Positive Thread Of Positivity: What Do You *Like* About DbD At Present?

As in - what keeps you playing?

For me:

  1. Finally we have multiple viable killer metas (honestly, 4 of them that are pretty damn good depending on killer).
  2. SBMM is getting tweaked to be a bit less bonkers.
  3. More frequent events.
  4. Some buffs to terrible survivor perks, one or two aren't bad now.
  5. Incipient change to reduce the grind.
  6. Grade rewards actually feel worth it, and definitely get me playing more.
  7. Artist was and is a great addition to the game, both in terms of her perks and her kit. I wish Onryo had been this well designed.
  8. The audio work gets better and better every patch.
  9. No more stretched res! Finally I can play Ghostface again.
  10. While I'm terribly let down by the Onryo release, I do think her iri skin is probably the best skin in the game at present for any killer.

Fast games. I don't have to wait to play.

That doesn't sound like a big deal but it is.

Nurse and Blight’s design, art/sound team, it being fun despite some of the minor balance issues here and there, this game not tilting me ever, getting to play with friends, etc

    1. All of the crossover characters come from great material
    2. When survivors know what they're doing the game is actually pretty fun

Unfortunately that's all I have. This game is nearly entirely carried by the crossover content IMO.

The great conversation you can have with the community. 😎

The game is great to play and it can only get better.

Despite its faults, it’s still by far the best game in its genre. I still have fun if I’m not matched against players far above my skill level. Unfortunately, matchmaking doesn’t work most of the time

Except Artist i agree all of them my man. But if i also add something:

    1. I finally have Nemesis, Leon and Jill in DbD. My next dream is Shaggy from Scooby Doo.
    2. Killer designs are being better. I am not talking for balance issues. Pinhead is so unique with his animations and voice line. Sadako has her own animations too. Design team doing 10/10 job.
    3. New maps and reworked maps look so good. Coldwind, RPD and Eyrie looks great. Again, i am not talking about balance.
    4. They are making different type killers. This is very good. Because everyone are not enjoying with same killers, so everyone gets their new fav killers.
    5. I loved their business with Amazon. Prime rewards are free and they are good. I loved all gifts.

Yeah, I was talking with a friend I hadn't played with in a while, and he was saying "remember when we'd wait 30 or 40 minutes for a game and then one of us would get face camped"?

And I was like, "you know, yeah that was crazy". But I have grown so accustomed to getting fast games recently, that I actually had kind of forgotten.

My killer games actually take longer to queue in than survivor, and by longer it's like 3 minutes instead of 1 or 2.

-The one and only Steve Harrington still blesses us with his presence

-Pinhead and Sadako are in the game at last, I remember when people thought Pinhead in Dbd was a crazy idea

-The meta has finally shifted for survivors, sorta.

-BHVR actually has decent practices with how they manage skins. In a many games, once a skin arrives it's there for about a week and then it's gone until it is brought back. But with Dbd, once a skin gets added it's there to stay (with some exceptions)

Not the game but has to do with the game: Teasing @TheGannMan is always fun.

    1. Nurse feels really good
    2. As much as I rag on it, SBMM does a good job when role populations are more even. Daytime weekdays and weekends are very good. The difference on solo survivor between night and day is literally...night and day.
    3. This circles back to point 2, but solo survivor is a blast when I get matched appropriately. If they can somehow get this to work at all times, I might never log off.

Just the diversity of licensed and original killers. It has the largest collection of horror icons in one place. It's probably the only reason I still play once a week. I get to play as some of my favorite characters and some original ones that I've grown to love over the years.

The variety, ah no, i only get blight and nurses at high MMR, let's see killer side what i like, mhh, the maps variety and perk combinations! Ah no, every game is a map offering and ds bt dh.

I don't like to be negative but is the reality of the game for me nowdays, i don't play killer anymore and as survivor I'm pretty much done after 2-3 games of getting the same killer, to not mention the fact that they use the strongest killers in the game with the strongest add-ons/perks.

The fact that you could have Jill Valentine and Cheryl Mason rescue Steve Harrington from the Myers House while Bill Overbeck keeps Leatherface busy. Or Laurie Strode running Freddy Krueger all around The Raccoon City Police Department. Or even Michael Myers stalking Chris Redfield and Ash Williams within Midwich Elementary School. There are countless dream scenarios that could happen at any given time that I will never get tired of. On top of that, periodically these scenarios increase in number as new licenses are added. Whether you love or hate them, it is amazing to have so many iconic and legendary characters in one game, with many more to come. (Presumably.)
