Whitelisted means it wont be blocked by their anticheat software and reshade is typically used to add custom graphic effects to a game

Basically it let's you customise your game graphics to an almost extreme extent.
That's what my game looks like on normal monitors. I've got the brightness up really high because my actual physical monitor is broken so I help correct it and then add a little extra, and it's pink because the colourblind settings in Freestyle are better for me than the ones in DBD (it also helps that I already had these set up). Some other filters help smooth it out and sharpen the image because my awful eyes like to make everything as blurry as possible the second something moves.
I use NVIDIA Freestyle, but it's the same in principle.

not everyone like the blurry mess the game vanilla is, looks awful and bad extremely dark mess, the fact u can not even adjust the brightness at least as most games today is a problem, so people need to do it themselves in fact ton/most just use nvidia filters wich are undetectable cause u dont install anything... but if u dont have an nvidia gpu then u have to use other stuff.

there are some that acually give an outrageous advantage cause they actually change the way you see the killers red light to make it easier to see, back in the day trough walls even but in my case i just want the game not to be a blurry mess and more bright cause is so damn dark and i already use 20% bright on my monitor cause higher than that strain my eyes cause too much light coming from it but with filters is the same 20% but more colourfull.
