for awhile i wanted to use pwyf but the idea of leaving the obsession a lot is kinda weird that'll i have to get used to if i want to use it at its max.

what's the best way to play around the obsession with this perk? and what killers would be fun with it?

Use it on Wraith. Cloaking while in chase ends the chase giving you a PWYF stack in the process.

If you're creating dead zones it can be useful paired with the Nemesis perk ( get pallet stunned, break pallet, return to gen) but that's more of a fun combo than a very effective combo in my opinion. PWYF, Nemesis and Rancor can be entertaining for the early to mid game speed boost and the end game 'I just stunned the killer who has Rancor and now I'm the Obsession moments...'.

Otzdarva explained this in somecof his PWYF build videos. You start a chase with your obsession and then quickly turn around and look at your feet. This way you can gain a stack in supersonic speed and sometimes even start a chase anew. And then you can go hunt down the other survivors with a massive speed boost. Its not meta, but kinda fun.

1 shot killers. It's a waste on anyone else.

Wraith and Sadako are great at actually building up the stacks (since Cloaking/Demanifesting and looking away from the survivor instantly "ends" the chase and gives you a token). Though they cannot conserve their stacks unless you're using perks to inflict Exposed on survivors.

Any killer who can down a survivor in one hit gets decent mileage out of this perk. Including Trapper and Plague, since damage inflicted by bear traps/vile purge doesn't consume tokens (Plague's lethal corrupt purge does eat tokens thought).

I'd recommend combo'ing this with the Nemesis perk to change whoever stuns you into the Obsession. Then just break chase and get a free stack. You can also combo it with other perks that encourage you to avoid harming the Obsession like STBFL or Dying Light (though the latter also buffs the Obsession's healing speed).

The best way to use it is take it off and use a meta perk instead but I understand the appeal. It's a perk that's fun to use but ultimately isn't particularly useful.

A fun gimmick loadout is the "I'll Kill You Last" build:

    • Save the Best For Last - tokens when you hit anybody other than the Obsession to speed up hit recovery
    • Dying Light - tokens when you hook anybody other than the Obsession to slow gens
    • Play with your Food - Tokens when you let the Obsession escape a chase that speed you up
    • Dark Devotion - If you hit the Obsession with a basic attack you become Undetectable and your terror radius switches to them

So with this build the strategy is simple: if you chase someone other than the Obsession down them and hook them if possible. If you find the Obsession, hit them once with a basic attack if you can which will turn you Undetectable, then immediately break off and ambush a different survivor elsewhere. You'll be both Undetectable and have at least one token of Play with your Food too for the ambush and chase that follows.

The obvious downside is you're intentionally not downing the Obsession. But the upside is, if you're quick at hitting them and using the Undetectability to follow up on someone else, you can down the other survivors more efficiently than normal and, by hooking them multiple times, slow the gen progress pretty significantly once you've got enough hooks built up.

This build will never win awards but it's definitely neat to mess with. 🙂 (Honestly, though, Play With Your Food is probably the weak link in this, you can always sub it out for whatever else you want and it still is fun to play just using the other three.)
