The grind is too harmful specially for new players
Yes, I know, everyone already complains about the grindy 1v4 online game, but please let me do it this time.
I made the counting over these recent days just as an experiment, it literally took more than 7 million points to maximize a survivor AFTER being Prestige 3-LV50 and this is an absurd amount. You can add more 3/4 million to the count in order to get to just P3-50, even getting only the cheapest stuff. Every perk needs to be acquired 3 times makes so you have to go through a lot of useless stuff to get them in the bloodweb.
Now take into consideration that it can take from 3 to 5 hours to get 1 million bloodpoints if you are not a Killer player using BBQ every match (if you are I think you can make it in 2 hours). They really need to adress this.
If you're a new player somehow reading this, do not prestige your characters, it's not worth it specially if you are not attached to them.
I remember seeing people saying that the devs do not intend to reduce the grind and my question is: why? If I was a new player nowadays I would be even more frustrated and would probably quit the game by now.

I don't know why the devs are so goofy about the grind. People play in spite of it, not because of it. It's not like someone gets a character maxed and then stops playing the game. They just...wait for it...use the perks they want.
In some ways it even makes their own job harder. How do you get a clear look at character performance when it takes weeks or months for a majority of players to unlock the meta for them? They create a backlog of their own doing because the first two or three weeks of a new killer release are spent with players running random BS they don't want to run. Then they finally get a clear picture when players have finally unlocked everything.
The grind is super weird and out of place in this game. I don't understand its purpose and the devs don't even talk about the reasoning behind it. It's like anything else with this game: there's a feeling of huge disconnect between the devs and players and a near complete lack of dialogue to at least get a sense of why something is the way it is.
The only thing I've ever heard regarding the BP cap is that they want players to keep playing and not hoard BP and stop playing until chapter releases. But...that's such a wildly incoherent viewpoint because 1 million is a small fraction of the total needed to max a character. If that's their actual reason than all hope is lost because they don't live in our reality. You could raise that to 4 million and it still wouldn't even get people halfway there. It's lunacy.

Well as one of the few players who has max grinded 2 accounts I feel I have something to say on this. No disrespect thou if you do or don't agree just my thoughts on it.
Idk about you but I haven't p3 anyone I see no reason to. go for it if that's what you want.
1 We're Gonna Live Forever is a thing I normally use it when the killer goes for a pick up to get those protection hit with relative safety.
2 I play killer and I used bbq&chili won't lie. But not playing both sides not only deprives you from experience and knowledge that helps you on both sides it is also a self inflicted less BP overall.
I came from a game were this grind is a joke like 1000% . It isn't so bad honestly and while I'd love to say they keep it to keep me entertained. The truth is it's all this game has that let's you feel like you have some progression.

I couldn't say more than that, thanks!
I know there is no actual point besides getting the bloody skins, but there are a lot of people that likes those skins and oh man, they're gonna suffer doing it, my point is just it's not healthy for the time it takes, I made for an experiment only, I only do it when I really love the skins and the character. At least they should remove level perks or increase the 1 mil cap.

I’m 100% confident that the grind is the major thing driving away new players. It’s just common sense. Nobody wants to spend a bunch of money only to sit there and grind for potentially hundreds of hours, whilst learning such a punishing game, whilst using weak, boring builds.
It’s weird because BHVRs business model is to rely on new chapters to being in new players, yet they’re met with this nonsense and understandably leave shortly thereafter.

Also probably a lot of income comes from selling skins. But why would I buy a skin for a character that I never play because I don't have the perks I want on it.
3 -
Well people are buying this skins, no matter what. I saw so much Sadakos with her store skin. She is new killer and people will level her. But so many people already bought her skin too.

The best part is they refuse to remove perk tiers because "it isn't a long term solution" and then offer nothing else... nothing... nada. Just silence.

For sure there are players who buy even then. But my example: I play only 2 survivors (Meg and Kate). Meg has all possible perks, Kate almost all. Why would I buy some skin for a different survivor? I don't want to spend time leveling up other survivors to get the builds I want.

You are right. We know they addressed grind issues but we don't know when. "Soon." I hate this word so much because of BHVR.

They want people to stay addicted to the game. That's the reason there is such an intense grind. It isn't rocket science.

The grind is harmful in general. We have SO many characters now, and as someone who works/goes to school, it's even more difficult.
And with the game in it's current very unhealthy & boring state, who actually wants to play the game every waking moment ....?

I agree it is for “player engagement” aka artificially inflate the grind to make the numbers look better to shareholders etc, but it’s pretty illogical as it stops new players from getting into the game.

It doesn't help that even though killers get a lot more bp it's still an awful amount of grinding. You're also going to have to buy many killers if you want a specific perk/build vs survivors where the best perks are generally available for free and pray you get it in your bloodweb sooner instead of 5mil bp later at lvl 50

I honestly dread trying out new characters since i know i will have to take forever earning BP and hoping I get the perks I like or want to try, Makes me not want too experiment with new killers and try new survivors. I don't know why they refuse to help with grind. They said they wont remove perk tiers for example, on that last Trainwreck QnA stream. Why do they refuse to get rid of the grind, This is not a JRPG where being high level makes you god. People just want their perks.
