Is MMR still on?
I took a massive break from this game for awhile, as killer I got back to Gold IV and I consistently go against a SWF red rank I. Is MMR still even on? or is my matchmaking just that bad? Even though I'm a gold rank going against Red Rank I does that make me as good as Red Rank I? Or does it make them only as good as a Gold IV killer? What's your take on MMR as of now?

Is it night time for you? That's when it seems like mmr doesn't exist

Understood my good person. Kinda sucks that no matter how long of a break one can take, you'll always be cucked by the system

SOME kind of MMR existed in old ranking system. Not saying it was good, but it wasn't as soulcrushing as it is now.
Example: When i started playing, my first games as killer were vs ranks 20-17. Not so bad.
So not long ago i bought my brother DBD. His first game as a killer? Full lobby of Iridescent 1 swf players. First game as survivor? An absolute GOD of a Huntress, ofc rank 1 too.
Needles to say, he uninstalled after few games.
Me and my swf now, despite all of us being ranks 1-3 iridescent, get Ash 4, completely new killers too. Like how the hell they're supposed to learn and ENJOY the game if they're getting crushed like that.
2 years ago switching killers in lobby was turned off under a weak excuse of every of them having a separate skill rating, which is absolutely BS with today's MMR. Why killers can't switch but survivors can? It feels nice to be able to spend your BP on something else and then switch to something you actually want to play as.
Old MMR wasn't good, but definitely wasn't as bad as the one we have today

Ranks no longer equal skill just amount of time played and escaped or killed
