Before this becomes a thing.
So there's a topic going around of the ratio of killers to survivors, which has been found using an outside source, which I doubt is against the rules because it's just tracking traffic from your computer to your network to what you connect too.
Now with that outta the way in that picture there's 10% Killer in queue with a large amount of Survivors waiting, this isn't actually groundbreaking, there's always been more Survivors vs Killer this ratio isn't concerning as it means more Killers are getting faster queues and games the program doesn't track players in games; it tracks queues.
The data you are trying to religiously quote isn't showing you people in games, meaning this isn't accurate data; this is like those who quote steam charts while there isn't data from every other section of Dead by Daylight Like Console, etc.
The person who posted all this has also admitted this is one server and all data will change from server to server, they've admitted this doesn't show people in games they've admitted this isn't 100% of the picture; they've only show what we've known for years while the ratio of Killers waiting on games is low, which is good btw the ratio of survivors waiting for games is interesting.
Before you start getting up in arms about the % it's important to understand unless you know nerd talk you won't understand why this isn't ground breaking the % of Killer and Survivor has always been different it's a 4-1 ratio of course it's different.
The most interesting part of it all is MMR isn't taken into account when matchmaking, which uh Behavior, does this mean MMR isn't on biggest prank of the year if yes.

You don't understand nerd talk it's clear if you're calling it cope. Even the person who shared it explained the exact same thing. Instead of saying Cope prove me wrong I'll wait.

People really like to find anything they can to hate on the devs and give them #########. I've just gotten to the point where I'm entirely on the devs side, despite some of their questionable decisions. Its really tiring to see people get a hate boner/farm hate for content against bhvr; any actual criticism is completely drowned out by people who take stuff out of context or flat out lie about things.

Yeah, it's sad when the person who posted all this data has to damage control because people are using the data without understanding the context and how it's only on one server its missing a ton of context.

I read the article, and while I found the data as expected, the one thing I was concerned for was the inclusion of the CloudID, which is concerning, especially after the period of DDoS attacks and swatting of content creators.
It'd be nice to see data from different regions and to be able to compare them to see the bigger picture across the player base.

I agree it’s not as bad as it may first seem. What it does show however is that the game has a surplus of survivors after taking the 4:1 ratio into account, which is less than ideal. Killers could do with some love to bump those numbers up. It’s a common sentiment that the game is survivor sided and that killer can be a chore to play, which I’m sure does play into their lower than ideal population.

Tbh it also doesn't take into consideration different times of day, different servers, etc.
In EU there are instant survivor queues during the day + slower killer queues and then the opposite it true at night. There needs to be a better balance sure... or you can just play survivor during the day and killer at night lol.

I see what you mean, with all the bad takes, and the hating on the new animations til they got removed, and the people going to BHVR's Instagram when they release new cosmetics and the top comment is always "Cool but fix ur gaem." That's just uncalled for. But the devs just love to present themselves as incompetent and tone deaf in every balance change they come out with, in every Q&A they do, and in every viral clip of them saying something stupid. You can't be entirely on their side, or you won't be there to criticize them when it matters most. They can't be allowed to ignore the community and hasten the game's death. That's why the devs' cheerleaders, I like to call them, in the content creator community for this game are hated just as badly by a sometimes vocal minority, because they won't criticize the devs one bit and applaud every nonsensical game change they make just because it's "new and exciting."

Yes. It only shows the surplus of players in the queue and that's it. Realistically what the data means is that there is a lot of space for active matches on the servers and a ton of games going at once.

The stats show, that the survivor role is more appealing than the killer role. Way more appealing to the majority of our playerbase.
Now make with that information what you want.

I heard about this and never really looked into it.
Did the person who revealed this information show examples from multiple times during a day? Since we all know ques are better for killers at night.
Good thing he admitted it was only from 1 server.

We've known that for a very long time though. This basically gives us nothing.

There are still people that claim everything is fine, because they have instant survivor lobbies on a monday at 9 am.
4 -
Yes.
And it shows what we already know - during some point of the day Survivor Queues are instant and Killer takes longer.

That article has some misleading info. When you drill into it more the actual ratio is very close to 24.5% of players are killers at peak times, not 10%.
Basically the article only looks at players waiting in lobbies, but obviously the vast majority of players aren’t in a lobby, they’re in a match. For example, in that article its chart at peak 4PM time it shows about 750 survivors in a lobby and 50 killers (which makes sense since it’s putting killers in the matches immediately and survivors are waiting a bit). But at 4PM Steamcharts shows about 46,000 players playing the game, so there are thousands and thousands of additional players in actual games versus the lobby. When you take that into account it works out to more like 24.7% of players are killers, not 10%.

The person who did the digging said the killer vs survivor ratio is even worse on EU servers which explains the long wait for even solo queue in prime time.

Seemed like it was pretty pointless info lol

Agreed. We don't know what the ratio is year over year. We don't know what a healthy ratio is considered to be. We don't know what the overall trend is. We don't know how the ratio changes depending on the time of day or the the day of the week.
The numbers don't seem great at first glance, but the entire field of statistics and data analytics wouldn't exist if these things were that simple to interpret.

I mean, because it is fine? The queue times for me in NA EST have remained the same since blight's release in 2020 (with the exception on chapter release weeks when queues are long on both sides).
I used to wait 5+ minutes for killer queues in 2020 at night, up until that chapter when it because instant-30 seconds. Long queues for both survivor and killer during the day and night.
Ever since then, it's been instant (2 minutes at most) survior up until around 7pm at night, when I switch to killer because queues are up to like 1 minute. Killer queues in the day for me are up to 10 minutes. Longer than I've ever waited in survivor queue since 2020.
As far as my region goes, there is no change, but people still scream the game is dying? I just don't see it.
