Can I get reported for doing purple glyphs?
so lately i've been doing the purple glyph challenges. I REALLY dislike these for being boring and tedious, but I want to get them, bank the blood points and move on. The glyph is invisible and constantly moving but has a purple goo trail. I'm just spending upwards of minutes searching different areas (multiple times remember because it's constantly moving) and since I can't gen patrol and chase survivors while i'm wandering around aimlessly looking for it the survivors are not gonna know what's going on. So they see this happen and think "well, they're not even trying to play the game, I'm gonna report them for it." I don't think devoting your playstyle around doing your selected rift challenge is a bad thing that should be discouraged. I just don't want to get reported and lose my account because the survivors i'm playing with are all mad at me because i'm not trying to chase people.

To a survivor it just looks like you're patrolling the map like a blind person, but if you play normally the glyph usually ends up bumping into you.
Could you imagine if a player could get in trouble for trying to do a game challenge though? Lol.

Spoiler:
The purple glyph aura shows up on BBQ & Chili. :)

Slug the last and go look for it. They always turn up midchase during 3 gen I find 😅

The developers keep putting challenges that make you ignore what you're "supposed" to be doing (or take way longer to do if you play normally) so if they really didn't want people doing it they wouldn't keep putting that stuff in the game

In addition to what others have said, you can't get in trouble for playing the game badly, and there's no way to distinguish a killer wandering around aimlessly looking for a glyph from a killer wandering around aimlessly because they are bad at the game. If you could get banned for playing poorly then it would happen to every brand new player.

The aura even gets revealed without BBQ equipped afaik. It’s pretty much always after booking someone.
so to OP: it’s actually best if you at least play the game normally until the first book, then go to the glyph and search for it (still moves) and after that continue to play the game. That way you get even more BP and you don’t waste an entire match for you or the survs 🤷♂️

How do I book someone? hehe ;)
But yeah, it's very easy - much easier than survivor glyphs. I especially hate the white one. That glyph you really have to throw the game.

You don't have to worry. (Although, as it has already been pointed out, it's easier to find the glyph simply hooking survivors)

Oh man. I hate this autocorrect. And I am convinced sometimes it changes words way after I have written them -.-
and I kinda hate the white glyph as well because I can’t just do it in a normal match since I need to be sure that I can escape with it for those 25K bp

PUBG rn. Added an item that gave wallhacks, is now banning players for wallhacks.

False, actually. Its shows up like BBQ, but not because of it.

What @GentlemanFridge said, it shows istelf after you hook a survivor, with or without BBQ. And it's a much less tedious way of doing it than just going about searching for it, there's no need to do that.

Don´t worry.
I usually search for the glyphe and if i got it then i play normal.

No, because then all the farming killers would be banned and they aren't. I would just do your glyph and then do your best at the rest of the match. I do the same on survivor when I have to do the white glyph, the first thing I do is find the basement (so I'm not wandering around with the glyph not knowing where the basement actually is) and then I go get my glyph and do it. After that, I just play the match like normal and hop on gens.

Absolutely!
You can be reported for looking at a survivor wrong.
You can be reported for not pressing ready in lobby.
You can be reported for anything really. Because there are no punishments for frivolous reports.

ok, i'm gonna report every survivor who uses dead hard until it gets reworked to stop taking the satisfaction of making good plays away from killers (this was sarcastic)

I often play normaly and at the end of the match I search for the glyph. If I see It randonly, I get it

You don't need to escape with the white glyph, u just gotta repair it in the basement
1 -
For the 25K extra Bp you have to escape though. And that’s exactly my problem, if you repair it in the basement and then don’t escape, you lose the chance for the 25K BP
0 -
Oh, sorry, i thought you just meant the 25k you get from the challenge

That's why I only do the white glyph during the end-game collapse when I'm sure I'm going to get out. Which also means I get stuck on this challenge for a while because of all the games where I refuse to do the glyph because it's obvious I'm not going to get out...
1 -
But you should - you get 25.000 BP for escaping with the mirror!
Now that i know that i really try to escape with it.

You shouldn't get banned for something BHVR put in and knew people would do stuff like this. It's just like you shouldn't get banned for little exploits or glitches. They should just fix it.
0 -
Absolutely not. They clearly want this because they keep making new glyph challenges that increasingly take more time.

You getting banned for doing your challenges is literally the most bhvr thing ive heard. So idk. It could happen.
I mean choosing yourself over survivors. Despicable.

no, even if was, proving it would be hard.

well I've done every purple glyph and wasn't reported enough to get banned. I just hope tomes 11+ do not have a killer exclusive challenge that ask me to generally ignore average gameplay. It was REALLY nerve racking knowing that in every match I did that there were up to 4 people who could get all grouchy about someone not doing what they consider "participating in normal gameplay" and lose what I worked on for 3 years. I just hope the devs rework or eliminate the purple glyph in the future.

U can see the purple glyph if u hook someone (no U don't need BBQ)
0 -
Purple Glyphs show up like a BBQ aura, btw. You'll see a white floating diamond somewhere on the map when you hook someone, regardless of the perks you have equipped. Makes it a little easier to find it.
As for the question of being banned, I fail to see how it's reportable, let alone bannable. You're not doing anything that breaks the game.
