Flashlights need a nerf.

I know there are millions of topics on this all the time. This isn't a blanket Boo flashlights. They're fine However I just played a game where I was. playing a game where I was getting insta blinded by a flashlight.

Even if I turn away in time. I get back to back blinded and I mean instantly not even a delay in it.

I get blinded when the survivor isn't even facing me. it felt like I was getting blind from behind and that shouldn't even be a thing.

I know there are counters to flashlights so don't get me wrong.

Look up. Didn't have time as soon as I saw the light I was blind,

use lightborn. when you're going for adepts you can't do that.

how is insta blinding a killer over and over again any fun?

a forced delay between blinds would be great or when you blind it takes more out of the flashlight charge.

Would be nice if they were next on the add ons buff/change

I'd rather see keys get an addon pass first. Change all add-ons to do aura reading or some other cool stuff

The blind angles need looking at, as well as through walls

  • TeabaggingGhostface

Not to mention click spamming, as people with epilepsy could get an attack from it

Blind validation should also be a thing

I agree, flashlights don't need more nerfs (too situational and high risk). But devs don't even need to do all this coding. Just remove some translucent windows and walls would already help the killers.

That doesn't sound like OP flashlight. That sounds like outrigt hacking.

Out of everything in this game you choose flashlights ti complain about?

Some people complain about flashlights like it's old dbd where insta blinds existed

I think they're fine, just some of the angles that are possible are questionable outside field of view of the killer, the tiniest crack through a wall that the killer is not directly facing is a good example.

The only problem with flashlights from a balance perspective imo is double locker saves. Other than that they're fine.

I understand your frustrations but once you get in the habit of looking around after a down and faking pick ups to bait the flashlight users out they will actually get you more kills. Of all the items flashlights are actually the least threatening.

That really sounds like a hacker.

I'm all for making it so they can't spam the flash, as apparently that's something that can actually cause people to have seizures in real life, and you never want something like that in your game, but the actual blinding, when you aren't being screwed with by a cheater, is reasonable and fair.

As someone who despises flashlights, I agree. At least fix the angles because that's mainly what's causing the issues.

Flashlights are fine, even the ones with iridescent add-ons.

Medkits and toolboxes are way more powerful.

The only time I have an issue with flashlights is when they are doing the side by side locker juke. Other than that I feel flashlights are fine. If I down someone I fake the pick up and often get a free hit.

Iridescent add-ons seem more harmful them good to use, kinda bad.

You mean for the survivor? Some have managed to blind me on a tight timing or while I was moving in not even one half second thanks these addons.

It feels like a dried cherry blossom situation, sure it's good but it teaches bad habits.

honestly i don't think they need a nerf, but to some aspects sure

but if anything i think they should just fix the flashlight saves through walls, that feels extremely annoying

Pay attention to your surroundings if you don't run lightborn. Flashlight are only annoying when they do the locker tech.

Sounds like everyone doesn't read more than two sentences next to each other... the guy is saying flashlights are fine... and to be honest, most of it is but the angles where you should be blinded should be looked at, there are weird angles where you can be blinded even though you're not even facing the flashlights... now... do y'all care to read a single bit before posting a comment? Perhaps in that way, people could reach an understanding.

My personal favourite is getting blinded from about 15m away from behind a tree/bush when it's pointing at the side of my head & I'm facing a wall 0.1m away. Like how would that even remotely be possible? The angles need to be reworked so that you at least have to be within like 120 degree arc to the front of the killer.

Just listen to where the survivor is running after you are blinded. 90% of the time I get blinded, I'm right back on thr survivor because I can hear them.

that more less sounds like someone was hacking even if they weren't you have to take in that latency is in the game. Also only skilled survivors with flashlight can do this. Its not like every new player can do it

They are fine. If they are. In capable hands they are strong, and have counters. If you want to nerf something then nerf flashbangs. There are some killers that will cop a blind from that even if they are looking up because these devs can't code to save their life and made the blind radius insane on them...

Flashlights have been shadow nerfed constantly throughout the years. The timing/window for getting a save blind is very small now. Unlike before, flashlight saving does require a little skill. You can get the blind, but you won’t get the save if you don’t know the exact timing. Takes a lot of practice to nail it now. That’s why you see all these bad players running behind injured survivors in chase, thinking they’re Ayrun. They trying to get good at it.

When you’re at dropped pallets, kick the god ones and eat the blind. For the good ones, fake like you’re going around it then quickly return to kick it. Ignore the bad pallets. Play around that, and mind game them into sliding back and forth till you get the hit. Bad pallets usually work in the killer’s favor.

I personally don’t chase anyone with a flashlight clicking. They’re usually really good at looping and will waste your time. Take the free hits they give you, but don’t chase after them. Get rid of their team first. Those jerks don’t usually do gens anyway and just follow you around like asshats, hurting their team. This is exactly why so many solo Que players lobby dodge when they see a survivor with a flashlight. When you down someone, face the wall if possible when picking up. If they go down in the open, fake the pickup then move & look around for the flashlight user. If you haveHag, Trapper, or Demo- fake a trap/portal on downed survivor and do the same thing.

If you don’t have headphones, invest in a pair. They come in handy when you’re blinded at pallet breaks. You hear which direction they ran off to- especially if they’re hurt. If you don’t hear anything or see scratch marks leading away from the area, they are most likely still close and may have walked behind you when you were blinded.

I’m not good with flashlights but I think any more of a nerf and they’ll be useless. Lightborn really is a great counter when you see them bring 2 or more. Use it to bait and pretend like you’re looking away, then smack them if you can. Survivors don’t bring flashlights every game so eventually a killer will get his adept without Lightborn.

flashlight don't need a nerf, firecrackers need massive buffs

Add validation to flashlight blinds. Getting hit through dead hard because your dumb ass was too lazy to time it correctly is a problem, but no one has thought about turning away from a flashlight and getting blinded anyway

  • Ryan489x
    Ryan489x Member Posts: 1,498

that happened every time in that game. and a as some have said, a lot of you miss that I'm not saying flashlights are bad. I'm just calling out BS blinds that shouldn't happen.

Only problems I have with flashlights are the fact that you can be blinded from some insane angles, and locker blinds. Both of those need to go.

I even got blinded while picking up from behind and literally takes just a second.

Sounds like you faced a cheater rather than flashlights being broken.

But the devs do need to add some kind of delay to flashlights so you can't macro click them really fast and they make a really obnoxious sound as a result. That's probably the only nerf flashlights need.
