I'm convinced none of the people on this forum play killer after 10pm
The fact that no one sees how lopsided this game is. Survivors literally have time to make mini games inside the game. Killers don't have time to breathe for 1 second. And everyone just pretends it's not real. Everyone is just like so why are killers unhappy?
I am dumbfounded

I did. I played Killer from 9 PM - 3 AM for years.
I do not let it blind me when it comes to other issues. Killer is a stressful, miserable and all-together unfun experience when Survivors are competent. The simple fact is, Survivors aren't always competent.
Killer being a poor experience shouldn't dissuade people from talking about how miserable Solo Q is, for example.

Well there is a point when all the tryhards wake up and the game becomes even more unfun

I play a lot early morning (5am-7am) and weirdly, that's the time when I get my most even matches on either side. Some sort of sweet spot between the number of survivors and number of killers playing maybe (I have no idea).
For me, early afternoon is when I avoid killer.
This is, weirdly enough, why I always default to killer.
Survivor can be fun, and it's certainly more relaxing - but wow is it unengaging.
2 -
I literally do though...
3 -
That's the only time I have to play and it's fine for me. Yes there's a lot of SWF, but not all of them are SWAT style SWF.
Meanwhile as a solo queue, I just looped a Clown for 4 minutes and died on my first hook while the remaining 2 (one DC'd like 1 minute into the match) just urban evaded...
Nothing in the killer side is as frustrating as the above for me.

I could turn it around and say something like "this game is extremely survivor sided to the point they can even choose to play with ridiculous restriction like playing with randos and have no communication at all"

There is an immense amount of gaslighting and skill questioning to say the least. Killers who struggle or sweat are not taken seriously. There is almost no empathy. And I don't know what's more insulting of all the things that they say:
-You're not putting up enough pressure or using the right kind of perks, playstyle, or killer.
-Survivor perks, gen speed, loops, maps, and SWF are fine.
-You're not going against that good of a team of survivors that often, so it's fine.
-It takes amazing survivors, or skill/meta perks on their part, to beat killers easily.
-Killers have many inherent advantages against survivors that you just aren't using.
-You can go for many chases, without gen defence, and still get good results, so you shouldn't camp, slug, or tunnel.
-If you can't make a hook or stop a gen from popping, it's solely your fault.
-If you have to use meta perks or a high tier killer, you're getting carried by them.
-Survivors are always getting nerfed, and despite killers constantly getting outrageous buffs, they're never satisfied.
I could go on and on, and I'm not even kidding. There are people, who if they only saw the list of things I've put above and nothing else about my comment, they'd be like "Exactly! Preach!" I don't know if they don't play killer, or they play it like 10% of the time and survivor the other 90%, or if they legit play killer at high level and still truly believe that if you just play well enough, you can win any match. It's just not conversation that reflects the reality of this game.

I do. Eu.
It can be rough even for me, who let people go often. Probably because I don't play the strongest killers.
Too much time wasting, too many safe tiles.
2 -
You could. It would be a bad argument, since I could turn it around and say, "Any Killer who doesn't play Nurse with four slowdown's and omega-blink is knowingly restricting themselves to a ludicrous degree" but you could definitely make that poor argument.
2 -
I usually play point farmer legion its quite fun or doc
1 -
You can and that is exactly the reason why this game is tilted toward one side, one side is 100% nurse and another is like 5% nurse, lul
1 -
So every Survivor is competent and is blessed with good RNG?
There aren't any Bubba's forcing 2K+'s?
3 -
Every survivor is as competent as every nurse.
Bubba is basically a bug at this point, not something you will consider in balancing.

The queues after 10 PM can be strange for me. Survivor queues are sometimes 8 minutes while Killer is considerably longer. I thought more people would play at this time, but it's slow even on weekends.
As for Survivors playing mini-games mid-round, it's just the nature of having a team of players vs one player. The Killer experience can feel miserable and unrewarding when Survivors have an answer for EVERYTHING you do. Loop consistently, stun/blind when you finally pick someone up, destroy hooks and crouch spam when any of this is done.
This is why Killers end up camping or using NOED, I can imagine.

Solo queue isn´t as bad as you make it sound. Most of the time i get competent teammates. Sure, sometimes you get rage quit suicides. But thats just how it is, since there isn´t a real punishment for this. Killers usually don´t go full tryhard when that happens (exceptions apply).
5 -
We must play different people then.
I wish I got more chill matches with competent teammates. I suppose we can't expect MMR to be consistent when we sit in our 7-10 minute Survivor queues, can we?
9 -
Holy crap, I wish I had your survivor queues. My teammates are usually awful, and killers will go full-on slug-for-the-4k mode if someone suicides or disconnects, like they want to punish the other survivors for staying in the match.
My friend tried to play survivor today for some reason, and only his first match had good teammates. After that, every single match was awful. The final straw was when a bloody Claudette shined her flashlight at him while he on the ground to make sure the Nurse killed him.
From my experience, solo queue is hell. The matches with competent teammates are rare enough to be memorable and held in high regard. I'll talk about how amazing it was for the rest of the week when it happens.

The times I get the best squads are any times between 2am and 11am, and quite commonly on fridays, saturdays and sundays.
I wouldn't say it's exclusively a late night thing.

I wish survivor mains were forced to play a few games against high mmr swfs just so they can experience what killers actually complain about. Too many play a few games at low mmr against baby survivors and think they've lived the entire killer experience.
9 -
I do and is trash on both sides.
Killer is against sweaty 4mens and survivor is team mates with 20 hours.
2 -
I used to play killer at that time but it was absolutely horrible so I gave myself a cut off time of 10pm for killer. Which is sad but... yikes. If I play survivor it's with at least 1 friend lol. Been working so far
3 -
Where are you from, on which platform do you play and most importantly, do you have crossplay on or off?
From what you say with survivor queue being the normal 5+ minutes but ALSO killer queue being even LONGER sounds strange when people like me have less than 30sec queues all week after 8pm (killer only, eu west, PC, crossplay on).
1 -
Its sad how the biggest threat for survivors are other survivors.
Unsportsmanship should be punished. But for that, we would need a replay feature or something like that.
2 -
I often play late into the night, and it's almost exclusively killer time, because the surv queues are like 10+ minutes (NA, MST - PSN mostly, but also Steam, Crossplay on).
It's very hit or miss, I get a lot of try hards, and also tons of total noob squads. Like brand new to the game noobs. A fair mix of getting wrecked, good games, and me babysitting. It's a total roll of the dice after midnight.

lol what timezone? i play dbd both in the morning and evening, It get hard I know but unless your playing weak killers like me 2k is always possible with a little bit of tunneling and proxy camping.
My first bought killer was hag and it wasn't the most fun starters in DBD but here i am now, i practically farmed in high mmr with hag and stayed there for a long time until i switched to survivor after i got bored playing killer all the time.
Best matches i got with hag are sudden 4k basement/exit gate against SWF and some NOED comebacks, I learned how to make layers of trap and how to predict survivors.

You were saying?

I'm convinced most of the people on this forum don't play killer.
2 -
I play after 10 PM and some matches suck, but some are OK. Last night I had a mixed bag. Some teams gen-rushed the crap out of me so I just tunneled whoever I could out of the game. The other matches were 3-4K, but I had to sweat for those with a couple exceptions where there were good survivors matched with potatoes and the good survivors just gave up (don’t blame them).
Playing survivor is way more fun/relaxing but I don’t enjoy waiting forever to get into a match.

To be quite honest, this has also been my experience when playing solo survivor lately.... It's been strange, because on the one hand I've absolutely been getting less teammates that throw, but I'm also seeing more periods where the que is actually quite a bit shorter for survivor que over killer(not very often, mostly still points in the morning, but sometimes even during the late evenings).
I have gotten many competent survivors in solo, in fact at this point they seem to heavily outweigh the survivors who, for instance, immerse around the map for absolutely no reason or run face first into lockers... Most of them are lasting at least an average amount in chase, people are staying on gens for the most part. Solo q hasn't been bad for me personally in a while, I can count the amount of games on my hand that got lost because someone on the team was being a nut.

Specify timezone.

That has to be a time zone thing, because I basically stop getting killer games on Sunday morning by 8 am (PST). Around that 2am mark though? Yes, those are death hours ☠️

I tend to be in bed like a sane person by that point

Most times thats the only time I can play killer since Im only done work at 11

This has nothing to do with the topic at hand but THANK YOU for incorporating vital and comparable information with your anecdotal experience.
I can't remind people on the forums often enough.

I once played killer often but gave up because it only took like 1 or 2 4ks and then stuck with a group who have more skill then you. There is no moving up slowly its either you learn to play well and work hard or you get wasted and quit. I will argue survivor is easier to learn because you have 3 others to help out if they are good. Both sides have their struggle but the game will always be in favor of the survivors because there are 4v1. If they balance they killers to combat the SWF swat teams that are the biggest problem and if you nerf them you lower the quality of solo que. There is a hard balancing question to go.

If I play past 10PM I get nothing but noobs.
0 -
That's when I play most of the time. There's basically no matchmaking at that hour. You're just as likely to 4k at 4 gens as you are to actually be matched correctly at peak hours.

I play killer past 10:00 PM. Sometimes

There are lots of issues that need to be looked at. I don't even know if you can fix how stressful Killer is unless you screw over survivors. You are literally 1 person vs 4 people. An organized team should always be able to beat a single player but most aren't.
Judging from the stats the Developers are releasing, Killer is balanced with survivor. However, when you get a competent team, Killer is just a play thing.
I think the problem is that everyone who plays Killer feels as if it's the power role but it's not, either side should have an equal chance of winning. However, when the Killer loses, it feels worse, because of that "Power-Role Idea".
Survivors don't really notice as much or care as much, if they lose.

If a killer chased you for 4 minutes then he was obviously a very bad killer. Anyone with any experience knows to disengage if a chase goes on for more than 30 seconds, let alone 4 minutes.
Why are you complaining about getting matched with a baby killer? Or why are you complaining about losing to such a baby killer in the first place like something unfair happened? You lost to a very bad killer. You unironically need to accept that and improve because good players shouln't be losing to literal baby killers that chase for 4 freaking minutes straight.
1 -
I don't know what happens at 2am but suddenly something just happens making everyone as sweaty as possible. It's like a switch that turns on making the arabic players come out and every good survivor run the most tryhard stuff.
I've adapted to it tbh cos I know at 2am I'll be sweating, and sometimes sweaty games can be fun.
1 -
i mean i think its obvious why a lot of people dont play at 10 pm.
0 -
Tbh I love and hate them, it's good to know everyone was trying there hardest, win or lose, but it gets bitter at times.
0 -
That's odd, I play at most times of the day when I can, and I'm still doing good and winning lol sounds like now the current topic to blame losses on is...time zones? It never ceases lmao

EU West, Crossplay On, XSX
I meant Killer queues are quicker, my bad. Survivor queues feel longer than they really are
