Love it or hate it… RPD
Hello guys! First post here and I decided to create this post based on a discussion about Hawkings and how people started to love that map after been removed.
I am one of the persons that loved diversity and actually loved Hawkings Map since their Stranger Things release and really miss an unique map like that with interesting ways to loop and chase…
Now, again, since release RPD has been placed in the same spot but it is actually insanely good for survivors having crazy windows, multiple drops, and guaranteed god pallets, but also pretty fun to chase if you know the layout and how to cut off survivors in different ways.
I would really love to hear your opinions about this now that we have the map in the live server for over half a year.

Hate it both as survivor and as killer. Gameplay is dull, it's either god loop or pallets that might not even be there, hook placements are terrible, corridors are tight and claustrophobic, the map is extremely dark and horrible to navigate. Sometimes people end up phase 2 just because it just takes too long to get to them. Totems are extremely difficult to find - have fun against devour hope, or snuffing a boon. Some places are just too dark. The optimization is garbage
It's a failure of a map, they should never have copy pasted it from RE.
Speaking of, just spawned in there :) Yay :)

I play RPD so little I neither hate it or love it. If I had a chance to learn it like Hawkins then I would probably like it but I hate using map offerings (my sparkly collection must grow). Also I know people hate map offerings because they can be sending you to an unfair map just to be a bully. I will begrudgingly use a map offering if I have been to the swamp 3-4 times in a row but only to get away from that map. I think most people hate indoor maps but as a killer there are a lot of line of sight breaks and that library is so busted. They balanced the library by putting hooks but took them out thus making it a dead zone again. I am all for more maps because it gets tiring going to the swamp and corn fields all the time. Variety is the Spice of life.

The form is great. The function relative to DbD is not so great. I feel like I can't play 75% of the killer roster on that map

It's a very confusing map until you begin to learn it a bit. Have had some good matches on it win or lose.

RPD is a wonderful map in terms of Resident Evil gameplay, and is absolutely the best part of RE2Make.
RPD is the worst map, easily, in terms of Dead By Daylight gameplay, and I really want to play something else whenever I load into it.
I despise RPD. It is not a good map.

Always liked Hawkins and RPD.
Really miss playing on Hawkins...

Hate it, and that's despite the fact that it's an awesome map for getting Reverse Bear Trap kills.

idk, used to hate it because I couldn't find anything - I now kinda know my way around it and the expectations for matches on that map are so low... that they somehow often turn out to be quite fun. Kinda like the joke that's so unfunny that it's funny again or something being so sad that you have to laugh. If we're swf we sometimes put it as the last map via offering before calling it a day - just to goof off/meme. Do love the aesthetics though.

Really fun to play on... as long as you're playing an actual Resident Evil game (barring the RE3 Remake because that's a disaster as well).
Really unfun to play on when you're playing the asymmetrical 1v4 horror game known as Dead by Daylight.

it is horrible but also favorable? Depends how you see it no?

Agree that variety is always good! And you can always make a custom game with a friend to lear new maps! Is such an unique map with great ambience

As others have pointed out, RPD was fantastic when it was created for the remakes of RE2 and RE3. It was a great environment for RE2's gameplay (and was perfectly serviceable for the time RE3 spent there too).
But DbD is not RE and the map doesn't work well here with DbD's gameplay loop. IMO, it fundamentally fails at being a good map for DbD by taking a lot of the worst elements of other problem maps and combining them into one.
It's too large, cramped, and convoluted to be a good fit for DbD.

Basically grabbing a map that already exists in another video game and spreading gens / hooks across it won't make it great for dbd because of how the maps are usually made in dbd.

The map has basically never been in a stable state whether it be bugs or other game breaking issues. Just put it out of its misery already
