Have the devs addressed the Pig camping one box with
The Pig had the Video Tape add-on. Picked one box and prevented YJL from taking hers off. Basically got boosted for the trial. This was solo queue as far as I know. The Kate popped the first gen.

I don’t see why it needs changing. Didn’t the devs say that kills are the only metric that matters when it comes to skill? This strikes me as more of a skill issue.

Not yet. I wouldn’t be shocked if at some point they tweak the jigsaw boxes so survivors can use them from the side though. It’s probably just pretty low priority.

I dont feel there’s anything wrong with this tactic. The goalie end game build may be a problem though. Somethings going to get nerfed for that one.

Really hope it gets fixed maybe do it like pyramid head cages where it disappears after a certain amount of time and goes to the other side of the map or something

The people writing the code would only have to make it so that a survivor can search the first box that they have searched already, once all but one of them have been tried. Maybe in 2 years time they implement something like that, causing an unrelated crash on Myers when using PWYF.

There is a way to combat this... All, not everyone is privy to leaving the game alive, just like the Saw movies.
Finally, boop the snoot in my games (gift also required if you have one on you) for free passage and easy gate escape. I can't speak for other Pigs but I'm at least merciful if you play nice.

Nah that wouldnt fix it, they are never AFK.
Either they change the addon entirely or they fix it with "Increases number of Jigsaw boxes to 5, it guarantees the key is in the 4 box you search" this way the effect of the addon remains the same but the Killer cant block/camp them to get zero effort kills.

Easy fix for this iridescent addon. Instead of every survivor gets a head peace at the start of match. To any survivor that completes a gen recieves a ahead trap. And head trap become active.

This... would not change anything, since the Pig can still be afk at one Box and at some point the Survivors would need to do Gens.
If anything, this makes it even stronger since you cannot coordinate anymore to get a good outcome out of this "strat". (Let alone that the coordination would not work in Solo-Queue anyway)

To clarify, the fix would be to make it so killers can't literally be afk almost an entire match and get kills. The killer having to actually be in the game and attack survivors to get kills at boxes doesn't really need a fix in that sense.

I'm all for just completely reworking the addon because I don't understand why it exists in the first place (except because of lore?). But what about this: If the Video Tape addon is used then survivors can escape via the gates.
This means if the Pig AFKs and survivors genrush/99 all gens, they can all escape. If the Pig plays normally and pressures survivors they can't genrush so hard or 99 gens without risks. The only problem with this suggestion is that new/unaware players won't know they can escape through the gates.
I'm still in favour for a rework though because my suggestion isn't friendly to inexperienced or solo queue survivors.

In my opinion it does, mainly because there is no counterplay to a RNG situation where the Killer has to put zero effort.
I have no problem with blocking the last box if you chased someone, trapped him, learned which 3 boxes he searched and deciding "well, you die now because I know I can block the last one", the Survivor had a chance and the Killer put some work but the VHS tape is zero effort, you spawn, go to a box and call it a day, whoever cant get the trap off dies without any way to avoid it since she will always be able to force them out of the box.
With my suggestion the traps behave the same, best case scenario you get the trap off with the first box, worst you get it off with fourth (same as non VHS addon gameplay) the only difference is the Killer cant block anyone from getting them out because there is a fifth box and the key is guaranteed on the fourth you search.
Knowing BHVR its either a fix where there is a realistic way of getting the trap off or reworking the addon entirely, I think the tape is an interesting twist on the match and I dont want it reworked into something else entirely but I dont like the way it rewards the user for doing nothing.

Had a Pig doing that. I had a trap and a Pig was....pfft.....hogging the box...HAHAHAHAGAGA....ahem but yea she wouldn't move but I dropped my item crouched up to her and booped the snoot and she stepped to the side and allowed me to get the trap off. Try it some Pig players just want a snoot boop, but remember don't rush a crouched pig you may startle her and no one wants a startled Pig

This just doesn't seem like a problem worth addressing. The killer does a meme that has a chance of getting kills but requires acting like a dick for an entire trial. The survivors can end the game and get some points. Who cares? This doesn't seem like it's taking the world by storm, it's trolling that's unlikely to kill you. Do gens and either die or escape. 75% is great odds.
Ever go against a SWF all running anti-hook builds? Sometimes the other team ######### with you. Make the most of it and queue up. The game is more fun when you don't take it seriously.

It's quite easy to escape tbh.
99 5 gens then pop them all at once (1 person does 2), open the gate and the survivors without a trap escape giving the last person with a trap the hatch.
Only when there are 2 or more with a trap on at the end, sacrifices has to be made.
But most of the times only 1 will have a trap on at the end of the trial, so pretty much a 0k/4E
