Can we have an ETA for adequate anti-cheat measures?
I'm kind of fed up. I get at least a couple a day. Today I got 3.
First game, that survivor who dead-harded, then kind of ran-teleported one meter during chases and that I could never catch up.
Second game, that survivor who was running as fast as me in a straight line for a good ten seconds.
Third game, my two totems get destroyed simultaneously, along with two generators 40 seconds from the start, while I was chasing one survivor. The three following gens popped in a few seconds each. End game : one player with 30k+ BPs, one below 10k, two at 6K (the ones I've started to chase during the match).
Since I wasn't recording a video this time, I know reporting was pointless. I couldn't know for sure who was cheating anyway as I've never seen him.
Is it so hard to measure, server side, the time spent by each survivor on each gen? To check when a survivor moves faster than he is meant to (or a killer for that matter). To check when a player uses a perk he didn't have starting the match?

You'd think if they could put all that effort into making sure the server recognizes the E to outplay, they could do other checks too. Cheating is fun for survivors tho so they dont care

This. Just had a match where this Zarina kept sprint bursting away. And when I caught her while she should be exhausted - I STILL couldnt catch up to her! End game screen she doesnt even have a single exhaustion perk equipped. These players arent even trying to be "subtle" anymore...

The louder they are about anti cheat measures the less effective they become
2 -
The ETA on actual, effective anticheat measures is when the servers finally shut down for good. Can't cheat if there's no game.
At the rate BHVR continues to drive the game into the ground, I give it six months.

I mean, we're already at 0 so it shouldn't get much worse.

Also known as Never™. 🤣
Given how many people are properly disgruntled by this, they'll have to care soon.
Its not like they are likely to be reported and banned, given the hassle it is. And if they aren't on Steam, how even fill the ID in the report?
They could encourage it ... ? (lucky us)

I'd like something that also includes easy reports for cross play. Hacker on steam, better spend a hot minute trying to track them down, if at all
1 -
And if they aren't on Steam, how even fill the ID in the report?
I asked their support about it and they told me to just type cheater's username there. You can even report multiple players in the same report.
@Veinslay cheating isn't fun for survivors. And if anything it's killers who force them to ignore cheating problem. The best solution to most cheats is server side validation. Unfortunately every time they try to implement it, vast majority of killer mains protest and cry on forums.

Today I was still pissed about yesterday so I've just spent 30 minutes reporting a cheater. (Typing the initial text, editing the video, uploading the video, submitting the additional report ...)
They need something like in Rainbow Six Siege. (Automatically keeping the full replay of the last few games on disk)

What if their names are just a list of squares or symbols, how can you report that?

I don't know. In my case it was only ASCII characters.

Fair enough.

I just had one today, and I just got so frustrated trying to find them. Not so subtle, subtle hacking -_-

If I had to guess it would be one year in valve time™️

"Easy anti-cheat"
Easiest anticheat to bypass! Hence the name,"Easy" Anti-cheat!

Yeah I don't get why they cannot detect stuff like this as it happens. Such as when I play Rust and if someone breaks the rules of the game physics such as flying they get instantly kicked for fly hacks as the anti cheat seems to know 'hey you cant do that!' and instantly kicks the player.
However with DBD it seems DH with no DH, insta repeated unbreakables, speed hacks and flying don't trigger any response from the anti cheat. How tf is this the case?!

Me too,i'm fed up with cheating and toxicity,if I dont go againts a cheater,I go againts someone that's toxic, this game desperatly needs a game health chapter, sure you get a small playerbase boost every 3 months but it all goes down within a month.

Because they dont get banned, and even if they do,they have a good supply of epic game store accounts to burn, this game has become an even bigger mess because of cheating.
It takes a few weeks from what I heard for a cheater to be banned after reporting them by making a ticket with proof

BHVR should be embarrassed for relying on players to report cheats in order to ban accounts. They don't monitor their own game enough to moderate. Cheaters have been on Twitch, streaming cheats, for hours without consequence. It should NEVER be 100% on the player base to report hacking for action from devs.
Server side checks will limit the insane cheats, setup game replay so the devs can review reports instead of requiring us all to record our games, and BHVR needs to file suit against the companies who are selling the software. That seems to be the most effective way other devs are getting results to reduce hacking.

Yeah I went against a teleporting trickster once with permanent instadowns, turns out the guy was streaming and advertising his scripts there. BHVR and EAC should both be extremely embarrassed.
Not even that this happens in the first place, but that they can't detect it themselves or respond quickly when it does.
The guy's probably still going, I don't care enough to keep up to date with his activities

i feed on this stuff

Bhvr learned long ago to never give a specified date. If for some reason they can't meet the deadline the forums blow up with "you promised a fix today. Where is it!!!!!!".

Engine limitations, dbd days are numbered because of the engine limitations that makes basically impossible to implement certain things
0 -
no
1 -
It's the Unreal Engine 4, there are no such limitations. The server has knowledge of the position of every actor in the level and their respective status.
Verifying for illegal states isn't rocket science.

Then why dont they fix it?

Good question.

A lot of us been asking the same thing

The devs said a lot of things are not possible because of the engine limitations, idk if that's true or the game code is too much effort to fix.
