"Nurse too hard" boo hoo.
Yeah, no kidding. I've just played a game against an average Nurse and the others were basically throwing.
If they weren't doing it on purpose they were simply clueless.
Let's run in a straight line in the open, let's discard the option of healing, let's throw pallets down, let's jump down while in a chase, let's unhook right next to the killer, ... great moves, all of them.
That's an almost complete "how not to play" right there.

Survivors who cry about nurse aren't good, they hold onto deadhard and once that's gone they've got nothing.

There's a strong overlap between players who give up against Nurse and players who do the worst possible things in chase against Nurse. The animation locks especially kill me. What is a window going to do?
I get the frustration of not knowing what to do, but that doesn't mean there's nothing a player *can* do. Players get significantly less practice against good Nurses because the skills don't translate. The closest thing would be Huntress and that's a stretch.

Going against Spirit has some commonalities, the stealth part at the very least.
Which reminds me : I'm still in my survivor games (too early for killer) and I'm getting abysmal level survivors with me (I think I'm average). We were against a Spirit. She was not able to even hook me once (and, doing a rift, I took her attention quite often). The game was as good as won. I took a hit to get the aggro while the 3 others were on a gen. They finished it but somehow managed to not even start opening a door. The killer had NOED (expected) and it ended up as a 3K.
Or right now against a poor Pig (camping, but I can't blame her : Mother's Dwelling, 3 gens done and 2 hooks). NOED again, and my teammates were managing to sandbag and position themselves in the worst possible spots every single time. Last play of the game: two down, one Meg that I see going towards the down so I'm getting the attention of the killer for a few seconds. Surely it was enough for an unhook and maybe even a heal. Aaand I see her crouching under bush a few meters from me T_T. The dream team xD.

The GOD Nurse can't be beat...but let's be honest that Nurse is highly, highly uncommon and Nurse slashers themselves are a rare breed nowadays despite her legacy and being a free killer.
On one hand there's a metric ton of slashers today and memorizing all of their eccentricities isn't very realistic if you're a casual player, but on the other hand Nurse is free and most players can instantly grasp she's the one that can go through walls/floors and has a default aura perk that lets her know if you're standing still and healing.
It's another person piloting that pac man ghost. Get in their head.
If you really want to face Nurse take a rift challenge that requires you to drop pallets or get into a chase with the killer. That always works for me.

Yeah, the matchmaking is another thing. Especially in solo queue. Most players struggle with the game sense side of things even if they're ok in chase.
It makes sense when you consider most survivor guides focus solely on the chase aspect and nothing else. And I get that. A 10 minute video on positioning and macro level survivor play isn't going to generate clicks. But it's often what wins and loses games.
1 -
Don't forget pallet camping against a Nurse.
10 -
I don't think there is such thing as a "god" Nurse. I've been called that often and all it is to me is "lucky streak" or "good day". Even among the best "public" Nurses you can see the mistakes and the good and bad days.
Yes, and it's not like seeing a guide will help that much. I guess as survivor or killer, I'm often getting matched with beginners. (Not always, thankfully)
2 -
They have a reason to. Nurse isn’t healthy for the game.

People who cry about dead hard aren’t good, they hold on to nurse and once that’s gone they’ve got nothing.
bad argument right? Well so is yours.

When I go against Nurse and my teammates disconnect or suicide on hook, you realize that Nurse really doesn't exist in a game sense anymore.
You can't really play Nurse when no one else is willing to play against her. I don't think I've had an actual game against Nurse in a long-long time.
2 -
Well the DCing is inexcusable but I still think Nurse shouldn’t belong in the game.
5 -
Nurse is perfectly fine in this game.
9 -
I rarely get wet cloth against me as Nurse. Some groups are so strong I can barely get one kill (but they really know all the counters).
Even the beginners do not behave like this. No, rest assured that the snowflakes are a minority in this game.
2 -
I'm sure it's the level of play SBMMR has put us in. Maybe you're lower or maybe I'm lower but in the level I'm in, Nurse games don't exist for me anymore. It's DCs or suicides on hook.
There has only been 1 Nurse game that I saw survivors play all the way through and it was really really bad Nurse. I would say that was at least 2 months ago.
I might just keep track of it because I'm curious now.

When I was still playing killer and was a Nurse main, I found that many survivors are absolutely clueless against Nurse. They pretty much make it so easy to down them you would have to be blindfolded to not hit them. Others on the middle of the scale are a bit smarter, they will at least try a juke such as an obvious double back or corner juke etc... but they tend to only have the same trick or two and once their DH runs out they are all out of ideas (Nurse mains tend to memorise your tactics so they know how to predict what you will do - you need to shake it up).
Then there are those teams that know every Nurse counter and they can draw every chase out as much as possible. They break LOS, are unpredictable and force you into having to guess their next more. Good survivors give you nothing as Nurse and you know pretty much straight away when you are facing them.
Anyway... yeah most of the people complaining are clueless, they want the killer to be changed as it is far easier than them putting in the effort...

So basically only the best survivors can deal with her?
1 -
Nurse isn't bad as a Killer. She is bad as a design.
1 -
I wouldn't think the high MMR games where players know how to play DC.
A trick to guess how close you are to the MMR (soft) ceiling is to see how many cheaters to encounter.
In my opinion, and it's worth what it's worth, DCs are from average survivors who have the wrong expectations. They've seen some streamer do something. The Dunning-Kruger effect kicks-in. They expect to do as well as Mr "famous" and fail, miserably. They usually resolve that cognitive dissonance by disconnecting.
I rarely see that in hard games and never in the easy ones. It's really in decent but not too strong games that it may happen. (Again, my experience)
1 -
To be fair, Nurse seems to instantly down sometimes, like you have to Dead Hard preemptively or else she downs you, because there's zero time to react.
0 -
No, only the ones who have put the effort to learn something else than the hold-W, DH, pallet sequence.
I'm not a very good survivor and I hold my own against her. Better than against other killers actually. Because I know how she works and her weaknesses.
The fact she has, globally, the lowest kill rate of all killers also says something about that.
1 -
So basically survivors should be able to live without any defense?
Also bring up kill rates, let’s nerf pig again.
1 -
Without any defense? They have plenty that are working way better against her than against other killers.
1 -
The thing is, nurse is not as difficult as people make her out to be, and if she's using her best add-ons she's also extremely forgiving of her own mistakes
2 -
Nurse has plenty of counterplay, entitled survivors just want their braindead pre-drop hold w 'strategies' to work equally on every killer to make sure they can get that sweet tbag in at exit gate.
5 -
The best survivors adapt their playstyle depending on who they're facing. So yes. Only the best can deal with her, because they'll adapt to deal with her. Everyone else who tries to vs a Nurse using the tactics and strategies of other M1 killers are destined to have a rough(er) time.
0 -
If you think that being capable of using more than one counter over and over and actually understanding the basics of the killer being played against makes someone one of the 'best' survivors... well it may be time to start looking at oneself instead don't you think?
Most people playing Nurse will struggle to get a single kill against the best survivors, even the comp level Nurses need to have limits on survivor perks to make it fairer on them.
1 -
But why do immediately run to the best of the best?
I can assure you there is little that can do that.
1 -
She needs nerfs. I hope she gets them soon.
10 -
Huh?
You do understand that you are meant to waste the killers time, not be able to completely avoid them even downing you at all right?
There are plenty of counters to Nurse but most survivors seem to be clueless and don't even attempt to adjust their play style.
A weird problem I had when I was playing a lot of Nurse is that I got so used to survivors being really bad that I would get sloppy and lazy and my skill level dropped. So when I did face survivors who were even slightly decent I struggled as it can be easy to get used to everyone being hopeless.
I guarantee these hopeless survivors are the same ones who come to forums to complain about Nurse. Not saying that a truly good Nurse isn't really difficult to go against in public matches either... but the reality is most Nurses aren't that good, it is just that most survivors are REALLY bad.

You people really love blowing how hard nurse is out of the water.
1 -
Nurse seems easy when stealth is non-existent. Survivors being too weak against the killer meta. People all die way more to Huntress or Blight because they exist in huge numbers.
Anyone saying Nurse is easy needs to pick Lerys map with no perks. That's equivalent to playing a regular solo match right there.
3 -
Do you have tips for Hollow Knight? Map is so confusing me.
0 -
Cliche of that Nurse is not that good, survivors are very bad. Sure.
Dead Hard is not broken, killers are so bad.
2 -
Use the Wayward compass, you can buy it from Iselda in dirt mouth for 220 geo.
0 -
What I like is that all the other killers in the game are limited to pallets and walls and do fine. But Nurse is able to completely avoid looping yet she is on the exact same level as the other killers.
I'd love these players to go against someone who is good at playing Nurse, like Otz, and show us how easy Nurse is to counter. I guarantee they would be 4ked over and over again.
2 -
I am new at game, where i can find Dirth Mouth. I met with old guy who sold me map but it is still so confusing. I don't know where i am
Nurse is ignoring everything survivors have. She makes Dead Hard fair and balanced against her. Terrible design.

you’ll need to explore a bit
go down and to the left, than keep going until you see a stag station sign, follow it,
Dirtmouth is where you met elderbug after leaving kings pass

Thanks, i will try.

Nurse is my favourite to go against. It used to be Spirit but she's not as challenging as she used to be since her nerf. I can hold my own against an average nurse, but a skilled nurse can be difficult. Best way to learn how to counter her isn't by throwing a game though. It's simply practice.
My least favourites to go against are Deathslinger and Trickster, because I still struggle with dodging their attacks. I see going against them as a good opportunity to learn.
2 -
I have to agree. I just started playing nurse last night and it started out horrible, but after about 10 games i was wrecking teams at 4 gens, because they were not breaking line of sight running in a straight line, and crowding around a newly hooked survivors. Nurse is hella fun
1 -
Have you noticed how many are arguing there are "god Nurses" and that's bad, but once it's pointed-out that good survivors (not "gods", merely good) hold their own, it appears to be an invalid argument? Anyone got the definition of double-standard somewhere?
And everyone saying she has no counters and discards "every" defense of survivors really is saying he doesn't know how to play properly yet.
7 -
If you're talking about the lunge before reappearing, I don't think they know how to fix it.
Her reappearance mechanic was changed to prevent that (iirc, around the time she was nerfed) yet that bug has been in the game for just as long as the (failed) fix.
Now that she's been recoded from the ground up and that still exist, I don't think it will ever change.
1 -
Maybe it's a latency issue (survivor, killer, servers). Survivors are meant to see the Nurse "land" before the killer does.
I think preemptively doing a Dead Hard would only work with the second blink and if the Nurse didn't anticipate it.
Even without watching her (which you should do), you can still hear her charging a blink. This allows you to guess her maximum distance (but not minimum as she can work around that). Once the she uses that blink, you can know when she'll "land" (it's a constant, even if she blinks down) and thus you'll be able to Dead Hard right on time. No time reaction needed.
1 -
"Rules of thee not for me!" summarizes the anti nurse comments on this thread I agree.
Also I just want to point out that if a god nurse is facing off against bad/average survivors either they are smurfing or more realistically SBMM had failed as a god nurse should never be against bad/average survivors to begin with.
5 -
I've heard that some the most recent generation(s) were raised on a "everybody gets a prize" philosophy. (Which I find horribly destructive : way to destroy the drive to be the best at something in a child)
I wonder if this is a direct consequence of this.
3 -
If you're not a good survivor like you claim you've probably never encountered a true God nurse I promise you you'll change your tune about all that once you play against one, even the best nurse can be countered though its a skill vs skill situation, either you're really good with her or you're terrible there's almost no gray area with nurse and the majority of people who play her throw her away immediately because of the learning curve and having to keep up with information in every match about how each survivor runs , do they double back or hold w etc...

Nurse needs to be hard to play considering just how strong she is.
