what is going on with the community
Literally half the players (okay propably like 90%) complain about everything in the game. Is this some thing that og players dont talk here sikce half of the discussions are cringing about dead hard and noed being too good. Clearly you have forgotten how bad dedicated servers were. "ds is so op" okay these players wouldnt last a day with old inifites, perks and "mechanics"

Just because old dbd was worse doesn’t mean current dbd is perfect. There’s still many issues players want addressed hence the complaining

This era is over, move on. You being "og" doesn’t mean you have a better opinion.

people gave up complaining about problems that clearly won't get fixed
so they might as well complain about something that still has hope to get fixed / nerfed / buffed

I'd call it bitching.
Constant.
Bitching.

It’s not like people are just complaining for the sake of it. Sure, that happens, and it’s a common thing with any multiplayer community, however not to this extent. There’s an underlying cause.

The problem is that people in forums (especially of a game) often watch content creators. And they also like to repeat what the content creator said.
You can literally wait for content_creator_x to release a video, and suddenly there are 10 posts about this problem.
Also: People are very passionate about a game they play for 300h, 500h, 800h, 1000h, 2000h(+). Of course, you get annoyed with certain parts of the game. EVERY game i was checking out in the community (Discord, Twitter, Forums, etc.) is the same. When it's a small game with a few people, it's nice, cozy and everyone gives a constructive critique. But then they grow and more people that don't know how to "complain the right way" join, and the snowball comes to form bigger.
Now 2 people complain, another one thinks it's a thing that always happens, then another one, etc. and so most problems seem way bigger than they are. This bubble grows inside of itself. That's why conspiracy works too, and so does a forum.
You can see that with the high MMR argument. There are so many claiming they are high MMR because they win a lot of games.
But even if you win 100games in a row, no one knows what MMR you have, except BHVR. AND EVEN NOW we don't know any comparison to low MMR (except play-style).
But this argument doesn't work if you watch people that play that game every day for 4h+ and win the majority of their games and still get "bad" players. The same i get "good" players with 5000h+ in my lobby.
Now back to the complaining:
The question should be "A lot of people complain, and it seems like they hate everything about the game, why does it seem that way?". A lot is frustration aka "i had a bad game and now need to vent" or some similar stuff where people couldn't get a DH player and say DH is the most broken thing, and everyone says so too :O EVERYONE NEEDS TO BE RIGHT!!!!!111!!!!
Even though i see more people messing up their dead hard than people actually using it well. I still don't like it, but it's definitely not as bad as a lot of people want to make it to be

This so much.
I'm sure 95% of people come here right after having a bad match, and complain or wanna talk about it, I know I have. Im sure most of you have if not all.
I really don't see why so many people complain about DH, I used to main killer and only played killer for a long time and even if they succeeded at their DH i caught up, many screw up and if u get super close to them most of them will use it and you can catch up.
Now about CoH, I'm now a survivor main and I gotta say that yeah it's nice to have an area to heal but most of the times I find we waste so much time looking for totems then blessing, then, after you're chased, if you escape you gotta run to the other side of the map to heal. I found myself not doing that many gens cause I was busy looking for a totem or rebooning, killers complain that someone they lost their chase against got healed when that person would've most likely been healed anyway by their teammates, yes its a faster heal inside a boon, but they already lost time off gens finding totems and blessing, then if the killer gets rid of it and know the boon location it's VERY likely it will keep getting undone so you need to run around the map and look for another location wasting more time you could be using on Gen repair

It's simple.
Oi dev's! Circle of healing is op and has destroyed the game. Please change it.
"dev's" Here.. we increased the healing time by practically nothing now shut up about the real issues with COH.
Repeat that interaction for every other issue on both sides and here we are.

You do realize COH was nerfed not so long ago right?
You say as if the devs never touched upon balancing the perk.
0 -
They basically didn't. That nerf was to give white knights amunition to defend them. Everyone knows the problem with it and it isn't 1 second extra healing.
4 -
Whether or not you thought the nerf was enough is your OPINION, which holds no factual evidence nor statistical numbers.
A mere conjecture should not be the focus of balance in a game like DBD. If I feel like Call of Brine is as much oppressive as CoH for survivors, that's just my opinion.

Bc og players have seen all of this many times before.

The game was much worse back then, yes. As others have already stated though just because the game was worse back then doesn’t mean it doesn’t have issues worth complaining about now.
It is healthy for a community to point out discrepancies and problems in a product. Especially one that heavily relies on balance and moderation. Of course said complaints should be addressed in a diplomatic manner but a community complaining about stuff in the game is not only sometimes necessary but also completely expected. This is not exclusive to the DBD community.

But it isn't just me, it isn't just this forum. peoples distaste for the perk and what it has done is everywhere that dbd content is present.
2 -
This is true but I could nerf all the perks being complained on and there would still be a million cry threads about some perk being op or about how they're quitting the game as if any of us should care they're leaving anyway, it's never going to stop Im inclined to agree with @Tr1nity that it's more constant bitching than it is valid complaints

What a coincidence, those are the same words I'd use to describe your post!

if you think dbd is all about complaining, visit r/halo.

i like this one.

These new servers literally do nothing, I'm running fibre straight into my machine and I'm still being hit on fast vaults 2 seconds after I've already landed on the other side.

DS is the best survivor perk even in its "nerfed" state, no idea why people circlejerk about it as though it functionally changed. I guess it proves how little understanding of the game they have which is fair enough. Most intelligent people are not going to take a party game particularly seriously and therefore the conversation is driven by those that do. Rofl...

Well, back in MY day, I had to walk to my computer 10 miles uphill both ways just so I could play one game of Dead By Daylight. So there!

Those old problems the game had that you mentioned aren't much different from today's problems. People tried to say how they weren't problems, and those with legitimate criticism of those problems were scoffed at and dismissed for a long time. Today it's the same.

I agree that there isnt significant change in the game itself, but as you might remember about year back when dedicated servers were so big problem, that in game killer was actually closer than in survivors pov. Just an example
