Stadia skill checks impossible
• Stadia
• Any skill check that should be performed is impossible, the usually M1 on controllers does not work and I’ve tried many other controls to try and complete a check but it’s like it was completely disabled and it’s very frustrating not being able to repair or heal at all due to this.
• Open dbd on stadia ( I’m using my TV )
• use an Xbox controller
•play as surviver
• Repair a gen and attempt skill check
• Skill check will probably be impossible to do
This happens every time I play on every round I’ve tried turning off my tv getting out of the game etc..
• Every map
• Dead hard, iron will, resilience, spine chill
• Played as Nancy
• Extremely frequent
( This might just be my game but I’ve seen others talk about this )

Change the resolution to 1080p that sorted out my skill checks. Hope this helps

Idk I feel if I do that it might become laggier and I’m not sure how that would work if you know could you go more in depth?

Hi, tbh I do not have any issues with skill check lags at all playing on PC (Chrome Browser) or TV (CCU). They also appear to have modified it some versions ago were you have some grace time.
Just a quick question to get it out of the way as you have not mentioned it. Have you set your TV on gaming mode and does your TV have a true gaming mode? Most TVs do have a general latency added due to the image processing and improvement running by default. The highest latency is added by any image interpolation technique that is rendering additional frames. If you have not done this yet, when gaming, disable all image pre-processing and improvement options on your TV and if your TV has a dedicated gaming mode set it to this.
Another cause for the added lag you are experiencing could be either general higher ISP latency (I average at around <10ms modem to server) or 10-15ms from devices to server (PC, CCU, etc). I am connected via ethernet cable. If you are forced to use Wifi, make sure you are enforcing 5GHz connectivity. 2.4GHz has a much lower bandwidth and much higher latency. Downside with 5GHz is that it does not as much range as 2.4GHz especially if there are multiple concrete walls in-between.
Client to Server network latency is affecting by following: Device to Router/Modem ms + Router/Modem to Server ms . Stadia has an additional Additional Jitter Buffer (to avoid micro-jittering of the image) which usually is around 20-25ms on Chrome (I dont know how high this is on CCU), and since you are using an XBox controller you will also have an additional Controller to Device and Device to Server Input lag. The amount of this lag will depend on the connection type: wired vs bluetooth.
So TLDR, I'd look at the following:
1) Disable image pre-processing/improvement function of your TV when playing Stadia
2) Enable gaming mode if your TV has this option
3) Check ISP latency, to rule out that is generally high
4) Use Ethernet (good, unbend/unbroken cables)
5) If you have to use Wifi, enforce 5GHz in router settings, and ensure you have a strong signal while on 5GHz
Sorry for the long post. I hope this helps.
