Spawning right next to hex totems, how is this still not adressed?

I just spawned literally next to a hex totem, I destroyed it before the wraith (With speed addons even) could reach me.

It is just ridiculous imo, you use up an entire perk slot as Killer which is btw anyway a unfair disadvantage and also a HUGE deal with 1 killer perk against 16 survivor perks which can also be stacked btw.

Atleast make ALL hex totems be lit 20 sec after the game start just like the pinhead box or onryo Tvs activate later.

60 sec would be way too much, Ruin can be very devestating, especially in the early game.

U couldn't be more wrong, ruin literally just works by pressuring the game, and the early game is the hardest time for killers, that's why people bring corrupt, ruin is going to do nothing if u don't get ur first down

Unfortunately they’ve been in this state since their inception which is basically years. They’ve stayed in the perpetual, “always being improved and worked on” status indefinitely but still never actually becoming reasonable or good. At this point it’s basically never getting fixed.

They talked about this in the last Q and A:

    39:09.

Tldw:if you start putting a bunch of checks where a survivor can't spawn while still keeping it random. It's more likely for you to spawn near or next to the killer. Also if you say a hex cannot be within a certain radius of a survivor when they spawn in. And everyone spawns split up or covering like half a map. You know the general area of the totems anyway by process of elimination.

Yeah I spawned in direct view of one in a recent game. Totally unfair. Another suggestion could be to let the killer select pre match, which totem/s they want to use (without seeing gen locations)

I am still for a revamp of totem locations aka let them spawn inside small alcoves inside trees, crates, rocks, bushes, walls and other map debris.

This way the wouldn't be visibly from average 50-100% of all sides but only 25-50%.

This would also allow for the creation of way more dead spots that "could" have a totem inside.

Or tune down totem effects and give those alcoves little curtains of leaves for nature based alcoves or cloth for things like crates and walls like worn down tapestry.

I definitely feel you on this. But, on the flip side, sometimes they last all game, which gives tremendous value.

That is the gamble with hexes.

But, l play end game basement trapper currently. So, they can finish the gens all they want, My snow ball is just getting started.

    My idea was:

Make every Totem, Hex or not, look dull.

the Map (or even key too, w/e) can reveal the hex totem, it solves two problems:

-two items that barely have any use

    -hexes being found immediately

    -"do totems"

If you know there is a totem, but can't see which, exceptions would be Totems that are tied to hex: plaything (or maybe even they should be hidden(?).

I would love to see such a test, just to experiment with how it feels. On the test-server, one week maybe, then take a poll and we would have an overall idea if these things could work or are totally garbage. On paper, a million ideas sound great but can be problematic.

People would do all totems just to be sure they get the right one (if they don'T have a way to reveal it) and it could make a new perk where you see hex:totems

You can also pressure survivors off gens by just injuring them, thats where the streangth of that perks comes, you can juggle around the gens without hooking someone and therefore pressure the entire game, thats the whole point of this perk.

Ye but I never mentioned the spawns, thats the point of it. I also think that the spawn restrictions are a bad idea thats why I suggested that the totems should be lit 20 seconds later to keep most things as they are but simply do something against the insta totem cleanses.

Because when you start blocking spawn locations based on 'if it's near x' then that gives the players the ability to get an idea of the direction they need to go to find 'x'

Again I was never talking about spawn restrictions.... why are ppl just reading the titles?

Yeah but a totem spawning right next to a survivor is still worse as it requires no process of elimination :/

Didn’t the devs say they were looking at changing the spawning location?
