Crow Proximity to Generators Needs to Change
In some maps Crows are set so close to the Generators you cant go near any side of the generator without setting off the Crow alarm.
So when the Spies from the Shadows buff goes live, bringing it to 100% visual notification for all tiers what happens to these Crows sitting above generators that you simply cannot avoid without setting them off? are they staying? are they going? Do we just simply not do that generator because it has a 100% visual notification proximity alarm on it?
Buff sourced here:

KILLERS
PERK CHANGES
Spies from the Shadows: Increased the chances of a visual notification to 100% for all tiers. Added crow in Loud Noise notification. Increased the notification range from 16/24/36 meters to 32/40/48 meters.

Did you know that crows fly away over and over while you work on a gen if it's close enough?Tsulan said:Did you know that CTRL has other uses than teabagging?13 -
For most maps this isn’t a problem at all, because the crows are often in pretty obscure spots.
There are some exceptions like Lerry’s where there’s often a crow next to a Gen or two.
But even so, just because a perk is stronger on one map than others, doesn’t mean it needs adjustments.

Spies has been a useless perk for ages. Now it might become useful. Let's pretend it's OP and that it will make it impossible to repair gens next to crows. Duh

Most maps don't really have this problem, but others do. The Institute is especially bad with the crows overlapping the gens, and I think I've had it happen on Haddon and Prenn (original).8 -

Yet it still needs to actually work on clowns Gas ie no notification type thing and also for Doctor you still jump up and scream silently as well as notification.

Did you know that CTRL has other uses than teabagging?Nice knee jerk there. Here I'm not sure I made it clear enough so here goes.
There are 4 sides to the Generator, 2 sides are blocked by walls leaving 2 sides to repair on. Once you've crouched your way to either of those 2 remaining sides and are at the generator just the act of repairing it will set the Crow off.
Simply put, it is not possible to repair the generator without continually setting off the Crow alarm multiple times no matter which side you repair at.

Just use calm spirit, it completely removes crow from the game basically.

Actually for The Doctor, Calm Spirit works perfectly fine. The Survivor in the terror radius doesn’t scream or jump, their madness just silently increases 1 tier. If they are shocked however, they’re location won’t be revealed, but they will have a cooldown on doing actions for 3 seconds I believe.
That's not always correct for everything since if your madness level increases you still jump up and silently scream. You also give the Doctor a notification points wise and if they're looking in your direction they either see you or they see the notification for the scream.
I've been hidden while a Doctor chases someone near me while running Calm Spirit after it got buffed and I'd jump up and silently scream in full view even if holding crouch.

If a perk makes it impossible to do a generator without being seen by the killer if he's close by, then something needs to be fixed.
The game is heading in a direction where it's soon going to be impossible to be hidden from the killer. This is not good and this is one such potential game-balance-breaking issue. Game should not be balanced around 4-man pro SWF teams, it will decimate this game's playerbase, mark my words.

Use Calm Spirit."Just use calm spirit."
Here's the thing about killer perks/addons and survivors perks/addons. Killers have an advantage when their overall range of abilities is extended. Why? Because Killers have the potential to end a survivor's night on one mistake.
Look at these 4 scenarios:
Killer has Spies. Survivor has Calm. = no advantage
Killer has no Spies. Survivor has no Spies = no advantage.
Killer has Spies. Surivivor has no Calm = Survivor gets hooked.
Killer has no Spies. Survivor has Calm = Survivor wastes a perk slot.As you can see, the perk mindgaming setup is lopsided in Killer's favor. So no, "Just use Calm Spirit" is a dumbass answer to this problem.

Why all this fuss? I doesn't seem an unreasonable request, to move crows away from gens in maps such as Lery's. SftS is a tracking perk, it shouldn't have anything to do with survivors repairing gens.

Killer has Spies, Surivor has Calm = No advantage
Killer has no Spies, Surivor has no Calm = No advantage
Killer has Spies, Surivor has no Calm = Survivor gets hooked
Killer has no Spies, Surivor has Calm = Survivor wastes a perk slotNo. This is lopsided in killer's favor. This is the case with most killer detection perks against Survivor stealth play. Simply having the option for killers to find you in a certain way, means that you always have to play in a certain way or you get found.
Killer downs a survivor? You need to head to a locker ASAP or get closer, because he might have BBQ.
Teammate about to finish a gen? Head to locker ASAP, he might have Bitter Murmur.
Two of you doing a gen? Think again he might have Discordance.
You injured and need to heal with killer nearby? Think again, he might have Nurse's calling.
etc.
etc.
etc. There are so many things you need to worry about and play around, that I can understand why survivors say "screw stealth" and just focus on looping.
It's because it's just not worth it to stealth anymore.

I think it's perfectly reasonable to move them away from generators, or alternatively preventing the crows from being startled while working on a generator. I don't think Calm Spirit should be mandatory to avoid it, you should be able to crouch past them to avoid them at the cost of extra time, but having them constantly going off while you're on a generator isn't necessary.
It would be nice if they were distributed like hooks and pallets so you get more evenly spread out crows and less deadzones as well.7 -

Use Calm Spirit. That's not a valid answer, Crows aren't supposed to be so close to a generator that you cant repair it without repeatedly setting it off that's not their purpose. Their placed incorrectly and it needs to be fixed for balance purposes otherwise your saying you cant do that gen unless you have a specific perk to reduce Crow alarm radius which doesn't work anyway because they're still too close to these particular generators.

You can also just shoo the crows away. Unless the Killer is literally right beside you you'll have plenty of time to get away after the crow flies off. Just shoo them off the gen and then go do another one. Or hide in a locker.

Once again, you CANNOT work on these particular generators without continually setting one particular crow over, and over and over again rendering that generator impossible to complete without guaranteeing unlimited free Crow warning sightings for the Killer.
This isn't simply a matter of sneaking by to get to a point this is the inability to interact with a Generator without giving the Killer free access to knowledge of where you are.
It's not unreasonable to request a chance to interact with a Generator if you sneak past the Crow, for these particular Generators that's not an option and stealth is taken out of the equation giving a one sided unquestionable advantage to Killers with this perk.
You do want the game to be 'fair' and 'balanced' and 'fun' for everyone right? so people actually want to play and you actually get matches rather than sitting in an empty lobby simulator? Because that's what you'll get if this goes live without simply moving these specific Crows in too close proximity to Generators.

I got bored of reading the drivel.Did anyone suggest the actual fix to this, Devs move the crows away from the gens/make the crows not react to gens?0
-
The whole point of the crows is to alert the killer. They JUST buffed the perk that actually makes the crows useful, so better nerf the crows so the perk becomes useless again, quick!
1 -
I think they should just be moved a little bit away from the gen. Not too far to not set it off but enough to where you can get alerted and it's so it won't continuously spam the killer with noise notifications.
2 -
If ANYTHING crows needs more buffs, not weakening their spawn places. Also, no one taking their match seriously will ever be using Spies even after the change so this is hardly something to complain about. It would still need more buffs to have a chance.

I love using Calm spirit. Messes with DOCs so much, cause they can't use their power to find me :chuffed:
And it's good for being stealthy, which I love to do.

Imagine actually suggesting calm spirit. It's a useless perk outside of 2 what-if situations, this being one of them. Crows shouldn't spawn within proximity of a gen, kinda like the totem problem.
