They actually pulled the game from steam for Russia
Even though they swore they wouldn't do this. BHVR is such a BHVR.

Where did they say they wouldn't?

Good for them.

Poor Russians first the IdV Death Note collab and now DbD.
I didn´t see where they´re swearing not to pull it but always remember that corporations/sellers aren´t your friends they´ll pull out to protect their image.

Where did they say they wouldn't? Because so far they've made 2 statements:
Both of these are from the official twitter account and are also available in French.

Breaking trust of the customers does not look like "protecting their image".

What does the game and it's availability have to do with the war? What do regular Russian citizens have to do with it? Care to explain eventually?

I understand that you gotta do whatever little thing you can to help, but i'm not sure how many russian soldiers are playing DBD.

Oh nowhere did I say that I agreed with the decision, just that I don't see where they said they wouldn't be removing the game for sale. The entire point of the post is accusing BHVR of going back on their word, but I can't see any words to go back on.
If you have proof of them saying they won't remove it for sale, feel free to post it and I will happily stand corrected.

I'm glad BHVR is taking a stance on the current situation, but I'm not sure pulling the game from the Russian market, which is probably made out of regular citizens, is a good idea. It just alienates the Russian population

Russian civilians play DBD. And go to certain stores which also closed in Russia. The more people are unhappy with the war, the better. Especially because Russia does not even call it a war...

No, the point is this ridiculous political play from BHVR. But they also said something about not planning to cancel Russians in their Russian media, although now that statement says about just "not planning to cut off those who already purchased the game", at least for now.

People are not going to be unhappy about the war, people are only getting unhappy about the West, even more rapidly now than they did under the state propaganda in the USSR. Russians don't care about the war anymore since they are busy figuring out how to keep their savings and thinking about which western company is going to pull the plug next.

"Oh look, two countries are fighting because of a complex geopolitical context that very few people really understand. No DBD for ya, average citizen"

Really, BHVR?
Really?
5 -
Yeah, maybe the Russian Dictator should not have started a war on another country then...
Sanctions are the only way for the west to react to it, if they dont want to start a Nuclear War.

don't really get why they can't just donate to humanitarian aid, i feel like that would be much more helpful than just blocking people from buying the game

I'm from Russia and it's a great moral statement which I totally understand and support, good for BHVR.
They indicate to regular Russian people (gamers that play DBD are most likely not soldiers) that the war in the 21 century is totally horrific, especially considering it lacks any rational motive at all, and that every action has its consequences. I hope that all Russian people will finally realize what is happening right now in Ukraine, stop watching this absurd propaganda on government TV channels and finally do something to stop the war and most importantly, Putin, who made this war a reality. Not being able to play a game or to get some cosmetic items doesn't equal being bombed on your own territory, not even close.

They've done that, if it's any consolation.
Again, not defending this decision.

Sanctions that only hurt the regular citizens who don't get to decide anything? Yes, this is definitely going to stop the war.
3 -
Are you Russian, by any chance?
3 -
ah, wasn't aware. my bad

At least, I'm almost certain they have.
