DBD killers are too fast
I was never a gamer until DBD was introduced to me by a family member. Ever since then I have been playing DBD every single day without fail. I love this game. However after playing for countless hours and matches, I am getting real frustrated at the fact the Killers run way faster than Survivors. It's bugging me to the point where I just give up and get sacrificed. I would love it if this issue improves in the future for Survivors because the slim chances of escaping or trying to escape the Killer is downright frustrating! I would hate to leave or reduce my playing time and hours with this game.

You aren't meant to escape.
Or to put it another way, part of the design of the game is that every killer is capable of catching every survivor at some point. The best you can do is draw out the chase and buy your team time. That's why you have to be hooked 3 times, instead of just the once.

There's a reason they're faster than you- you aren't meant to be able to escape them all the time every time.
For a bit of context a lot of people talk about movement speeds in this game in percentages, where every 0.2m/s is 5% speed increased. Survivors move at 4m/s, or 100%. Most killers (ie. Trapper, Wraith, Artist) move at 4.6m/s, or 115%, obviously not including powers. Other killers (like Spirit, Huntress, Trickster) move at 4.4m/s, or 110% sped (then there's nurse who moves at like 96% speed, I don't remember the exact value).
Either way they aren't that fast, and you'll be surprised how much time you buy by just running in a straight line.

The killer is supposed to be faster, which is why looping is so important to the game. Watch some YouTube videos and keep practicing. It’s a steep learning curve for new players but rewarding when you get better at it.

I disagree, I feel like Killers are way slower than they ought to be. But that's just me.

Survivors should be faster than killers

Yikes. Survivors move at 4.0 outside of nurse (whos slower than you) all move at 4.4 or 4.6....really not much faster. If they were soooo much faster Hold W wouldnt be metta. Killers have to chase, hit, chase hit, carry to hook 12 different times (hypothetically) what do the FOUR survivors have to do? FIVE gens thats it. Thats the only objective and right now survivor is so easy its boring. I recommend you git gud.

If killers moved at the same speed as survivors, it would take ages for killers to catch anyone, and in many situations it would be outright impossible.
What you need to do is learn to utilize the things survivors can do to buy time. Killers run faster than you, so you won't last too long if you run in a straight line, but they climb through windows much more slowly and they can't vault over pallets - they have to break them. Ideally, you want to be jumping through windows to shave time off your escape route and dropping pallets on the killer to stun them as well as force them to break them, as well as breaking line of sight and confusing the killer on where you are. You do leave behind scratch marks that the killer can follow (you can't see these yourself unless you run a certain perk), so you'll rarely fool them for long, but you can make those marks misleading by doubling back or simply not running for a short period of time.

Yeah no. Killers are supposed to be faster, so they can, you know, KILL Survivors? 🤦♂️

Given some of the things Survivors have legit complained about; I assume every complaint is legit, no matter how stupid or petty. 🙃

This is actually the first time I have seen this complaint, and I rarely ever give this advice because I hate the people who do it... However, just for you... Git gud.

Killers need more speed. Endless windows and L and T loops are starting to piss me off. Holding W will get you caught eventually though.

Resources, misdirection, and stealth are how you escape the killer in chase. If your trying to outrun them, your doing it wrong and at best just stalling for time.

We need a killer that ignores all obstacles as a passive power and moves at normal killer speed

The comments here sums up the community very well. Everybody knows the killer is suppose to be faster than the survivor, if you actually take a look at the title it says "TOO FAST", not "FASTER"?

And if you actually look, this thread is dead for over a month now.

I understand - when you first start out, killers seem unbeatable. Once you get a feel for looping, and running away while watching them - you'll realize that survivors have umpteen ways to elude the killer for ages.

Killers run faster than survivors in the open, but survivors being able to vault helps them outrun killers in practice in the short term. If killers couldn’t outpace survivors in the open though they’d never down anybody.

Love me a good necropost
