Yeah, finally is dying. Just look at steamcharts. Thanks, thanks thanks.
Killer nerfs and survivor buffs, selling skins etc, thats what devs only care about.

"Look at steam charts"
Is quickly reaching meme status.

Funny, this is about as accurate as the first 400 times you people have said this.
25 -
Yes it's totally dying you right man.
22 -
But they just buffed Sadako. That sounds contrary to your points.
5 -
According to the prophecy, when the 1 millionth person says DbD is dying, DbD will actually die.
13 -
I'm pretty sure God isn't why Dead By Daylight is dying right now, but whatever I guess.
3 -
🤡🤡🤡
11 -
Dammit, they buffed a #########-tier killer, nice, finally we can do 4/4 agaisnt good survs, thanks!
2 -
They said the same thing about World of Warcraft several years ago and it is still out there and still going. It's not at it's peak however it's still going.
Same thing with Dead By Daylight. It may not be at it's peak however the numbers show it isn't dying.

If you don’t like this game you could also just not play it. Seems weird but try it. That way, even if it is not dying just now, you dont have to have anything to do with it.

With things like sales and free weekends, please remember these are planned many, many months in advance.
17 -
lmfao you don't even know that that means do you. That's talking about gain% meaning new players that can fraction in loss but that's not how you 100% determine loss you also have to think the game is on Epic,Windows,PlayStation and Xbox and more you can't just take the steam charts and say yep the game is dead because you're missing data while you can use it to point to an issue with dbd not gaining new players.
Know how to read metrics next time the line I showed you show's we just hit 50k on steam which is normal growth that metric is accurate the % gain graph isn't because it takes a while to calculate loss/gain% meaning that updates a lot slower vs the line graph. Now take your clown emoji's and learn some metrics bud.
The game is also sitting right now at 46k which again is normal for steam dbd.
3 -
To be fair, there is a free weekend right now. Which could skew the stats slightly...
Just saying.
5 -
You're right is could but that still show's we hit 50k which is normal steam dbd growth for someone to come on here and claim games dead but the line metric shows the exact opposite it kinda negates their whole point ngl.
0 -
You specifically have that chart selected to only show the last 7 days. Try to adjust it to show the last entire 365 days overall.
Or even, the last 6 months.
5 -
Because that's the most accurate graph since the %graph takes longer to update the loss/gain% so yes the Line is more accurate as well as the people playing right now which is 46k. Looking overall is of course going to show loss we had over 100k playing because of Nemesis. Know the normal player count and what is normal for steam and you don't have to look at the loss and say the game's dying because you'd know 40K+ is normal for steam dbd.
2 -
That's...still 50 THOUSAND people
5 -
Exactly people don't know how to read the line graph it's obvious they watched their favorite streamer misunderstand the graph for so long they believe it now.
3 -
If the game was really dying, we wouldn't need a thread on the forums to tell is. We would just know.
4 -
Like yeah sure some games like Overwatch, or tf2 or cod might have more, but that's 50 thousand people to get income from
3 -
Yep people just go into panic mode without doing a single bit of research and metric reading lmao.
1 -
I'll never understand mentalities like these.
2 -
Y'all know you can just not play this game if it's so awful, right?
I just want to make sure you're aware of that.
5 -
Atp I feel like dbd content creators say this ######### for clicks not even caring about the accuracy.
"Okay as you can see here these numbers are red and red is bad so we have to ask Is dBd DyINg?! Plz like comment and subscribe for the answer"
3 -
Why is it weird to do a sale when a new chapter comes out?
0 -
I don't get why people even come here if they hate the game that much. I understand that the game isn't perfect and posting constructive criticism is absolutely fine. But coming to the forum and saying how happy you are that DBD is dying (it's not) is just weird to me. Maybe go outside or something, lol.
None of this is aimed at you, tippy. Just making sure that's clear.
7 -
Actually they did a big sale in March last year too for instance
3 -
I don't agree with this post at all, but them buffing a c-tier killer up to...c-tier isn't much of a gotcha
4 -
People who start such discussions are still secretly in love with DBD. They just don't want to believe that after the good time they had together, DBD never called them back and just disappeared. Because of this, they only feel hate and a deep desire for revenge because DBD is now making other people happy. Just let go!
I can't explain it any other way.
4 -
Please nerf survivor to fix game.
1 -
DBD player realize that literally every single online game in the entire world has cyclic player counts due to things like summer break/work or school starting back up/holidays/increased players when new content drop and then settling again/etc challenge (very hard)
3 -
Honestly, this.
I don't think DbD is dying, but I do think that it's beginning to stagnate - and the release of such an iconic killer in such a...well, at best incredibly mediocre state isn't going to help matters.
2 -
If you want this game to die, then why are you participating in the forum anyway?
0 -
Alright - is the game dying? Probably not
Is the game in great shape right now? Hell no
Objectively - DBD's peak playerbase was around Nemmy launch. Average player count has steadily dropped by 45% since then. That is a MASSIVE drop. Almost half the playerbase left the game and it doesn't appear to be slowing down
1 -
According to the community the game has been dying for the last 5 years.
6 -
5 years and still going is a really slow death.
3 -
Thats kind of toxic, isnt it? If you dont like the game or how it is developed, just play something else. Why does it have to die so others cant play it? Is there any good reason?

I’ve also pointed out recently the downward trend in players on Steamcharts. People like to argue that it’s only one platform, but do you really think the trend is much different than other platforms and if so, what makes you believe that? It’s likely that the trend is similar across platforms. I guess maybe you could argue that PC has other good new games out that other platforms don’t and that’s the reason for the recent drop.
Anyway, I don’t point out the negative trend because I want the game to die. I really do enjoy the game and want it to thrive, but I feel like recent changes in the past few years have heavily favored the SWF audience and have made playing killer a lot less fun. Some of the changes have also heavily encouraged unfun play styles such as tunneling, slugging and camping. I really believe that the devs being too slow to implement improvements and at times flat out ignoring community feedback is the main cause of the recent decline and that they make some changes to improve the game for both sides and hopefully reverse the declining player trend. Not trying to be toxic or overly negative
2 -
100% agree
It's only in the top percentile in terms of active player bases on steam.
RIP
1 -
It's the 20th most active game but hey man it's dying. lmfao

Even if it were to be dying…
That’s not a good thing. Like, at all.

A clown is exactly what you are, in a month when it shows the stats for march it will be higher because a chapter just dropped, also there are more platforms than just steam, you're forgetting windows store, epic games, switch, Xbox, PS and Stadia aren't included in those charts and if theres near 50,000 on steam right now you know there are more on the consoles and probably about the same on windows and epic games, even if there were only 45,000 on each platform right now that's still 270,000 players active at this moment it's hardly dying.
0 -
Ah, so the game was dying last year too? All makes sense now.
🤣😂😋
3 -
Really traumatic to see Wallpaper Engine on life support T_T
1 -
You can blame that on MMR and nerfing everything fun in the game. And you mean survivor nerfs?
Parental Guidance too strong, must nerf. I've tried the perk and killers have eyes and ears.
Circle of Healing is so weak now that it is hardly better than self-care.
Killrush killer vs. SWF genrush is not really fun so that is probably causing players to leave or not play as much (like myself).
4 -
Awesome! Show me the Epic Game Store, PSN, Xbox, and Switch numbers too

Game will not die immediately just because it hurts your feelings.
Nothing will. Just a reality check for petty people like you.

The biggest issue of DBD is and always was bad ranking and matchmaking. The balancing stats they use are based on imbalanced match making which basically nullifies the information gotten from the matches (or at least doesn't give a reliable info on how strong a killer of perk actually is)
Just as an example of how to misread stats (not claiming that what I state here is correct, just to give an idea about how bad reads on stats can be):
The spirit addons got changed and with it the blossom addons that gave you a longer and faster after-phase speed boost. You could do insane range lunges allowing extreme hits, almost Blight-like. One addon was completely changed and I think the second one got nerfed values. But imho the addons were totally fine. It promoted risky gameplay, meaning: if you get out of phase to go for an omega lunge, you could also just pass the survivor and speed boost into the wrong direction or past the survivor, with no power left and way too much distance. Like high risk, high rewards. I think this addon was super fun to play, giving me some fun scenes while also maybe causing bad games because I whiffed too much, because you basically have no reaction time with such a boost, you have to guess correctly to make good use of this addon. That's why I think it was balanced, giving insane hits, causing unforced errors as well.
-> So now knowing about this, as an average player I basically picked other addons way more often as they are more reliable. But pro spirits, less relying on "guessing" correctly but actually knowing about survivor positioning and pathing while being blind might have way better use of this addon combo, as they could play Spirit on a power level like a mastered Blight. Now that means, the bad games with this addon are less, as untrained Spirit users dont pick it that often, while 4k games with this addon combo was more common among all post-phasing addon games as strong Spirit players used them more frequently.
-> result: the stats show that games with these addons are leading to 4k games way too often. But actually this is not because the addon is OP, but because strong Spirit players pick the addons and "influencing" the stats, because they add 4k's into the stats which they most likely would have gotten even without any addons. Players mastering a certain killer might "influence" the meme addons as well if they wanted to. Just make all the pro Bubbas go for the addon that makes the chainsaw non-lethal for extra BP, play that for 1 month. And they might still get regular 3-4k games. And the stats look like the meme addon is actually OP, because no average or lower Bubba player would even think about running this addon and therefore don't contribute their 0-1k games into the statistics.
