, it's really not worth it, no.

However, to explain my mindset, it's basically that I feel like I'm missing out on the maximum potential of a character's progression if I keep levelling them without prestiging, regardless of how minute that "maximum" actually is. From that follows that I ultimately end up with hardly any (usable) add-ons for said character, at which point I may as well prestige 'em. I'll get the perks again eventually.

    In short, I'm weird.

IMO yes because if you max a character out and then decide you want P3 you just wasted like 15 mil blood points. Might as well get P3 out if the way.

I P3 1 Survivor because i play with her (Cheryl) the most, the second one will be Ace because i really love a outfit i got for him. As soon as a Survivor is at P3 you don't have to worry about it anymore. At some day there will be the moment where you got some bloodpoints left and you can only spend them on a character P1 with all Perks at Tier 3. You'll just regret the grind doing all the work for making the Perks Tier 3 after you realise you have to do it again.

So choose wisely at first but sooner or later you'll P3 them all.

Unless you really want the p3 cosmetic/are a completionist there's no point in wasting time/BP prestiging your characters.

  • Some people have done the math, and you maybe might possibly get better item drops, but only at the rate of like three extra green items every 100 bloodwebs.

I do P3 my killer mains, and I'd like to have all killers P3d at some point for completion's sake. So far, I've done Michael, Ghostface, and Pig, with Clown and Spirit at P1.

I do not feel I get as many event items on my P3 character. Happy I only did it once.

you get 1% bump in odds of better junk for each level of prestige on that character

    1%

I took Claudette to P3 and i regret it. I never use it anyway. Waste of BP I could have used on other places.

In my eyes, a character wouldn't be complete if they had every perk maxed but still had a thing on the bloodweb to say "you could still progress."

    I don't get attached to anything on a character until they're P3.

Also with all the rumours of reworking prestige, I'd hate to have invested bloodpoints into a character beyond 50 only to find that's now wasted if I want whatever comes with the new P3.

    deKlaw_04 Member Posts: 3,660

Yeah same it just feels incomplete until p3 level 50. How many characters do you have at p3?

  • Alice_pbg
    Alice_pbg Member Posts: 6,556

I feel like every bp I use in a character past lvl 50 is a waste if they aren't p3.

    therefore I p3.

probably would have every character with all tier 3 perks by now if I didn't p3.

I don't even use the cosmetics, don't like them.

solution, do what you feel better with. there isn't a correct answer

The bloody cosmetics are hit or miss. It’s really good on Cheryl with the Christmas sweater, scoops ahoy Steve with bloody face and Jill’s is really good too. For others it’s not that good honestly

I think that point is lost on those that think prestige should be more than cosmetic.

Is not worth to spent tons of BP to get a cosmetic and 3% bloodweb improve, and takes an insane amount of time to get all P3 with all perks.

I don't know but It can take you 2000-2500 hours, even more.

It's gonna be ######### for some people if prestige becomes worth it and thousands of levels on characters are now questionable, however I wouldn't see that as a good reason to not improve the mechanic so it's not in the meh state it's been in for years.

Something like prestige is a lot of work, it shouldn't have no value that isn't made redundant by cosmetics.

Yes only if you play a lot. Specially the characters you main or also the license characters with few skins.
