What if... dead hard gave no distance.
It would look weird, but what if dead hard just didn't launch you forward and just gave off the effect of not being able to be downed for like 1 second.

I think it would be better if Dead Hard prevented you from interacting with anything for a couple seconds.
So you couldn't just dead hard straight into a pallet or window.

That would make it an f teir perk

I think this is the better nerf.

You can dodge that hit, but no DH for distance..

What about just for distance but you can still be hit while deadharding

It's still terrible. That'll get you like an extra 3 seconds in chase. Sprint burst will become the new meta and then everyone will start complaining about that

Can't wait.
I'd rather Sprint Burst anyway.
1 -
Would you rather current dh?

No they should start glowing and this song plays for a second:

Nah. You'd just actually have to dodge a hit if you wanted the time to make it to a pallet or window.

SB is fine beyond luck and cheating. If you are holding it at 99, then you are not doing gens. If you are doing gens then you will waste sb at the start of the chase.
I had a survivor use it mid chase every time i found them. Even if i found them sitting on a gen and never saw them stop running to charge it during chase. Clearly cheating but how could i prove it?

Best idea yet

That's no different from what it is now, just use earlier and gets same result.

I don't like completely removing distance or making it so you can't interact with pallets or vaults as nerfs to the perk. They feel more like bandaid fixes that would make the perk straight up bad rather than trying to make it a viable perk.
My suggestion is you cut the distance by at least half so using Dead Hard to make it to a pallet or vault is less effective and give Dead Hard a bonus sprint burst if the killer swings and doesn't hit you during the shorter dash (and maybe within a second afterwards). Now Dead Hard rewards the survivor using it to dodge the hit while making using it for distance weaker. The main reason I don't think the distance should be completely removed is that the animation of the survivor dashing forward should still exist. This way killers don't start complaining that survivors are hacking as they have visual feedback as to what just happened.

You should remove distance entirely and instead give an endurance, here perfect skill for dodging.

Just make the perk only used for distance and remove the invincibility and hit validation. I think any other suggestion would just outright kill the perk

That doesn't make any difference to the perk, if anything else kill the perk, it's well deserved death for a broken perk.

No we shouldn't have perks be useless or terrible we should have perks that are strong but fair.
Don't let your bias effect game balance

Dead hard only being used for distance is what's currently wrong with the perk, which is why the phrase is such a meme currently. Because I could outplay a survivor and in normal circumstances have them down before the could reach the next window/pallets. Current dead hard allows them to press a single button and completely erase any outplay I did, and fix any mistake they made by getting them to the next area of safety.
I think having the survivors do a slight juke with visuals and i-frames would fix the issue with the perk, which is just dead harding to safety, while still extending chases slightly longer. Just not in a way where it adds 20-40 seconds to every chase.
But a lot of survivors don't like this idea and say it will kill the perk just because it wouldn't be as OP as it currently is. It would absolutely be balanced and still usable like this. But because it wouldn't be super strong and erase all mistakes, survivors don't want it.

Stop trying to reason with the people who want DH gutted. They just want the perk removed or rendered useless.
2 -
No matter what distances are, giving arbitrary distance at survivor's will can not be fair.
We better remove the perk if it can't be good without breaking the game.
Just as you said, your bias shouldn't mess with game balance.
