Any news about the matchmaking system rollout?

When will the new matchmaking system be implemented for all people? I'm very curious to try it and experience a fewer waiting time. :)

For all we know it has already. They said it'll be a change on their end.

If you're talking about the one where they put survivors in one bucket so they all showed up at the same time at the lobby, then no. They said in a devstream that it wasn't the way they were going to go. This was likely because people would lobby dodge thinking everyone is SWF because they don't read the forums. That's everyone's best guess as to why at this moment.

Could not such a change be reported in large letters in the patch notes, for the benefit of all those players who do not consult the forum? I know that the change of the matchmaking system does not require a patch, because it operates on the servers, but it can be made to coincide with the release of a patch, to have the means to inform everyone in a clear way. :)

Fact of the matter is that it didn't happen. It wasn't in the PTB, it wasn't hyped up to be a big change, and no one really wanted it. There wasn't a need to announce something that never happened when no one expected it or cared for it. And like I said before, they said in a devstream that it wasn't coming through. That was their official announcement.

@WaffleFalafel Could you kindly link me that particular devstream? I hope they will reply to the announcing thread ( https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/31987/new-matchmaking-system-information ) to explain their choice: not all people follow the devstreams.

@Entità So if you check Devstream #114 Let's talk numbers, it talks about the mtachmaking right there. While it may be implemented on some level now, if you read the announcement and look at the devstream, they say that it will be coming over time and in small increments.

It is also not something we require an update for, hence why we don't get news of it. I assume that the solo survivors are brought in to the lobby around the same time as everyone else, however its vague on how it deals with reduced numbers of people. People were also expecting it to look like everyone was loading in at once, like with SWF, so it could already be live. Just search the "New Matchmaking" forums up for reference.

@not_Queen @Patricia Give us the new matchmaking system: we'll try it better than every internal test and we'll give you a lot of feedback to further improve it. :)

It's a waste of time anyway as even if they do that the next dodge will simply be based on items. If people were to even stick around and endure 24/7 SWF you can be assured they would dodge until the item loadouts were nil. Couple that with a killer meta shift to reduce chest spawns.

There is no solution plausible to force people to play against unfair circumstances unwillingly. It will be the same if they try it with dedicated servers. Making everything blind will simply result in killers having the average kills dwindle to 1 or lower and there no longer being a workable killer population.

The survivor community can threaten negative reviews, scream and shout, stomp their feet, DC, rage on the forum, whatever they care too. There is no way the devs can force people to play a game on a side setup to lose for the "good times" of a group. Survivor taunts at the end of the game hammered most of the nails in that coffin long ago as there is a bitterness ingrained into the two communities that will never be repaired.
