Will Devs Nerf/Rework Dead Hard?
I am really wondering. They are nerfing killer add-ons because most people are using them? Old Ruin and Undying nerfed for same reason. But why BHVR is ignoring Dead Hard for years.
It is most popular survivor perk and there is reason behind this. Because it is stronger than all of other exhaustion perks.

They are looking at Dead Hard if I'm not mistaking. They didn't say something specific tho.

The devs mentioned in the last Q&A that they’re looking into DH, and they don’t like it being used for distance.

They won't ever nerf it because the devs mainly play survivor.
It's two perks in one but even if all the killers left the game and there was just one killer left they'd still never nerf it.
Just look at all the streamers they endorse on Twitter they are basically all survivor players.

Um they literally announced that Dead hard is getting changed. They said it in the Q&A

Before all the biased crybaby killer mains start making up conspiracies. They announced in the last Q&A that Dead hard is getting changed cause it’s being used to much. There Changing the distance part. Which is good cause that’s what we asked for

Tbh, if they would just kill exhaustion perks once gates are open, that would be fine. they could still 99, but the risk of endgame perks balances it out, and it puts pressure on survivors in endgame that isn't really there now because of 99ing so it should be a balanced overall buff without being too much.

Sounds like they’re probably gonna make so it can only be used to dodge a hit since that is what the perk is designed to do.

It is never going to be viable as such due to the spaghetti code. As a series X player, I use it for distance because I still get hit a second after pressing the button for it. I even see the beginning of the animation whilst taking a hit. Noted that this only occurs against PC players, not yet experienced from another console player.

I have been playing a good long time. If I remember correctly, they added the dash forward as a way to show that dead hard was used.
Used to be you would hit the survivor and the hit would not register. You were left wondering what just happened. Why did my hit not connect? They used Dead Hard.
They added the rush forward to show it was Used. Inadvertently they wound up buffing the perk as now its Used for distance as well as avoiding a hit.
Again, if i remember right. I'm pretty sure u am tho.

I completely understand why it’s bad I record the last 30 seconds everytime someone uses Dead hard for distance. Every recording is me being robbed of my hit

Problem is we don't know when. They said soon but this is bad answer anyway. It took one year to nerf keys and hatch. It took more years to balance Decisive.

If they do nerf it let's be honest here. They'll probably just add 5% to the cooldown then nerf twins add ons to compensate.

yeah, in the Q&A they eluded to an idea of the perk not working if not timed well to evade a hit. It really shouldn't grant immunity to bear traps and trails. I hope they are reworking it and I hope that with that they have done a pretty good job so far...

I saw survivors said they are gonna leave game after DS nerf and hatch changes but today, still survivor queues are longer. So this is not going to happen.

They'll look at Dead Hard like they've been looking at the BP grind since I started playing in Dec 2017. So, nothing will ever actually happen.

To be fair, on a stream about Freddys release, they said that he would get changed. Everyone who played him assumed, that he´d get buffed. Since he was released in a very weak state. But instead they nerfed him even more.
Soooo the announcement that they want to change Dead Hard, can literally mean anything.

i'm not lying, it's on 3 or 4 survivors in EVERY match when i play with my 2 mains (survs are usually above 1k hours there)

I hope it's in the next mid patch. I'm fed up of that perk carrying the matches for the survivors.

Yeah, they basically nerfed him 1 week after his release, because rank 20 survivors disconnected to often against him.

oh no I know the whole story. Freddy was weak at release but was mid tier but was nerfed cause his kill count was high as ######### at Rank 20 so he was nerfed to becoming the worst killer in the game.
He is the reason why Devs are scared with changes cause they don’t want to do knee jerk reactions and do stuff just cause everyone’s screaming to. When stuff comes out atleast

I am sure most people are playing both roles. So Dead Hard and CoH are broken perks. So for you, we should not complain about them?
Except Old Legion, Old MoM; killers and perks should not nerf so hard because someone did not like it. They should wait for data. BHVR is doing this now. If they are not broken ofcourse.
I remember people cried so much Artist is op, unbreakable boon is op, Counterforce will make game unplayable etc. I am seeing this all so rare. Waiting for data is smarter decision.

If we are going to nerf something because it is used too much, look no further than BBQ. The most used perk of all time.
Instead of nerfing dead hard, they need to release more perks that are worth using. A watered down DBD is not all that exciting if you ask me.
Parental Guidance is not how you do that. There is nothing in any of these new perks that help whatsoever against the killer.

Parental Guidance and Smash Hit pretty strong combo. You should try.

It's not very good. Smash Hit is bad because you have to burn a pallet to use it, and if you miss the stun you get nothing. Parental Guidance does nothing to change that. It is fun though.
Anyway back to the OP, I honestly don't know how they could change Dead Hard properly. Just removing the distance part doesn't really solve the issue since you can still dodge a Huntress hatchet or a Nurse blink, etc. I know they said they're addressing Dead Hard at some point, but more than likely they'll add some extra restriction rather than nerf the mechanic itself. Just my speculation, anyway.

While they've said they're working on it, it would be lovely if they would at least fix the issue where Dead Hard is actively blocking killer's powers from acting as they should IE the classic Nemmy Pallet issue.
- Nemmy fires tentacle at survivor on the other side of a dropped pallet.
- Survivor hits "E" and dead hard's away. Nemmy's attack does not hit survivor (Working as intended)
- Nemmy's tentacle does not break the pallet. (Not working as intended)
- Survivor teabags their way to the exit gate.
The same applies to Victor's leap & a score of other powers. Fix that first.
Given that it took them three years to fix Nurse, I hold out little hope that DH will get fixed before 2025, sadly.

That's just a byproduct of the game. They only endorse people with good things to say and a positive attitude. Kinda leaves anyone that plays killer and refuses to ignore the issues out.
They probably will nerf it since their own stats are showing how overused it is plus all the complaints, even from FW streamers about how game changing it is.
