Why don't DBD fix Macro flashlights?
If clicks are more than 2 in 1 second then disable flashlight for 10 seconds.
Simply apply said sudo code above and the problem is fixed, you are welcome

I wouldn't really disable the flashlight for 10 seconds. Sooner stop survivors from being able to do it, than punish them for doing so.
So like; When survivor let's go of flashlight, CD for like half a second.

Just set a like .2 second timer between clicks is all they really need. Still fast af but not spammable.

Just remove the one real potential issue with them, the lightning effects, because of photosensitivity issues. Really no point doing anything more unless we want to open the can of worms that is "Change X because it's annoying".

Because they want to squeeze out of DBD as much money as they can. That means that besides new DLCs they work only on stuff that is critically important: game breaking bugs or issues that could lead to bad publicity. Flashlight spamming does not fall into these categories, so it is ignored.

That's not the best option for disabling macro's... but this option might work... if you clic a flashlight, it remains lit for 0.5s... in this way, you will make that even if you stopped clicking, the flashlight remains being used. This will punish macro users mostly since they'll be stuck in place for 0.5s and they will lose the ability to spam flashlight, no matter which macro they use.

Some survs think it is "fun".
They don´t want to take the "fun" away i guess. Like t baggin.

It is a strategy. They are trying to get into your head.
Until you kill them and they type an essay about your personal life.

They still havent bothered adding a copy and paste photosensitivity warning to the game like every other piece of media with the slight possibility of inflicting any sort of epileptic episode, let alone spend half an hour coding in a simple check that requires a certain number of gameticks before a flashlight can be reclicked. Ironically the exact thing they did to make it so Deathslinger can't quickscope.
The radio silence even when someone discussed a family member having an episode caused directly by the game shows that they just don't care, which is an extremely bad PR look.

Simpler solution:
Each click of a flashlight takes .5 charges.
Click and holding the flashlight uses up .5 charges and then continues draining charges at the normal rate of 1 charge per second.
Click and holding a 10 second flashlight gives you 9.5 charges left, or can stay active for up to 9.5 seconds total.
A survivor spam clicks a 10 charge flashlight 20 times losing .5 charges per click = no more charges.
Obviously they might have to add 1 or 2 charges onto the flashlights at base to compensate for the .5 second charge loss per click, but I don't think a couple of extra charges will enable macro flashlights or rapid clicking again.
The hardest thing any electronic has to do is power on, and most old school flashlight bulbs (like for the flashlights in this game) aren't too durable for being rapidly turned on and off again. While the devs won't likely have flashlights break due to too many rapid clicks, they can at least have them drain the batteries faster. This won't fully stop rapid clicking for toxic people, but it will make their flashlights useless for doing it, likely reserving any macro clicking for the endgame toxicity at the gate, as opposed to all game long without any consequences.

There's not only macro. If you use your mouse's wheel, it sounds like macro. (But it's not.)
Maybe we should have an option to disable sounds. I've heard the sound a flashlight does when the click is spammed (with a macro or the wheel), it can be even dangerous. So, to be sure we can avoid it for healthy reason, having an option to disable some sounds would be nice.

I always liked the idea if they macro it then the flashlight blows up and they get put into they dying state.
I'd like that, would be funny afterall macro is just there to annoy. Hurts my ears and eyes...

As a survivor main i hate fellow survivors who do this, there is literally no other purpose than being annoying :/
I wouldn't mind this, I know sometimes normal clicks are used to get your teammate's attention but it's gotten to a point that its not as often as just spamming it for fun

Prepare to get tunneld hard if you're using macros. If you die, that's a win for me, idc for the rest of the team.
The only reasoning is to anoy the killer, so i'll make sure you don't have any fun either.

what about times where you need to "click" to correct a flashy save or something

may be to much for them.

I think it should burn it up faster. If you macroclick 40 times and 40% of your flashlight were used up then people wouldn't use a turbo controller or keyboard to abuse this. This issue is physically harmful to those with photo and audio sensitivity problems and must be stopped or at least penalized immediately.

They are too lazy.

Yeah, i think we should start to fix the things we find annoying.
In the same patch, lets freeze the killer for 10 seconds if he is around 16 m of the hook for say 20 secs, because camping is annoying, too.
